I waited two weeks to get an appointment with Dr. Burns to be my new primary care physician. I really needed him to write me a prescription for an MRI immediately so that I could have it when I go to my pain management doctors in Austin in five days. Last night, at 8:09PM, I received a phone call asking to change my appointment from 9AM to 11:30AM today. I agreed, and arrived on time. I was informed by the nurse at the desk that I was over an hour late in a very rude manner. I disagreed and explained to her about the phone call and my appointment time change that happened last night, and she got on the phone. The conversation seem to make it sound like I was the one in the wrong. What she got off the phone, she gave me new patient paperwork but made it seem as if it was going to be a big favor for me to go see the doctor today. I was also told that I would be squeezed in and that all of the rooms were full right now. I filled out my new patient paperwork and the more I thought about it the more angry I got. So I finish my paperwork, took it up to the desk, and informed who I believe to be the main nurse that they could go ahead and reschedule my appointment. It’s going to be another two weeks, therefore making me miss getting my MRI to take to my pain management doctor so that I can get referred to a spinal surgeon. This is something I’ve been waiting for for almost a year. If they think they were going to be inconvenienced by my appointment today, they were sadly mistaken. I’m the one inconvenienced. I hope my treatment is much better when I come back in two weeks. This is not a good way to start out a brand-new patient-doctor relationship.
