Guy told me he was a «knife collector» and sold me a knife for $ 30 that I could buy on eBay for $ 10 new. Buyer beware

Came by here towards the end of our day of «antiquing» in Cold Spring. Having gone to several stores to just browse around, we came here with the same idea. Overall, when you go to multiple stores like these they all tend to appear similar, but what set this place apart was the proprietor. He was extremely friendly, helpful, and sold us on a beautiful old mirror we were evaluating. His knowledge and experience were vast and he was able to thoroughly explain to us everything about this particular piece (timeframe, where it came from, where he came across it, and how he restored the back part for hanging purposes). His prices are also reasonable and if you’re interested, he’s willing to help push you out of the «maybe» category and into the «buy» with regards to the price
Plenty of fantastic items to choose from ranging From old knives (army style) to old pieces of furniture (my wife is still thinking about going back for a rocking chair). This place isn’t as big and doesn’t have as many items as some of the other shops but it does some nice quality looking stuff and an owner willing to take time to explain it to you (didn’t encounter that at many stores)
