We love craft beer(live in Portland and are home brewers). This brewery earns the 5 stars. Nicely done space, inside and outdoor seating — high tables & chairs, with overhead heaters all the way around — great for chilly day. The beers were spot on, server could answer our questions, and got us a couple of tasters, we were more than happy with our choices(here for a week and have been back 2 more times). We also had the charcuterie plate — excellent. Especial kudos for whomever created the Sriracha sautéed mixed nuts — we were putting them on everything and eating them off a spoon. Everything else in the platter was very good also, but oh those nuts!

My review is only about the beer and the service — we didn’t have any food. I love the atmosphere. Maybe we were spoiled, but we came by randomly on a day they were hosting their summer kickoff party. We didn’t know what was going on, but we were able to have a few beers in the laid back atmosphere and listen to the live music. Everyone working there was super, super nice. The owner(manager?) was taking photos, talking to people. The servers were all helpful and friendly. It was such a nice atmosphere. I will definitely come back on a day that is not a special event, but if they are handling it this well on a busy day, I can imagine it’s great on a slower one.

I came to this brewery for beer and was happy to see that they served food! I walked in with my date and the place was packed. We stood at the bar, as we had no idea where else to stand to wait. NOONEEVERGREETEDUS or even looked at us!!! There were three ladies who came in and out of the bar who never even said a word to us. Finally after 10 or so minutes we walked out. As we walked out, an older couple was walking in and they were greeted IMMEDIATELY. I was terribly disappointed and honestly, offended.

Although Selkirk Abby has probably my favorite beer in the area, Daft Badger has been my favorite brewery experience so far with their combination of good beer, food, and atmosphere. Daft’s beer is a bit more on the alcoholic side with abv between about 6 and 10%, but you can soak it up with a tasty plate of nachos(featuring blue chips, feta cheese, jalapenos, and chipotle sour cream).

Wow — a definite must try. My hubby loves the amazing beers and I love the food. Salads are amazing and when I feel like something hearty their Mac and cheese is incredible.

Good food. Better beer. Great atmosphere. The bacon is fantastic. The nacho plate is big enough for four people. You won’t be disappointed here.

Shocked I haven’t been here sooner. Stopped by with my business partner and then with co-workers on 3 different visits. A huge eye opener for Coeur d’Alene, What a GREAT little brewery! Atmosphere is laid back and casual, yet clean and somewhere you could hang out and lose track of time while catching up with friends. The indoors is warm and inviting. The outdoor patio opens up for the nice weather, or heavy clear covers come down with plenty of heaters to keep you warm if you want to sit outside. Beer, the selection of beer is amazing. There is literally something for everyone. I’m not much of a hop fan so I stay away from IPA’s and more of a wheat and stout fan while my business partner is a fan of the IPA’s. The beer does not disappoint. We tried multiple flavors over our visits. Each one is flavorful and truly a beer to enjoy. My business partner loved the Summer’s Envy while my favorite is between Clairvoyant and the Burbon Stout. Also the fact they do small batch releases on Wednesday, simply the best concept in brewing. You can come by and try what the brewers have dreamed up that week. If you love beer, how does it get better than this! Food, we tried several different options over our 3 visits. Given, there is a bacon theme in a lot of the food. I’m a strong believer in, do you know what goes great with bacon? More bacon! The«Not Your Mothers BLT» was awesome, as well as the smoked turkey sandwich. A co-worker LOVED the Mac and Cheese. Everything we tried was great, fresh and light. I’ve heard we need to try the Bacon appetizer next time we’re back. Service, I’ll admit this is a pet peeve of mine from working in the restaurant industry. Daft Badger passes with flying colors. The staff is friendly and offers recommendations. At times it can get busy in there but the servers are on top of it and friendly and smiling the whole time. It’s welcoming and makes you want to come back. We will be back again for sure and may have found our new favorite local brewery to stop any time of year. If you’re a local or traveling through, I’d put this on your must stop by list.

