POORCUSTOMERSERVICE! My plate of ribs was significantly smaller than everyone else’s at the table. They refused to provide a proper portion. My only recourse was to get my money back. And the manager never came to speak to me. He was evidently happy to lose a customer and get a bad rating. Places with this type of attitude should be boycotted!

Shane’s Rib Shack in Clifton Park is a cool roadhouse with a great beer selection and a southern picnic feel. Brought my wife and two teenage boys. Great shredded pork sandwich and recommend the peach cobbler.

I used to come here all the time with my boyfriend because he LOVES the ribs. However, there have been multiple times I have come to eat and my burger was extremely burnt and lacking in flavor. I would not recommend this place for anything besides their ribs. If you want a burger go down the street to Fridays! Also the service is very poor.

Ribs are good but cool, not warm or hot. Toast was cold, mac and cheese ok. Drink cups are smaller. Sause is still good.

Terrible customer service. Food mediocre. Prices same as Dinosaur Bones but no waiters. If you want good ribs go somewhere else like Dinosaur Bones or Capital Q.

First Time. Went at 7pm on a Saturday night. No other customers were there and we thought it might be a sign of what was to come. The staff was friendly and helpful. We came for the ribs… ya know Shane’s Rib Shack… they were out??? We settled on some pulled pork, ½ chicken and brisket. With sides of sweet potato and regular fries, fried okra, and mac & cheese. Ordered at the counter then choose a booth and the table was sticky and covered in crayon scribbles even after we wiped it off with wet naps. Served ourselves drinks and got utensils and choose from the couple bbq sauces. They have slushy type ice which was neat. Fast service. The food looked good. The pulled pork was moist and flavorful as well as the ½ chicken that fell off the bone. Wasnt really in love with any of the bbq sauces. The mac and cheese tasted like the kfc kind and the sweet potato fries had no real flavor. The okra was decent and the fries were… fries. The brisket… was like jerky. Overall… good atmosphere and friendly staff decent chicken and pork. I thought 7pm on a Saturday would have gotten us the freshest of everything but I was wrong.

if you’re a BBQ fanatic like me, pass on this place. i’m in town for work and i was looking for some BBQ and this place was close to my hotel so i figured i’d give it a shot. It took me a few minutes to find after getting turned around a few times. When I got in there the place was clean and had a good BBQ vibe to it. the cashier was really friendly too, not a careless teen as others have noted. The sauces were pretty good too. Those 3 things are what is keeping this from being a 1 star review. I ordered a pick 2 combo and a half pound of beef brisket. For the combo i went with a half chicken, babyback ribs, mac n cheese, and potato salad. It’s funny, i went around 4:30 because originally I was going to go around 2pm, but then i figured that at 2 they would probably be selling leftovers from lunch, so i was hoping for some fresh food. what I got was brisket that was probably fresh 3 days ago, and then ribs and chicken that were probably cooked that day, but still leftovers from lunch. The Ribs were tough and semi dry. They probably didn’t cook them long enough on the smoker to get tender, and then they sat around and dried out even more. The flavor on them was ok though, very mild smoke and the sauce was pretty good, not sickeningly sweet like a lot of sauces, but it could have used a better seasoning. The half chicken was way overdone, the bones fell right out when i went to pick it up, the meat was mushy and also dry. Very little smoke flavor on them. The brisket seemed like it would have been really good when it was fresh out of the smoker, but what i was served was half BBQ and half beef jerky, it was super dry and I barely ate any of it, no real flavor to it. The texas toast was ok, but it was only toasted on one side. The potato salad had an ok flavor but the potatoes were really under cooked, they were still hard, I spit a few bites out and left the rest for the garbage. The mac n cheese tasted like stouffers, which unfortunately was the highlight of the meal. I get that it’s a chain restaurant and they serve generic mac n cheese, but the under cooked potatoes and over cooked everything else was inexcusable. People go to chain restaurants(or any restaurant really) for consistent quality and better food than they can make at home, and this just doesn’t cut it. $ 24 absolutely wasted.

Haven’t been in quite some time. Decided we would go tonight. Huge mistake. Chicken dinner plate with beans and side salad. Chicken was so incredibly dry. Tony pulled two huge green things out of his baked beans. Peppers maybe? I had no green things in mine. My son got pulled pork, Mac n cheese and fries. Pulled pork could not have been more dry! Only thing he ate was the Mac n cheese. I got a ½ rack of ribs, Mac n cheese and beans. I didn’t eat my ribs or beans. They were disgusting. Ugh! What a waist of money. Unfortunately on our list of places not to return to.

Honestly, I have seen shanes rib shack for a few years always admiring the outside and never went in. Last week I put my first to-go order in for lunch and it was life changing. First of all, I went to take out but after stepping in I decided to stay. The atmosphere and decorations are so cute and the lady at the front desk counter was super nice. So now about the food, first of all I got a free Sweet tea which was wicked good and a buffalo chicken salad. The chicken was perfect. Flavorable, awesome portion, delicious. For those that have reviewed saying dry, or seasoned. Fist of all they have a LOT of sauces you can just add to how you like it. You can just personalize your own, even in the to go bag were sauces. So stop complaining. This place is AWESOME!!!

The food was terrible! There was no ribs and only 2 half chickens left! The chicken was dry and had a bad texture in your mouth. And the food gave you indigestion and we had to take some tums. For 4 people it cost $ 60 for fast food. I will never eat there again.

Love me some Shane’s The tenders are amazing and the mac&cheese is great. The cornbread is another highlight. The ribs can be inconsistent in size when you order the sampler. But overall a reasonably priced menu vs its prehistoric competition.

