College Point Optometric Associates

My wife needed a new eye dr after we got married and she moved to Queens, and after going to the same optometrist for about ten years she was very apprehensive about going to a new dr but this practice appeased her worries and she was very satisfied! I had not been to an eye doctor for several years so this was a good first visit for me as well. The staff is very pleasant, friendly, attentive and efficient-​whenever I’ve had a billing question of concern they got right back to me promptly. Dr. Reising was very thorough and helpful, we will be continuing to go to this practice for as long as we are in Queens!

Have your eye exam here but DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT getting your glasses here! Dr. Monica Bhasin is wonderful, caring and great with kids. However, the guy who runs the optometry in the back is a complete crook. He’s one of the slickest salesman I have ever encountered. Before you know it, you will end up paying a ton more than you need to. He’s very pushy and is only looking out for himself, not the patients. He creatively conned us into paying a lot more than we needed to last year.
This year we decided to re-​use the frames and get new lenses. We were determined to go elsewhere more reasonable and not deal with his pushiness. To get us back in, he quoted a low price. Then when we went in, he quoted a much higher price. We reminded him of the price he quoted on the phone and he glibly lied his way through his blunder. Then when the bill came, it was not the price we agreed on. I called him to discuss it and he had the nerve to insinuate that I heard wrong. UNBELIEVABLE!!! I told him that he could keep the money he cheated me out of since he «needs it so much» (not that he even offered to pay me back).
If you’ve been his client in the past, I STRONGLY URGE you not to get your glasses there again. He’s so good in his game that you actually don’t know that you’ve been hoodwinked. Get your glasses elsewhere that is much cheaper and you don’t have to deal with his unscrupulous behavior. 4 stars for Dr. Bhasin but 10 stars for him. SHAME ON HIM!

This place has exceeded my expectations. Very clean, very professional, very on-​time and very thorough and concise eye exam. I am very pleased I found this place. And having the optometrics in the back to get your new frames/​contacts is very convenient. The only draw back is that you have to park in the street on very busy College Point Boulevard and pay the meter, which is give you only an hour. It is inconvenient to have to time the meter during a doctor’s visit. I recommend getting dropped off… who needs to the pressure of dilated eyes and having to worry about the expired meter. Otherwise, this place was great. Dr. Riesing was very good.
