Fantastic local gourmet fine dining. Wonderful staff and great food. Expensive but a wonderful treat and a great place for a date!

If you are within 50 miles of this restaurant stop in you will not be disappointed. This is a family operation, our server is the granddaughter, the desserts our made by her grandmother, the grandfather cuts the meats. You would not have known this was an old time gas station because the décor is spot on quaint. Great job put this one on your list!

I actually picked this one blindly. I would normally do a quick Unilocal or Google review before I stopped in. I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I am not one who freely gives out 4 and 5 stars when it comes to my reviews. I am even harder when it comes to hotel accommodations and goods/services. Let me start with the service since that is where the experience begins. The server was quick to seat us and immediately asked if we had dined with them before. She then gave a review of the menu, her personal favorites and asked if we would like to take a look at the menu while she got us some water. Returning quickly she reviewed the options for alcoholic beverages and they actually have a nice list of options. I ordered the ribeye which is not typically my first choice. The steak was cooked at a perfect medium. The steak had excellent marbling, not to fatty and not grisly. She made sure to check on the table and see if we needed anything. When we were done with dinner she was quick to bring us the bill but let us know that we were welcome to take r time.

Worst service of my life! We were seated for 7:30 reservation. It’s 9:20… Still no food. Menu sounds really blah, but I was willing to try it. We’ll see if we ever get any food. I suppose we are a captive audience. Do not go!!!

First time, heard many good things. Service was great, very attentive. My wife had salmon which she said was delicious and her two sides of mixed vegis and mashed potatoes was also very good. My ribeye had great taste but a little over cooked and tad bit tough. The spinach was not good but the cream corn was great. They also had a nice wine list. Intangibles — we were dining at 5:30(they were booked at the coveted 7:30). When I made the reservation she made sure I knew we had to eat within the 2 hours, which I understand and we clocked in at 75 minutes. Also I had seen a much longer menu online but we were give a condensed menu at 5:30; I heard them tell the next table the longer menu is for 7:30. All in all, good restaurant and I would have given four stars if the steak was tender.

Mitchell’s Grille is absolutely amazing! The food was comparable to, if not better than the high end steakhouses in Dallas or Houston. They offer a great wine list from which we chose the Caymus 40th anniversary and The Riddler. We shared the ribeye which was PERFECTLY seasoned and prepared, and the sautéed shrimp bathed in a buttery cream sauce was to die for. The sides of sautéed spinach, mushrooms and truffled creamed corn were exquisite; all of which were handled with impeccable service by Donnette. Mitchell’s Grille really blew me away with the quality of food and service offered in the small town of Clifton, Tx.

Excellent meal, excellent atmosphere, excellent wait staff, excellent chef/owners! Great evening! My ribeye and my wife’s filet were both cooked to perfection. Shrimp appetizer had wonderful flavor and shrimp were cooked perfectly. Great wine selection! Extremely fresh and warm brownie with ice cream for dessert. Cool atmosphere. Absolutely blown away by the owners/chef that invited us to tour the kitchen. Such great hospitality. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. Can’t wait to go back!

Best steak I ever had. Our waiter was an absolute legend, and we ended up having a lock-in with the owner and staff. This place is worth a serious detour if in Texas. I will definitely go back if I’m ever in the area again.

Labor Day weekend 2014 — The food gets 5 stars however the service was HORRIBLE! Not sure if we got super bad service because we were not locals(the locals seem to be getting attentive service) or our server was just inept. The food is worth the visit but only if you have plenty of time to sit and wait & wait & wait…

Excellent food and service! Highly recommend when visiting Bosque county. The hamburger is fabulous, the steaks are always excellent and the sides are delicious and perfect to share. You must get a reservation though. This place gets busy!

Nice atmosphere, great food and friendly staff. The Chicken Marsala was excellent. It’s a small restaurant, so be sure and call ahead for reservations.

Somewhat spartan, a bit noisy, and not cozy atmosphere, but adequate dining atmosphere. Service prompt enough, although not top notch, in other words not a negative but not a «wow» either. But, the food, excellent! Filet and ribeye tasty, actually delicious, after a very fresh, crisp lettuce wedge with tasty bacon and blue cheese dressing. Spinach and grilled sweet potato nice compliments. Nice wine list. Worth the drive from Waco. Not cheap, not overpriced.

Great upscale restaurant tucked away in a little town. This little gem was a nice surprise. Who would have thought that this«fancy» restaurant would be next to an old silo. The décor is really nice with white linen tablecloths. My girlfriend and I split the Ribeye and it was cooked perfectly. My husband had the vegetable plate and said it was good and my friend’s husband had the burger which looked big and juicy. The food was good and definitely Chef prepared instead of by a Cook. My two negatives were even though the service was good, it was slow. It took 45 minutes to get our food. The 2nd was that it was a bit over priced. Perhaps a little more effort into the quantity and presentation would be appreciated even though the quality is there. There was really no garnishment on the plate. After all presentation is a biggie especially when you are in a more fancy establishment. It is expected!

This was a great find in Clifton, TX. The ribeye was cooked perfectly rare with great flavor. My wife had chicken piccata and it was very good. All the sides including truffled cream corn, grilled sweet potatoes, mushrooms and creamed spinach were obviously homemade and extremely good. But the service was impeccable! The gentlemen serving us truly made the experience special. Will definitely go back when visiting Clifton.

Great steak. Keep up the good work. The best country fine dining in the area.
