I took my dog to get groomed and he had several small cuts everywhere including inside of his ears. Also he kept randomly scratching and to my horror I found a big flea on him.

The Petsmart store in general is great, love their products and the staff at this particular store is very friendly and helpful.
But I am NEVER taking my dog back there for their grooming service! Not only did they not seem to know what their own services were (had a big sign right on the wall saying the FURminator plus package came with teeth brushing and nail grinding, but when we mentioned it to them two separate employees insisted it didn’t come with that, until we pointed out the sign.) they also seemed to be very bad at communicating with each other. We had to tell three separate people that we wanted the hair around our dogs ears trimmed along with the brushing he was gonna get. 5 hours later (even though they said it would only take 1.5 hours) when we went to pick our dog up we were disappointed to find all they had done in that long time was bathe and brush him. His ears still weren’t trimmed, he also hadn’t had his teeth brushed or nails trimmed because «the package we got didn’t offer that» So once again we had to point out their big red obvious sign, and after telling two more employees what we wanted with his ears they finally took him back and did that all. So after all that trouble I was pretty disappointed when they brought our dog back out and they had somehow managed to give him the same awful awful bowl cut that I had gotten back in high school.

So over priced!!! I have quit buying anything for my dogs here, including chew toys, treats, collars, food, and grooming. Every time I purchase something here I later find the same product at Wal-​Mart or on Amazon for at least half price or less. Why do they think they can mark up their goods so high?
No more overpriced crap for dogs. The only thing they have good is a large selection.
A slicker brush at Petsmart was $ 14.49 and I bought one identical at Walmart for $ 7.47, same thing for the treats, and leashes… It’s endless how much I’ve saved buying beds, kennels, and other accessories at wal-​mart. Their selection is also improving, so I always check there first.

There fish department was like a disaster when I visited today. The tanks were over crowded. Guppies had fin rot. Even a dead guppy floating in the tank and no one was taking care of them. They are running a reduced price on their fish but I would not suggest to buy any for the risk of screwing up your own tank with the sick fish.

I remember when this used to be a great pet store. Now, it is a big disappointment. Never have what you are looking for. A lot of wasted trips only to find nothing I was going to buy. They stay out of certain merchandise for weeks at a time. Hope it eventually gets back to the way it started out.

Always great prices, great selection. I usually buy the Blue Moon food for my dog here, every time i get the food, I always end up Buying a toy since the prices are good. We like all the fish and other pets they have, I take my nephews here and they love it every times!

My boyfriend and I have been using petsmart for grooming, food, toys, accessories… but we have realized that they have a horrible return policy PLUS poorly trained staff.
The experience that got me to write this review was especially frustrating (compared to other bad experiences) because the person we spoke with, a manager, was the second person we had asked about returning the food bins (3 of them which recently stopped being air and water tight).
In the first visit we bought some dog food and tried to use our pet perks… but the system couldn’t find our account… again…this has happened 2x now. So we had to register again.
We checked out and I came back in to ask the girl working at the register if we could return the bins. She said «sure! If you don’t have the receipt we can give you store credit.» So we loaded up the pup, cleaned out the bins, and made our way back (20 miles) to petsmart… But we were greeted by an older lady who said «what? Do you have a return?» While she was checking other people out at register 1. So we went and put the large bins on the 2^nd register belt. Then the manager asked us what we needed and we told her the situation. She told us that policy dictated that she couldn’t return without a receipt even if we took store credit. And that on top of that we couldn’t return after 50 days. But if we knew the exact date and approximate time that we purchased them she could look it up. We told her that we had no idea what day we bought them.
We told her what the other girl had said to us and she said «well she isn’t a manager.»
I have worked retail, at the very least you should know your return policy… that’s a basic practice.
We told her that wasn’t a good enough reason for us to be at a loss for the product defect. And she said she would see what she could do and went to talk to another manager.
We waited 15 minutes for her to come back, in that time we had to wrangle our dog who was trying to wait for us to take him to the park (his favorite place)…he was having to sit by the door and wait for the manager to come back which was taking entirely too long. He had an accident and while I was cleaning it up the manager came back and said that without a receipt she couldn’t do anything for us.
I told her that it all comes back to training your employees. If we hadn’t been given the run around we wouldn’t have been there asking for a return to begin with. No other store in this chain has ever given us issues with returning without a receipt. No other store or type of store has had a more confusing return policy than theirs… What we learned was:
–no returns (even for store credit) on grooming tools still in the package
–no returns (on obviously defective products) even when the customer has gone out of their way because of what an employee told them
We are done buying from petsmart.

groomers: i like that they make sure the pets have their vaccines! and i have to confess that i am one of those over protective pet owners and i trust no one with my little one, that being said– i really liked my experience with my groomer, Hunter! he was very sweet to my chihuahua (my profile pic). i was worried about leaving her because she is 13 years old and refuses to bear weight on a hind leg after a knee surgery, shes very pampered and loves being carried. but Hunter was very sweet to my furry baby. when he called her «mamacita» i was like «ok i like this guy my baby will be fine here» *^_​^* make sure to take cash to tip your groomer because their dont have a card reader in their salon. other groomers there: while i was waiting i saw most of them do a really good job on shaving and trimming other dogs… except… i saw one groomer pull a knot a little harder than necessary especially when the dog had already let the groomer know that it hurt. and the dogs coat was shaved unevenly and patchy. i think the dog got a small cut from this too. i had noticed this person seemed tired and annoyed, then it became obvious that i was watching disapprovingly and the groomer took the dog to the back even though the dog was well behaved. i didnt get the groomers name otherwise i would have posted. because of this incident i didnt rate 5 stars. but hunter was awesome just ask for him!

Clean location, helpful kitty staff, always have dogs being groomed here. Dog training classes, catnip, alot of fish, even Glow in the dark fish! Catnip Stogies, Kitty Food Towers, etc.
I love PetSmart, but I don’t like seeing the kitties trapped! Go adopt! I would, but I already have a few lol.

Although I feed my dog a raw (species-​appropriate) diet, I am happy to see that Petsmart is finally carrying higher quality dry food like Wellness and Blue Buffalo! If you feed kibble, please consider switching to one of these or the Taste of the Wild from Tractor Supply. We enjoy shopping at this College Station entry into the giant nationwide chain, but it sure would be nice if there were a locally owned and operated pet store. Staff here are always friendly.
Always make SURE you use their «Perks» card or you are gonna get totally screwed. They ask you at the register and if you tell them no thinking you’re smart and saving time by not giving them any personal information, you just got jacked. Some prices vary on items of up to several dollars each so you HAVE to use that card.