Stopped here for a quick lunch. I got the turkey sandwich it was good but overpriced. My husband got the pork sandwich it was cold and also wasn’t worth the price. Rather expensive for what you get. Service was ok, but all in all not impressed. Edit: the owner replied to my review and was very nice and apologetic about the negatives. Would try again if we find ourselves back in Idaho.

Who would have thought this awesome little place would be where it is! We came in for my best friends birthday and we will be back again for sure! We sat outside on the patio to enjoy the sunny winter day. They had the heaters on which made it comfortable. Our food was excellent and so was the beer. The service was great too!

I had a flight of 5 — pale les and IPAs and loved every one. I had a hard time deciding what to get a pint — yet alone what to get a growler of. I’m visiting from out of state. I sure wish I were local. Oh, and the Mac n cheese was amazing.

A friend of mine introduced me to this place in our local town. It is situated in the middle of a residential neighborhood so it’s a little bit odd in this location, but you quickly forget about that once you’re inside and begins sampling there beers made on site. They have a very interesting menu and all of it so far has been tasting both times that I have visited. When you visit, be sure to try the bacon appetizer… It is bacon with huckleberry on it and it is simply decadent, especially if you’re a bacon lover. It is not the bacon that is thin and crispy, but rather it is thick, fat, chewy bacon coated in a huckleberry syrup that seems to has been baked on the bacon. This is a refreshing alternative to the usual places in Coeur d’Alene, and they seem to have a little bit of a cult following, which is well deserved given the quality of food, friendly atmosphere, and unique beers.

I prefer to write a review, after I have been to a place, at least two times and this review, is long overdue! Ever since Daft Badger opened, in the quirky little residential area where it is located, my friends and I, have made it one of our go-to spots, for a Friday evening, or a birthday celebration. It has a very welcome atmosphere, lively, fun and chill, all at the same time. Aside from hosting their own delicious brews, they also carry several other local brews and ciders(which I appreciate; local, local, local!). And the pub inspired food offerings are no disappointment! We always order a couple pints of bacon and some pulled pork sandwiches(so good!). I am also always impressed with the service, no matter how busy it is. Daft Badger definitely deserves every inch, of those 5 stars!

We were just in town for an afternoon and stopped here based on the Unilocal reviews. Did not disappoint! It was a beautiful 70-degree early fall day, and we sat out on their lovely patio. FYI it is dog-friendly, but use your judgement. The tables are bistro-height and quarters are close — depending on how your pooch handles public, your mileage may vary. Our almost-two-year-old boxer loved it. They provided a dog water bowl. The neighborhood is half residential half small-scale industrial, so it was very quiet and peaceful. The beers were excellent! I wish we’d done a taster to try them all, but we did sample/drink their seasonal pumpkin ale, the amber ale, the Badger’s Bounty IPA, the pale ale and their stout. All good! We each ordered a sandwich, and I was very impressed that instead of serving fries they give you the choice of one of their three salads for your side. I had the arugula, husband had the mixed greens and they were both very good. A refreshing change of pace from the usual pub fare! If salad is not your jam, you can have Tim’s potato chips. Husband’s pulled pork was excellent — not too sweet or too wet, common failings of the pulled pork masses. My sandwich was brie, green apples, smoked bacon and spinach on sourdough and it was bomb. In short, just go here! PS: Major props to our waitress. She was clearly not a huge fan of dogs, but didn’t slack on service or blink an eye at having to step over our lazy 60lb pooch to get our stuff to us. Her professionalism and friendliness were a big asset to our visit.

Attended for lunch in July 2015. I had a beer flight and tried a cider. All of the brews were excellent. My companion and I shared the nachos, which likewise were among the best nachos I have had at any establishment. I am not likely to return to the area any time soon, but would definitely return to this brewery if in Coeur d’alene again.

Sat outside on a sunny afternoon. Staff was great, as was their IPA. The BLT had great bacon, caramely and sweet. Salad with garbanzo beans and goat cheese rocked. Nice new spot for better than average pub grub. :-)
