Philipstown Tree Service

One of our large and very old maple trees had a split in the trunk. We wanted to save the tree, not have it taken down. Several other tree services gave opinions and estimates on what needed to be done, but they didn’t inspire confidence, so we went with Philipstown Tree Service. Jerry came quickly to inspect the tree and describe the best approach for saving it. We were concerned about getting this taken care of before there was any snow because the possibility of the tree splitting could have been dangerous. He scheduled the work for as soon as most of the leaves would be off the tree. He and his crew arrived right on time and were very professional and pleasant. They did an excellent job, removing some branches and installing two cables. One of other tree services gave a much lower estimate for branch removal and cable installation, but after talking to Jerry it seemed unrealistic for a job that ended up taking a three-​man crew three and a half hours. Considering the size of the job and the quality of the work the price was reasonable. I will definitely hire them again and recommend them to anyone in the mid-​Hudson Valley region.

Living on a property full of very old trees has its high points. For example, this weekend we are going to tap the maples and try our hand at making syrup. But once in a while one or more of those grand old trees needs some love or to be taken down. It is then that I call in Philipstown Tree Service. They are quick to come and address the issue. Jerry is very knowledgeable about what he does and takes great care in what he does as it can be a dangerous job at times. As for our felled trees, we save them and cut them for firewood and thank them for the warmth they bring us.