Chicken tenders from heaven. I’ve eaten at Shane’s several times. I find all the pork and grilled chicken to consistently taste under seasoned to me. All of the sides seem manufactured in a warehouse in Jersey. But this is a go-to place for meaty, moist chicken tenders. A very rewarding, light crust can be drenched in a variety of sauces. I enjoy the ‘Buff-q’ which is a blend of hot buffalo and the house BBQ sauces. You can order in three sizes, all of which are very reasonably priced and come with one side dish. As long as you get a fresh, hot helping of fries and cover them in salt, they’re a great vehicle for the variety of sauces available at the counter. And this is one of the few places I can find Sweet Tea in Yankee country. When I need a sweet and spicy flavor fix, Shane’s can be a speedy and enjoyable hit.

Stopped by on a Sunday and it was basically run by teenagers who had no training in customer service or how to run a restaurant. A lost art for sure. This almost always translates to a sub-par product. The food was late with no explanation and the quality was fair at best.

Well, the décor is nice and the staff was pleasant and friendly. Unfortunately that’s the best part of my recent trip to Shane’s. I ordered the sampler plate which comes with ribs, chicken tenders, pulled pork, texas toast and two sides. For the two sides I got coleslaw and green beans. The coleslaw was good, the beans just ok. The ribs, under seasoned and lacking smoke flavor, were merely adequate. The chicken tenders were dry and tasteless. And the pulled pork was very dry and under seasoned, if seasoned at all. Overall a lot of money for mediocre bbq. I won’t go back.

I would say it’s «OK» but just not worth going out of your way for. The quality of the food versus the high prices just isn’t there. There are other non chain BBQ in Clifton Park that are far better.

TITLE: «Dry, Mediocre BBQ At Premium Prices» SERVICE: The teenagers who work here seem kind of aloof, which is typical of teen behavior, but the overarching implication is that this is a fault of management’s inability to discipline. FOOD: Meh. My gf and I got our orders to go, and luckily we took some of the sauces with us because they were necessary. Everything was dry and bland. My gf got the Big Dad pulled pork sandwich. While it was an okay size, she said the pork was dry. I ordered the two meats plate and got three chicken tenders and four ribs. Accompanying it was Texas toast and two sides(I picked green beans and mac n’ cheese). The Texas toast was bland and on stale bread. The mac n’ cheese was underwhelming and indicative of premade fare. The green beans themselves tasted okay, but they were water logged. A quick run through a strainer would’ve solved that problem. The chicken tenders were very dry and unseasoned, and the ribs were equally as dry and difficult to pry apart. The spicy BBQ sauce was necessary to make the food sufficiently palatable. VALUE: Poor. The prices are high for the quantity and quality of food received. Unless there are some killer coupons in the near future, I doubt I’ll be very eager to spend more money here. TL;DR = Shane’s Rib Shack suffers from the standard ails of a chain – mediocre quality, spotty service, and low bang for the buck.

On our next stop, while running errands into Clifton Park, we decided for the next stop in our journey that BBQ would be right up our alley. After a few minutes of deciding between the two chain BBQ Resturants we settled on Shane’s. Upon entering we were greeted by a employee who seemed more ready to be out of work, then helping the next customer. The boyfriend ordered a pulled pork sandwich on Texas Toast. As I don’t eat pork I took his word for it when he said that the pork and toast was very bland and portion size for being a «Big Dad» sandwich was quite lacking. As a side he got the Mac and cheese, which in his opinion, was lacking in every aspect of what a Mac and cheese dish should be. I got the Chopped BBQ chicken which also fell into the bland category. As a side I decided on the sweet potato fries that also were under seasoned, which a little S&P fixed. The positive about our experience was the selection of different sauces that you could put onto your meat of choice to be able to decide what fits each person best. This is probably our only trip to Shane’s.

I am very dissapointed with the people running this place. I think they are a bunch of high-school children who obviously lack knowledge on how to run a business. Shane’s was having a special on chicken tender shack wraps in August so I decided to go try it out. The girl on the front desk said that even though they were having a special on chicken tender wraps, the kitchen staff only made like 12 chicken strips for the entire day and they were running low(it was 11 am). I went there yesterday at 5 pm because they were having another special on wraps, the same girl at the register was panicking. She told me that there was a major disasterous issue going on in the kitchen and that they had to close for the day at that very moment and that she could only take care of the customers already seated in the restaurant. To the owner of Shane’s Rib Shack, please hire some competant people in your kitchen who can actually do their job right.

Had a hankering for bbq the other day and happened to have a $ 5 off $ 30 coupon for Shane’s, so we decided to give it a try. When you walk in, you choose what to order from a gigantic menu hung above the cashiers. We ordered a full rack of ribs and some smoked chicken wings with potato salad and mac n cheese. For those who might want a cold one, don’t let the beer tap in the background fool you, they only serve bottled beer(mostly domestic). They also only have pork ribs, no beef. The cashier gives you a number and they bring the food to your table. There were extra sauces that you could self serve next to the sodas. I especially enjoyed the spicy bbq sauce. Be careful, the tables are a little sticky! The food and service was good, but not amazing. Don’t forget to leave a little love in the food runner’s tip jar!

Grabbed lunch here on a Sunday with a buddy. Had the ribs and chicken, which were good. I may have had better BBQ, but mostly down South. Considering this is upstate NY, I was impressed to find a place to enjoy some good Southern cooking with fried okra and cole slaw. Washed it down with sweet tea.
