I love this place! I’ve had pizza, soup and sandwiches and they are all great. The bread is baked fresh daily and it shows. The lobster bisque and the clam chowder are both amazing. You can’t go wrong with any one of their pizzas.

I love Blue Baker. The bread is amazing, my favorite is zucchini and the focaccia they make daily. The Club sandwich is my #1 choice always. The sauce is slightly tangy and excellent on the croissant bread. I did try the Blue Baker on Dominik, and their club wasn’t as good; I think their sauce tasted different, less tangy more mayo. The pizzas are awesome, highly recommend since you order how you’d like and they grill/bake it in an open stone oven. The crust is my favorite part! The ambiance at the University Blue Baker is beautiful facing the water fountain outside and has a nice clean, friendly environment inside. The BB on Dominick is a few miles closer to me, but we never eat inside because it’s just not as nice, not bad, just not as nice as University’s. Definitely sign up for their Blue Rewards, they will send specials and coupons for free bread, cookies, sandwiches!

Our first time in Aggieland making an obligatory stop at Blue Baker. Awesome experience for dinner ordered brick oven fired pizza. Unfortunately, we didn’t get paged via the pager, so our pizza sat uncollected till cool. No problem, they remade the one for our boys because it was a bit over cooked. The coffee and fresh fruit tart; my wife and I recommend.

Probably my favorite restaurant in CSTAT. I come here as often as my schedule allows! I have loved everything that I have tired but I find myself trying to choose between the club blue and the clam chowder bread bowl and usually end up getting both because I absolutely can’t decide they are both so good! Service is quick and courteous!

I can honestly say I have never had a bad experience at this location. I didn’t even know what blue Baker was until moving to college station. I favor the university location of the one off Texas. Its bigger, and seems nicer. But both are excellent locstions. Keep it up!

Haven’t been here in quite some time, but my son started meeting me there for lunch or dinner. Food is delicious and the service is good

This place is amazing for breakfast and cold sandwiches! Unfortunately, that’s all I’ve had because they don’t sell hot sandwiches until lunchtime. The bread is freshly made and is fantastic. The cookies are to die for. It’s a great place to go with friends and is an awesome atmosphere for studying. And if you’re feeling adventurous go outside, there’s a nice sitting area right by the fountain which is a great place for taking pictures with friends and family!

The bagels have just the right amount of stretch and the distinctive shiny crust to bring them almost up to par with the bagels from the Brooklyn, NY, delis of my youth. Progressing to breakfast sandwiches, the components of the spinach, egg, and feta cheese bagel sandwich meld into just the soul-satisfying breakfast this NY native longs for. Messy, but so worth it. The coffees from the local What’s The Buzz purveyor are the bomb. Always strong enough, complex, flavorful, robust. The coffee D\definitely holds its own. Go on Saturday to pick up a loaf or two of kalamata olive and rosemary bread. Well worth the carbs. In fact, pick up three loaves, as two probably won’t get you through the week. In the evenings, it’s the tomato basil bisque in the sourdough bowl for cold and evenings or the crisp and fresh Greek salad in summer. As for service, the counter workers always seem hip, engaging, and helpful. I once approached the order counter with what might be described as a chip on my shoulder. The sweet gal behind the counter dissipated my bad mood with one sentence. She seemed so genuine, and she single-handedly salvaged my evening. Blue Baker obviously values people with good interpersonal skills. I like the stained concrete floor the industrial-chic look of the interior. In nice weather, the outside patio adjacent to the fountain is lovely. Another note that speaks to customer service: My knitting group meets weekly at this location. The manager noticed that I was knitting, and brought over a small bag of knitting accoutrements from the restaurant’s lost-and-found collection that he assumed one of our group had left behind on a previous visit.

My favorite CS restaurant. Their pastries and sandwiches are so good! Also they deliver to home with no extra charge! If you get the Baker’s deluxe box you get a cookie, sandwich and soup or salad for $ 11.00! The catch is they only do it to go! So stay at home and order to go for the best deal from Blue Baker!

