The food was amazing… ordered the mixed pide and the istanbul mix grill… the lamb, beef & chicken were cooked to perfection… but the service was not upto the mark… had a wait a lot to place the order… had to ask more than once for water. even had to turn around and ask for the check… but the food kinda made up for the sloppy service… will definitely return and hope the service improves…

I never even knew this place existed. I had a chicken shawarma wrap here. It was great. The food came out quickly as well. The staff and service was quick, attentive, and extremely friendly. The price was manageable as well. The décor, table and seating was really clean and looked high-end. Will come back here in the future.

Someone should teach to smile to the woman at the cashier(with bob hair cut). She is like she hates her job and the customers. And the food is not as good as I expected. Please find someone who smiles and more professional and I’m writing this review just because of her rudeness.

The atmosphere is fabulous along with the staff. It feels like you’re in Istanbul with the Turkish music in the background and picture frames of the Galata Tower and Blue Mosque. The dessert is phenomenal.

We went for breakfast Nothing available on the menu! Simit plate no Su böreği no Kol böreği no You eat what you find! I recommend to call before you go since they can’t honor full menu as it is published. Even worse we were forced to pay 15% tip although we were a family of 4! Think twice before you go. Not recommended.

I love this place! For diner-level prices you get much better tasting food and bigger portions! My wife and I were wiped from a day of furniture shopping next door and we decided to eat here! Mind you, this is the first time in about two years that we have dined here(only had cappuccino and baklava then) so when we returned, we were delighted to find that the restaurant seemed to have gotten larger! A lot of seating, and seemingly a lot more food on the menu. We ordered a gyro, cappuccino, chamomile tea, yogurt and baklava to go. The bread was complimentary. Everything was delicious and in abundance! We couldn’t get rid of the yogurt, and we dipped everything in it! Hahaha! The gyro is made with veal, not lamb and that’s just fine by me. The cappuccino and the tea were both flavorful. We had a great time here and the food and service was great. We will be back often!

I have been there too many times especially breakfast. Foods are always on time, fresh and tasty. My favorite is ground beef with egg.

This is the best ever. Food, tea, dessert, they are fanatastic. Kuzu tandiri mutlaka deneyin. Not: peppers are burning with love of duty..

Clean and well maintained restaurant with terrific food and service. Their Doner kebab is spiced and grilled to perfection. A wide variety of desserts too. Highly recommended

There are some places that are a hit or miss but I have to say that Istanbul café is a hit everytime! The prompt service by the friendly staff is refreshing, the food is absolutely yummy every time, and their dessert selection is mind boggling due to the fact that there are so many yummy choices!!! And of course, it’s always a plus that their Turkish coffee is brewed to perfection!

I found the Turkish restaurant in my area! This will now be my go to spot whenever I have the craving. I had the combination of lamb chops and chicken shish with a side of babaganoush. My mother tried the Hunkar Begendi, which was lamb in tomato sauce over eggplant purée. Both are delicious and flavorful. The waiter was very attentive and the décor was modern and clean. I am definitely coming back.

I like this place for a casual outing with my family, been here plenty of times the food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. The one things that I don’t like and has nothing to do with the food or service provide by Istanbul café is that some parents let their kids do whatever while they are there sad but I see this all the time unfortunately you can see kids running around like they are at the park. «Attention» owners this can affect your business some of us go to seat, enjoy food, Turkish music and Tea etc… not to get stress out with all the running and not seating at their tables like some children do. Hope you can keep an eye on this…

Do not go here if you’re ordering take out. The food is first rate and tasty but the service is horrible. The several times I’ve ordered take out from here(whether pre ordered by phone or not), it takes a minimum of 20 minutes for the order to be ready, and 30 minutes on average. They don’t value the customer’s time. It’s as if they have no concept that there is a difference between take out and eat in. When you ask after waiting for 10 minutes they have asked more than once if we even placed an order. I wouldn’t even write a review like this if it hadn’t happened repeatedly. PS. items ordered are quick items like gyro wraps.

Met up with some ex co-workers for breakfast and again another enjoyable experience. In summary: — Very comfortable ambiance. — Very friendly service. — Gozleme was just okay, as the dough was a bit soft. — Menemen was okay too; a tad runny for my palate. — Simit was very good to excellent; crunchy and served slightly toasted and warm! — Turkish tea is so awesome. Tip: Ask the waiter for a carafe, so you can refill your tea at your leisure.

I lived in Clifton for years and never came here before. My friend decided to eat here and I’m glad we did. I had lentil soup n mixed player and a meat pide with a pâté of hummus. The food was not the best i hadbut was very good. But the service u get and the beauty of the place makes this an amazing place to be in. The food was very good but the bread they give u with butter was really delightful. I liked the place a lot and can’t wait to come back here again. This place is definitely recommend as a nice place to be in and enjoy the food and atmosphere.

My husband and I enjoy going here. The Turkish pizza is very light and delicious and we both love the doner(gyro) and adana(a type of sausage) sandwiches. I also like the sigara boregi(fried feta in phyllo dough), but you only get 4 in an order and it’s not worth the price. The falafel is tasty and it is served with a generous portion of hummus. There is plenty of seating and the service is quick; you are never rushed out of your seat and are left to enjoy your Turkish tea and coffee in peace at the end of your meal. *** The iskender is DELICIOUS. I like how they serve the yogurt on the side. The portion is also large enough to share.

It’s was very enjoyable. The chicken kabob, the chocolate pudding, and pida with lamb and cheese was near perfect. It’s a nice looking restaurant with coffee and dessert bar.
