My daughter is a student at Unviersity of Maryland at the college park. She was never happy with the appearance of her smile. But, we never really had the confidence in our family dentist to perform any cosmetic procedures. Then my daughter fractured her front tooth. One of her college friends recommended Dr. Alexander. She called the office. They saw her immediately. While my daughter was in his office, Dr. Alexander called me and thoroughly discussed all the treatment options over the phone. He put me completely at ease. We decided to include the fractured tooth in a makeover of my daughter’s smile. The results were fabulous. My daughter couldn’t be more pleased. The treatment was conservative and very reasonable. My daughter loves the office and continues to go back for her regular check-ups, teeth whitening, and teeth cleaning.

I went to Dr. Alexander over my school breaks for a few cosmetic procedures. I got veneers, and they look awesome. He’s a super perfectionist, so he makes sure everything is the right fit and color. I was worried that the shaved-down teeth pre-veneers would be really small, but they were actually not that small and no one noticed them over my spring break(not even my very honest friends). Turnaround was also surprisingly quick from xrays to final. The best part is that getting the veneers put on didn’t require any novacane or drilling — just simple UV light and I was done! Definitely the best part is the movie glasses. He has so many movies like Serendipity and while watching them, I completely forgot I was having dental work done. I’ve also gotten teeth whitening done, but since I go to school in the Midwest, they were only the trays. However, I was surprised by how close and convenient the location is to the University of Maryland, College Park campus. I think it’d be a great place for UMD girls(or guys) to get their teeth whitened or whatever.

I’d scared of dentists my whole life until I met Dr. Alexander. I must say, if you are looking for a peaceful dentist visit, this is the place. I had cavities and I never felt scared or judged — Dr. Alexander made it as pleasant an experience as drilling teeth can be. The staff including receptionists are also very sweet. When getting worked on there are [optional, of course] movie goggles and the movie selection is great! Nothing distracts you from the pain of drilling like watching a movie. Not only that, but you are physically blocked from watching a Novocaine needle being stabbed into your mouth. If you have a phobia of needles, these goggles are pretty neat. Dr. Alexander also practices with a conservatism that not many dentists use nowadays. For example, I was having TERRIBLE tooth pain and thought I may need a root canal(advil around the clock… I could sense my liver being poisoned). Although over half the signs pointed to a classic root canal case, the other half were ambiguous or certain signs were missing. Thus, after 3 visits, two different types of x-rays and various tooth tests, he decided not to do a root canal which I am thankful for because it turns out it was a sinus infection causing the pain. I’m very happy I avoided an unnecessary and painful procedure through a little detective work and caution. Dr. Alexander is also very good when it comes to explanations. He takes the time to explain what’s going on in your mouth to you in a way you can understand. If you ask a question about your mouth, you will get an answer that makes sense and evidence to back it up. The equipment is very up-to-date so you get clear pictures of what’s going on on the inside to support your questions. Overall, I am very happy with Dr. Alexander and would recommend him.