Blue baker is a good restaurant when you want a light meal. I ordered a build your own on sourdough bread with turkey, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. The food is good but they are very stingy with their meat! The prices are pretty steep considering that you don’t get a lot for your money. On the plus side, this location has more seating than the Dominik location, but I don’t like the fact that the students use the restaurant as a study hall!

Something’s happened to Blue Baker. What used to be a fun tasty stop is no more. At least for my breakfast. Unless of course you like bland watery eggs, chilled bacon and surely help. I can get that at home. Haha Seriously the help was about as opposite as what you find at a, say Chipotle, and did about the minimum. I think it started out poorly when after standing for a couple minutes waiting to order breakfast I had to interrupt employees chatting over the prep area. I think they were irritated with me because my wife had ordered the same breakfast plate and I got less eggs and three bacon strips when my wife got four. They got me! My daughter had a bagel sandwich and it looked good. No thanks, bye-bye, you’re welcome, etc. from our servers. When we drove away I noticed the windows had been painted«Breakfast» in big bold blue letters. I’m assuming they are trying to grow their breakfast business. My suggestion is start with the food and the help, then advertise.

Visited this restaurant twice while in College Station. It was very convient as it was right across the street from the Hilton. First time I stopped in for lunch and had a hot sandwich, it was good, but would have been nice if cut in half. Next visit I got a smoked salmon everything bagel. It was good, but overwhelmed by the amount of cream cheese to the Salmon. Everybody was nice, danish was good.

The Club Blue sandwich is very good! It always smells nice and fresh when I walk in the place. The staff is always very nice and cordial. The only thing I didn’t quite like was the pizza, I like thin crusts but when I had it at a catered event I could barely see any sauce on it and it was a bit… chewy/dry. It wasn’t bad, and I could even see myself ordering it again one day if i was in the mood, but it didn’t «wow» me. I know I will be back countless times for the Club Blue sandwich while I’m here for college though. It’s very tasty and I can tell myself it’s healthier than 90% of other things I eat lol. EDIT: I don’t know how I forgot to mention their cookies — delicious! I’ve had my eye on the double chocolate cupcake too, they look good :) Might as well add that they have fruit cups too, good for the kids or a light desert if that’s how you diet.

I waited in line only to get learn that they don’t turn on their ovens on Sunday. I looked for a sign/statement that would have clued me in to their policy. There was none. How would I miraculously know that they don’t serve hot sandwiches and pizza on Sundays? The second time I ordered a large catered lunch – $ 300 worth. After waiting for the delivery, half the order was missing. They comped it, though. So that’s fine. I visited a third time. The flow is bizarre: Wait in this line to order, but don’t pay. Then, find a table and claim it with your buzzer. Then, wait in a different line to pay – but the cashiers let random people from the adjacent hallway cut in line. Then, get to the front of the line only to have the cashier ask, «What’s your buzzer number?» You fool, everybody is supposed to memorize their number! Go back to the table to get the buzzer. Return to the second line again. Buzzer goes off. Walk back to the ORIGINAL counter where you placed your order. Several orders will be there with no employee in sight. Which order is yours? Take a guess. Carry your food to your table. Realize that you don’t have napkins. Because you are alone and unwilling to leave your food unattended, say«FUDGEIT!» and eat without napkins or drink refills. No employee will walk by to help. No employee will wipe off any tables during the lunch rush. I realize in retrospect that I did it wrong, but it shouldn’t be that hard! I shouldn’t have to read a poster to figure out how to eat at a restaurant. Edit: I followed the communication instructions in Blue Baker’s response to this review, but they never followed up with me.

A great, cheap, and easy place to dine-out! We ordered the Pesto Pizza, Walnut aApple Salad and some desserts. The pizza was excellent and the price was decent. $ 41 for the whole thing including sodas. Recommended if you want a cheap and easy place to eat out.

Definitely a great find in College Station. I would think of this place like Panera’s older brother — hipper, cooler, and much more laid back. Pros: + great selection of sandwiches, soups, etc. + Awesome Pizzas — + Loved the idea of separating speedy items from slower items + would be a great study spot if they had more lighting + Friendly service + Parking + Great location Cons — not enough lighting to be able to read — I’d really like to spend an afternoon here getting coffee and reading but it’s just not very conducive to that.

