First Bapt Church of Cold Spring

I drive by this place each day on my way to work and always imagine how nice it would be to stop in and worship there. Yesterday (Sunday) I needed to work and on my way saw that the congregation was on their way in. People were smiling and conversing and it appeared they were very much pleased to be attending. Work was complete early yesterday so on my way home I stopped in for evening service. Come to find out I was about 30 minutes early but I went in anyway and mingled with some of the gentlemen who apparently came early to do just that. Very friendly and personable folk there. As others came in, I was greeted warmly by each one as they passed and never even realize that I was wearing a ball cap and smelly jeans (from working that day). These people were the real thing! The lesson was well thought out and came from Acts 4:5−14. The title could have been «What’s in a name.» The Worship Leader pointed out 6 things found in the name of Jesus (Authority vs. 5 – 7, Ability vs. 8 – 10, Acceptance vs.11, Adequacy vs.12, Amazement vs.13 and Absolve vs. 14). I believe this was part of a series in that only the first was covered, but notes were available for further study so that worked out well. This was interactive and a couple of the scripture verses shared by those attending were Romans 5:2, and Galatians 6:9 both appropriate for the topic. I left the church with re-​newed hope feeling as though I had been administered to by the Holy Spirit. Thank you Cold Springs for being faithful … even to a stranger who was wearing a ball cap in doors and smelling of hot dogs. :) I would recommend you to anyone who is in need of Christian fellowship and craving Audible Words from God (the bible read out loud).
