As long as you know what to expect when you are going in, things will be ok. I got my wedding dress there, and had low expectations, so I wasn’t disappointed. My dress looked fine, the alterations were painless and for a one day event, I was satisfied. You just have to remember David’s Bridal is like the Gap of wedding dresses. Dresses are mass produced, reasonably priced and mediocre sales associates are there to help you… as well as usually another customer. I wasn’t too impressed that after spending over $ 1000 on a dress I received a cheap PLASTIC dress bag. I bought a $ 15 dress paper bag which the zipper immediately broke. Again, have low expectations. My bridesmaid dress experience was amusing, but again since I had low expectations, I wasn’t disappointed. Even though I had an appointment(and previously picked out some dresses), they were surprised to see me when I arrived and hadn’t even pulled the dresses… not all that surprised. One of the dresses they didn’t have in my size, so the sales associate suggested, per David’s Bridal, pulled another dress in the same material and stated that it should be a good indication of how that size would fit. Well she proceeded to pull a dress not only not in the same fabric, but a totally different style. Since they have a ‘purchase first and no return policy’, it made me nervous to purchase a dress I wasn’t able to try on(so, I guess this is where the Gap is better than David’s Bridal… return policy). Overall, if you want a wedding/bridemaids dress that is reasonably priced, with a decent amount of variety, David’s Bridal will fit the bill. Don’t expect anything special. Ugh, and I HATED that stupid bell-ringing(they ring a bell when you decide on a wedding dress).

I am absolutely not satisfied with ordering with David’s Bridal via online for bridesmaid dresses. I bought five y neck dresses(apple colored) online. Unbeknownst to me, my one order was split into 3 shipments. If you know UPS, they always tell you that the estimated delivery time is between 8 am to 9 pm. I had to sit at home for two different days to get 4⁄5 dresses. When I got my second shipment in, the Y on the neck was un-threaded and the fabric at the Y part got a hole in it. Plus, for that particular dress, it was a sample dress with a clearance tag and it looked really really really washout. I was not informed that I bought a sample dress. It gets worst from here. Because I wasn’t told ahead of time that my order was split into three, I got really upset that my fifth dress was missing. When I checked the order status online, it said that it was pending– no estimated time delivery was given. Then, I was extremely upset that the dress did not fit as expected. Online, the website said that the dress runs small, so i got a size bigger for my girls. But it didn’t fit well at all. When I try to return the dress, the customer service lady said that I had to wait for the fifth dress to arrive before I can return the dresses.(Note: David’s Bridal have a 14 day return policy from the date you receive your dress). I told the customer service lady that it didn’t make any sense for me to wait for the fifth dress to arrive before I can return my items; b/c there is no expected time for that item to come and by the time it comes I will already exceeded the 14 days limitation. Furthermore, David’s Bridal didn’t pack the item yet; why can’t I just cancel it instead of wasting time for it to be packed and shipped. Lastly, David’s Bridal do not pay for return postage. After all this trouble, wasting 16 hours waiting for the package, I still have to fork out $ 26 for postage to return the package. Ladies, David’s Bridal dresses aren’t cheap. I chose them for their quality and reputation. After this time, I’m definitely taking my business else where. For example, Macy’s have really nice dresses; they often free shipping too. And easy return if necessary.

I’ll admit I was a bit skeptical to come here after reading the reviews but luckily I got paired up with the sweetest stylist(Patricia) that helped me find my dress in no time! I told her we were getting married in a month and all about what I wanted in a dress and she pulled some amazing ones off the rack that looked gorgeous on me! Also, I had to go to work in a few hours so I was done way before my shift started. Thank you so much Patricia for being so caring, attentive, and accommodating to my needs!

It was my first time to shop here. Passed by one of their stores in NYC thousands times but never went in. This time in Colma, I had very good experience:) I was going to have a photography, so I shopped for some dresses. When I passed by DB, I was thinking about why not try some wedding gowns even though I’m not going to married soon? So I went in and tried some gorgeous gowns. I remembered a SA Vanessa helped me. She was very nice and welcome, and had a very good taste. On that days, she was very busy with the other customer who was willing to buy something. Vanessa was very professional and also served me even though I just took a look around DB. Now I really have something in mind and thinking about get a gown someday. If I will buy, I will go for Vanessa. Thank you for made my great experience in store!

I am getting married this spring and I went to David’s bridal to find my wedding dress and then pick out bridesmaids dresses. After the experience I had I will not be ordering my dress or doing any other shopping there. I had found a dress I really liked but the whole experience was so frustrating I won’t give them my money. I had an appointment at 7 but it was 7:30 before Anyone helped us. I didn’t connect with the sales associate at all, which I understand can happen, we just had different style preferences. What I did not like was that I told her I was on a budget and would like to stay under $ 1000. The first dress she brought me was $ 1500. Then after I had waited for help she had another customer at the same time that she was going back and forth from. After all that I ended up leaving. They told me they wanted to register me to save the dress I want on file. I asked her if they would send me emails. She assured me they wouldn’t, that it was just an in store profile and they don’t sell the information. The next day I was already receiving emails from them and other bridal stores as well as phone calls on my cell phone from men’s warehouse. I would not recommend them at all.

