While I really want to love Nola’s, it’s hit or miss with the food and the service. I have eaten some delicious meals there, and some that were awful. It’s really noisy too.

Came here for dinner tonight and I was disappointed. Pros: — Portion sizes are huge — we couldn’t finish any of our dish Cons: — The entrée of the day(turkey leg something) and the steak dish were both over-salted — The waitress kept on hovering even when my friend was still finishing her entrée dish. Please don’t offer us dessert before everyone is done. My friend is a slow eater so she felt rushed.

So last night was our second trip to Nolas and just like the first it was awesome! We had fantastic service for starters, being from Saratoga we are used to good service and these people here are fantastic! Two of us got the shrimp bisque to start and we all oredered the halibut special which came with polenta some sort of a squash purée broccolini and greens and a balsamic reduction and it was fantastic. The fish was fresh and absolutely delicious. The greens and briccolini were cooked perfectly and seasoned beautufully. What a nice evening, if you haven’t been here you have to give a try. To the guy on here complaining about the burger, you should know that Clinton does sport a McDonalds lol.

Nola’s is one of those must eat places every time I’m in the Utica area. The fried eggplant sandwich is one of my all time favorite sandwiches… ever. Nola’s for lunch is really great but Nola’s for dinner is a different story. I’ve tried dinner several times here and the food just doesn’t seem to be as good as the lunch.

I’ve been going to Nola’s since they first opened, and I’ve never been disappointed. The staff is lovely without fail, and the food is consistently good. They also have a commitment to using locally-produced meat, vegetables, cheeses, and baked goods which has a community-wide positive effect on the economy. On the rare off day, Nola’s is still better than most.

Nola’s cracks me up. My wife and I had come home to Clinton after enjoying the 4 course NYE dinner at the Tailor and the Cook. We rolled into Nola’s at 20 to ten to have a night cap. The bartenders, who looked a bit pissed to have two potential customers to deal with, informed us that the kitchen was closed. When informed that we only wanted a drink we were told that was impossible. So silly. So inward focused. So «customers are an unfortunate hassle to deal with.» Happy New Year.

The burger is overpriced and I am pretty sure the bun was wrong. Looked like a smushed wonder bread roll instead of Brioche. It was cooked as ordered but lacked flavor. Lobster Mac n cheese for 28 bucks also not worth it. Kinda short on the lobster for 28 dollars but the flavor was great. Service was good and establishment very cozy but the food lacks for what they charge.

I stopped in with a colleague while doing some work up in Utica. They recommended Nola’s so we came down to pick up some sandwiches. We assumed it was more of deli but it turned out to be a nice sit down restaurant. Regardless they took our orders for a Nola Burger and the Tuscan Turkey. Both sandwiches were excellent and food quality was above expectations. I would recommend this to anyone, very tasty. This was just lunch, I can see them being busy for dinner.

I was really excited to try this place after a recommendation from The Tayor and the Cook where I had a great meal the night before. I stopped by Nola’s for lunch before leaving the area on a business trip. Outdoor seating was nice to enjoy the weather and see the town. I found the menu to be a little limited and not overly creative. The quality of the dish I had was just fine, just not a whole lot of pop there. This could be due to the fact my expectations were set rather high I suppose. The wine list was so so, not overly extensive but had some interesting options. Same on the beer options. I would probably checkout some of the other options in town and then cycle back to Nola’s.

Loud, as in I can’t hear you, and wouldn’t move us to a more quiet location even though tables were available. Cigar smokers out front at the dinner tables so we couldn’t even wait. We left and went somewhere else.

This is not our first trip to Nola’s. We have dined for dinner on at least 3 separate occasions and every time we leave, our feelings are mediocre at best. We are in our late twenties and do not mind the noisy ambience and close seating. To us that makes for a more intimate experience to be able to talk without fear of others listening to the conversation. The décor has a modern feel to it with exposed brick that we love. The service feels very rushed. The waiters appear to be running around like chickens with their heads cut off. You can actually hear the stomping of feet throughout the entire dinner service. As for the food… I feel this is where Nola’s lacks. Nola’s pricing is on par with the areas comparable restaurants such as Tailor and the Cook and The Willows– however the entrees are large and the sides they come paired with are bland and do not complement the feature well. We have tried multiple different dishes and even specials and have left each time feeling disappointed. The appetizers are usually the most flavorful and it would almost serve the restaurant better to have a tapas menu. I’m sorry Nola’s, we really tried to love you.

The three stars is to get your attention. We ate there twice in a week, once for dinner and once for lunch. The food was good except for truly dreadful cornbread. I do not know what they were thinking with that– it was so dry it was desiccated. Also it was $ 4.50 for a slice– huh?! Dinners there are expensive but we are willing to pay for good food. Be forewarned it is quite noisy in there. It cost us $ 165 for four people with appetizers, drinks and dinner entrees. During weekday lunch they apparently forgot the order and when we inquired about the passage of time the server barked«you wanted the bacon well done» for the BLT, which was a regular menu item so not sure what prompted the snippy attitude. The lunch prices are reasonable. For three of us for sandwiches and drinks it cost $ 45. We probably will go back, but we hope they take this feedback to heart.

Probably my favorite restaurant locally. The servers are always very friendly and the food is delicious. I love that so much of the menu is locally sourced. I highly recommend the seasonal cheese plate appetizer — fantastic. And the ambiance is great!

Fist time up here off a recommendation for mothers say dinner tonight. I’m not doing it a perfect rating due to Attire of wait staff, and the fact that they have a great thing going in a rural area, and will not take call ahead. Now onto the good stuff. Although when we got there there was an hour wait, they cleverly partner with a wine bar next door called Annex which is delightful and a good way to kill time. They told us an hour Nd we wre seated in 45. They actually came next door to get us to tell us table was ready. Wine selection and specialty drinks very good. Cocktails however went down a limited avenue of tart with a lemon lime kind of theme. Special app Briskit was cooked well and paired nice with a BBQ flavor with apple flavoring, entrees we all tried st Nicholas ny strip, ribeye, halibut all incredibly tasty. Special rib chop cooked well but bland for herb flavored. All complimented correctly Witt tasty sides. Great farm to table menu with large variety, well above average and would easily go back !

First time at this restaurant, had a little bit of a wait but it was worth it. We waited at the annex next door, large selection of red and white wines from various areas, very nice ambience and atmosphere, also served appetizers which were very tasty. 30 — 40 mins later the hostess came and got us. We were seated and given menus, very nice selection from chicken, steak, veal, fish, and duck prepared to your satisfaction Everything was fresh and tasty Service was very good, would give 5 stars if they had reservations

Stopped by for lunch. Very nice meal. I had the fried eggplant sandwich. It was great and unique. Never had anything like it and i loved it. A definite winner. My dinning partner had a tuna fish sandwich and salad that was pretty standard, but good. Service was very nice. Great place for lunch.

A good meal with nice touches in a lovely little village area. The menu seems like it could get a little stale but the specials help with that. Decent wine list and beer offerings.

Ate with friends and family, last night, cannot say that out of six people, nobody really cared for their meal. I had lamb, it was tasteless, others agreed, one even got sick afterwards. Scratch this one off the list!
