Sadly after several decades of serving the Clinton MA area it has closed. This was a Great local place to grab a bite to eat or drink a pint if your in the area. This was one of my favorite spots to eat at. I always enjoyed my experience at The Old Timer. Although in need of a cleaning and renovation, the staff was always very friendly and the food was always decent.

Clearly the choice of Central Massachusetts. Not one of those hoity toity«paint your plate with sauces but forget to serve you real food» places! The OT is down home good eats with super friendly servers! The new menu is great, and their beer selection, tho rather small, is quite good. Prices are very good. Remember, don’t expect the Ritz, this is a place to go when you want good food served simply and friendly!

Its like stepping back in time to a tavern from the 1800’s. We went to the restaurant part of it and enjoyed a large meal. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Enjoyed listening to a live pianist playing a selection of tunes while enjoying our dinner. Thank you for your hospitality

Love this place. Everytime the food is good and the bar setting is tight and friendly. Magners with ice is the way to go. My wife and I stop in every two weeks for a local dinner and a few beers.

We went there with a party of nine and everyone was very friendly. The place was clean but the interior is a little outdated but had charm and I liked the dark wood. It is a traditional irish pub. On Sundays they have a carving station and buffet with live entertainment from 4pm to 8pm. I had boneless chicken with supreme sauce it reminded me of il camino chicken picatta and it was good. Will I go there again? Absolutely, but next time I will get dessert too.

We love this place. Great food and drinks in a fun atmosphere. Hot rolls to start and then excellent salads. The entrees are delicious and fresh. Best margaritas I have ever had — strange because this is an Irish place. The service is always prompt and courteous. We have been there many times and will always go back for more. Excellent!

Not a very nice place. Actually a bar in real sense for Irish folks, which is great as a bar. Food was nothing special. Facility is old and badly in need of an upgrade. Toilets were dirty. Without hand towels or soap less than an hour after opening. I wonder how employees washed their hands. We won’t be going back.

Good food. Good service. Good drinks. Can’t complain. It’s super dark and you can tell it has been around forever and a day. They’ve gotta be doing something right. It was busy on a Saturday night and the waitress was friendly and competent. The live piano music was lovely as well. We’ll be back!

Best pub in town! Great food, great staff, fairly reasonable prices, and overall an excellent restaurant! Highly recommend; an old town favorite!

The old Timer has a bar and a restaurant that are separate. I have only been to the restaurant. Inside I found it to be very dark, and I don’t mind a dark atmosphere but I felt it was too dark. It was dark enough that I could not tell if it was clean or not. It is a local favorite, but I am not a fan of the food. I feel like I could do better cooking at home myself and feel more comfortable.

This place has been around forever and it shows. The last time I visited as always with my extended family we had a large table and was seated in a timely manner yet the lighting fixtures had cobwebs over them, the entire place needs to be cleaned! Overall I’m not pleased with the place because I ordered a piece of fish and it was skanky! I’ve visited countless times before and ordered your typical fish and veggies, steak and potatoes, potpie, etc. with the fish I didn’t even make it to the car before my stomach started to turn. The OT stays opened for two reasons 1. the bar(same people sit on the same stools regularly) and 2. the older Clintonians are set in their ways with your typical fish, steak fries, mashed potatoes, and bland steak. There’s nothing wrong with it if you like reading the same menus for the past 50 years great but the place just needs a facelift, a good scrubbing, and brighter cleaner lightbulbs and fixtures.

Deceptively larger and fun’er then the outside would suggest! The first time I came in here I sat at the bar and looked up at this little window dead center behind the bar, it was open to a huge room behind it with a stage with 12 piece folk band going nuts. We took our drinks back to their dinning room to investigate and end up really enjoying the rest of the bands set with a great corned beef dinner. This place dose it up big with fun promotions and specials so I recommend giving them a call and see what is going on before you pick a night to give it a try.

This would be a 5-star if I knew exactly what Irish food is supposed to be. Still, I know a good pot pie when I taste one and this was excellent. My initial reaction was confusion because I went through the wrong door and found myself in the dining room(as the sign indicated). I should have gone through the door with steps leading to it. This would have placed me in the bar at the front seating. Oh well, the kind waitresses saw me anyway and guided me to a table. BTW, the inside is just awesome. Very cozy, dark wood beer hall(sadly I don’t think their beer selection is as vast as it ought to be). Like I said, I had their chicken pot pie, the special of the day. It was piping hot between a fresh croissant served with cranberry jam. I had to slow down to digest because I was eating it up so quickly. Following my lunch I had an Italian Coffee, one of their many International Coffees. The Frangelico and amaretto with whipped cream in my coffee was the perfect end to my meal. I’m excited to take my boyfriend there when he visits.

Went here after going to David’s corn maze and we wanted a local place for food, drinks, and football. This seemed like to local pub. Great homemade apps(boneless buffalo wings and fried raviolis). We all got pub food entrees(sandwiches and burgers). I got their bacon cheeseburger –super good). My bf got there Ruben and he said that it was great! Salads and their French onion soup was yummy too. Great place to hang with friends for some football and beer for a great prices! I love there touch of college banners of locals who brought one in from their alma mater. Go BiSON!