I started my wedding gown experience here last year and on my first visit I was able to find 2 gowns I like after trying on about 5 – 8 dresses. The advice that I can give is to just have an open mind about the whole process, and don’t overwhelm yourself by thinking too much. Some of the gowns looks great on the hanger and horrible on you. And some will look just mediocre on the hanger and look amazing when you have it on. So don’t judge it until you have it on you. Also, the more choices you have, the worst it is to decide. Decide early on how much you want to spend and stick to it. Only if you don’t like anything in that price range should you decide to maybe change it up a little. And if you don’t like something about a dress, and like another feature on the dress, let your consultant know because there may be another dress that will fit you better. Maybe a bit more expensive, but it’s worth it to have it «perfect». So I picked out a few styles I like online before I came in the store and when I left, I didn’t end up liking any of my own choices. Instead, I went with the suggested gowns that my consultant showed me. The only thing that was my choice is that I wanted A-line as I have big boobs and that style work for me. I did try on other styles but they didn’t look as good on me. By the end of the appointment, I narrowed it down to two gowns and told the associate that I will be back to try them on again as I couldn’t decide which gown I like more. My MOH took photos of me in all of the gowns and especially on the two that I really like, and I pretty much just gave myself time to decide. The second visit was pretty much just narrowing down which of those 2 gowns I like more. But the consultant showed me more dresses on the second appointment just to make sure that I did not miss anything. And some of those gowns she showed me are significantly cheaper(price-wise) than the two I picked, so I guess she was also trying to save me money? Now, I picked David’s Bridal because I was a bit of a frugal bride.(So don’t expect Champagne or wine here.) Most of the dresses here look really good and doesn’t costs too much money compared to other designer places. Nonetheless, I was ready to fork down some serious cash as I wanted a beautiful wedding gown. In the end, I was able to buy a beautiful A-line gown with a lovely train for an amazingly good deal, and able to splurge on the veil and other accessories. I was really lucky and did not need much tailoring aside from the bustle on my gown. So that was 2 short visits to the fitting only. One for the bustle and make sure everything fits right and the other was the pickup which I had to try on the gown again to make sure everything is correct. The only hiccup that I experienced was that I didn’t buy the undergarment for the gown until the fitting appointment and they didn’t have that information on file which I thought the consultant had put down. But they were able to figure this out before too long and was able to do the appointment without problem. Make sure to bring the shoes you are wearing to the fitting appointment as that will help them tailor your gown correctly. What made me give 5 stars instead of 4 stars to David’s is that the preservation kit they sell is an amazing deal. Most people will not think about the gown being dirty after the wedding, but I can tell you that after the wedding, I was amazed at how much dirt it gathered. Especially if you have an outdoor wedding like I did! So make sure you plan ahead and buy the preservation kit for the lower price when you get your gown. It’s worth every penny! Also, I wanted to add that the store manager here was really kind and that most of the staff I worked with were incredibly friendly and really happy to help me find«the dress!» :)

Note: I came here by association, but I was very impressed by the overall operation. The manager(Sandra) was very friendly, patient and helpful. This was by far the best David’s Bridal experience that I’ve had in the Bay Area, and I’ve unfortunately been dragged to a lot of them. Go here and ask for Sandra. You’ll get top notch service.

OK. If you know what to expect, you will not be disappointed. This is a summary of what to expect: David’s Bridal requires an appointment to try gowns on. David’s Bridal doesn’t carry unique, one of a kind gowns. David’s Bridal does not offer gowns you can leave with — meaning you must order the dress you say yes to and it will come in weeks and weeks. Some dresses take months. David’s Bridal alterations take exponentially longer than say, Nordstrom. If you take all of those basic points into consideration, you will have a great time trying on various gowns, ordering(you can choose your color), and receiving the gown you want! My daughter and I came in to find a prom dress. We had an appointment. She tried on so many gowns, I was getting tired and I wasn’t even doing any of the labor that my daughter and the associate putting her in and taking her out of gowns were doing! We were there for over 2 hours with a dedicated person pulling gowns in various sizes and helping her into them before a stroll in the stage area full of mirrors with seating for loved ones to «ooo and ahh.» I am glad appointments provide this because that is super helpful! She said YESTOTHEDRESS that was $ 80(thanks to $ 20 off prom dress special, YAY!) She chose the color she wanted and I paid. After a few weeks, we picked the dress up. A special thank you to Josnubia for her patience and professional assistance. She worked very hard to help my daughter find the perfect dress. My daughter said she felt like Cinderella at her prom. Aww. Thank you Josnubia and David’s Bridal.