I am commenting on one experience only. It was the first and only time I have used this place; so, to be fair, I will give them another chance with something other than pizza. My wife and I were hungry but didn’t want to leave the house so we ordered pizza. One Pepperoni and one bell pepper and hamburger. They don’t serve beef nor did the have bell pepper. So we ended up going with sausage and roasted red pepper. Thin crust on both. When it arrived the delivery guy was well organized and professional. We paid him and the we opened the boxes to grab a slice. I noticed right off that they were rather reserved with their toppings. I can live with that but the crust was very doughy and under cooked. I didn’t think it was very flavorful at all. I would like to see them offer beef and certainly bell peppers but more importantly take the time to make sure it’s properly prepared. I’ll go again soon and see how it is as a walk in. I’ll update then.

To see my full review with pictures and links, see my blog post! Blue Baker is one of my favorite bakeries in College Station. They are an artisan bakery that bakes everything from scratch, starting from 3 or 4 am in the morning. Doubling as a restaurant, they serve fresh bagels, pastries, breads, pizzas, sandwiches, desserts, salads, and soups. Every month features specials, such as peach pecan scone, candied orange twist, and key lime tarts for this month of June. Additionally, they have weekly bread and pastry specials. I typically go to Blue Baker to eat their scone specials, but everything on their menu is superb. Their breads are moist, have the perfect crumb and texture(a little chewy, perfect crunchy golden crust that you can bite through, a little sweet, moist enough for bread), and show off that artisan, made-by-hand look. Their sweet breads and pastries are delicious and varied. My favorite sweet breads are the zucchini bread sold every Sunday, the blueberry peach bread(THEBESTTHEBESTTHEBEST) on Tuesdays, and the cinnamon swirl bread on Thursdays. I have yet to try the red, white, and blue sweetbread, but I am very excited to get it when July 4th rolls around. Cupcakes are large, maybe 2⁄3 the size of Costco-sized cupcakes. I have gotten the Boston Cream Pie and the Zucchini cupcakes before. Tasty, not too sweet, but definitely sweet. Good, standard. Maybe a bit dense for cake texture. Cookies are huge too. They offer many types every day: chocolate chip, chocolate walnut, chocolate decadence, peanut butter, oatmeal raisin. Special flavors are rotated in weekly and monthly, such as white chocolate macadamia, sugar, ginger. Scones are about the size of the ones as Starbucks, but feature different flavors that allow the buttery saltiness of the bread shine while melding with the sweets of the fruits incorporated or the sugar crystals on top. With the addition of nuts, the scones also give a nice crunch. Their pizzas are made Neapolitan style, which is a thin crisp crust, a touch of marinara sauce, and a delicate addition of fresh, quality toppings. Once before, I went with my BF and we ordered the four cheese tomato and the D’Vinchee. The four cheese tomato was delicious, with fresh slices of tomato, melty spots of mozarella everywhere, freshly chiffoned(sp?) basil, and drizzles of just perfect marinara over a bubbly thin crust. I liked mine better than the D’Vinchee, which was also good but I’m not a meat person and not as big a fan of portabella mushrooms. The D’Vinchee has olive oil, mozarella, sausage, roasted portabella mushrooms, chicken, and cilantro. These pizzas are not as filling as Pizza Hut or Dominos(as in one slice won’t fill you, but ½ to a whole 9″ pizza will), but they are high quality pizzas. Prices are somewhat high, upwards of $ 8 – 10 for a meal. Individual breads and pastries are quite affordable. Scones are about $ 2.25; cupcakes around $ 3.50(a bit pricey, but they are large); breads about $ 4.50 for a loaf(I get day-olds for half off) or $ 3.00 for baguettes, ciabatta, focaccia. Despite the somewhat higher prices for meals, you are paying for the quality of your food. All the workers here are also extremely nice, fast, and wonderful. This is, again, one of my favorite places in College Station. Hit either location on University or Dominik Drive in College Station, or their newest store in Austin, TX. This is one artisan bakery and restaurant that truly deserves to be tasted!
