It is time for Metro Center to update itself, the shopping center was good when it open the first 12 years. But a lot of stores have come and go like The Wherehouse, Barnes and Noble(said the rent was too high that what some reviewers have found out in 2011 or 2012), Bed Bath and Beyond(now at the shopping center across from Serramonte Center on Gellert), and Anna’s Linens. They do get business, but the shopping center is never fully packed where people have to drive around a bit to find parking even on weekends. Metro Center is also good for Black Friday parking. When the Best Buy across the street has no more parking. People just park there and walk over. Since they are never majorly packed. What it needs, are update the décor and style of the shopping center and don’t charge rent so high for businesses. Since the Barnes and Noble closed the nearest big chain book store is the Barnes and Noble at Tanforan for people from San Francisco to South San Francisco. It also need to bring in some good business for the empty spots. Recently the Burger King there have been updated.

Now that Barnes & Nobel is gone, I rarely make my way to this shopping center. I still hit-up the Home Depot and occasionally pay too much for some Quizno’s but that’s it. In the Fall a decent Halloween store opens as well. Overall, though, the businesses here seem to struggle — they’re always coming and going — and I think it’s becasue the mall is around the corner and all the stores here are too far apart from each other.

Plenty of parking and a good selection of stores that I can spend the entire day here going from store to store. I frequent GNC, Bed Bath, Old Navy, Joann’s, Marshall’s, Nordstrom Rack, Home Depot, Burger King, Best Buy, and Ulta.

Typical strip mall. They have some good stores. You can’t go wrong with Nordstrom Rack, Old Navy, Marshalls, and Barnes & Noble. There is a couple of food places if you get hungry, but usually I’m not there long enough to worry about food.

There has been so many stores that come and go at this center. The one I actually miss is KYUN. The ones that are here to stay are Bed, Bath, & Beyond, Home Depot Pro, Old Navy, JoAnn Fabrics and Crafts, Burger King, Barnes & Noble, and Nordstrom Rack. The other retailers don’t get much visitor traffic sad to say. Maybe if more well-known retailers or even outlets started replacing the current lackluster stores, business would be better.
