Some restaurants do indeed deserve five stars. I can’t offer any words of encouragement, or ways to improve our dining experience at this magical eatery. We’ve eaten here several times. The food is consistently outstanding, and the waitstaff is sharp and friendly. You must try the summer rolls. Both the shrimp/pork and pork alone are just so fresh and flavorful. Every dish I’ve eaten here is wonderfully flavored and well-balanced, but I must praise the half crispy duck served only at dinner. Dear God this is perfection. The skin is amber brown and crispy indeed. The meat is juicy and rewarding. It is served in a pool of fish sauce and flavored with julienned ginger and carrot. A heaping pile of perfectly cooked short-grained rice is left to absorb all the juices. Just perfect. I ate the duck with my fingers on Saturday night and I don’t care who knows it. Truly one of the best restaurants in the Capitol Region. All day today, the day after another heavenly meal there, I was secretly wishing to go back we had such a great meal served by a thoughtful staff.

We are in town for a wedding and were told about Saigon Spring. Delicious. Fresh. Flavorful. The service was friendly, Quick and and attentive. It is in a strip mall so don’t drive past. Worth the stop.

What can I say! I have been looking for a good quality Vietnamese restaurant for quite some time. I have been very impressed with the quality of their food, service and atmosphere. Food — 5 stars The I have tried around 7 of their Phở dishes and I have not been disappointed at all. For the price of the dish, you most certainly get bang for the buck. The broth is definitely homemade and the ingredients are fresh as well. I usually start my meal with either the spring rolls or the summer rolls and all I can say about these are OMG! The wraps they use are supple, fresh and yummy, the rice is well cooked and the shrimp, vegetables, and Thai basil adds a complex layer of flavor to every bite. Their dessert menu is small but well executed with favorites such as fried ice cream, Crème brûlée, and my favorite: sticky rice w/coconut milk and banana. Service — 5 stars This is one area that they excel in very well. Once I entered the establishment, I was greeted by the hostess promptly and seated in a clean booth with a glass of water immediately poured out for me. The waitress was patient with me and recommended some excellent dishes that I ordered. The wait for the appetizers was quick and prompt. The time for the entrée was longer but you have to understand that these dishes take time to prepare and execute so it is worth the wait, therefore I recommend a hearty appetizer to bide the time and hunger pangs. Once the entrée came, the dish was visually appealing and smelled wonderful. The waitress was also prompt for recommending the dessert menu and also getting my check when asked. Atmosphere — 5 stars The interior is clean and bright with fresh linen on the tables and cheerful Asian pop piping throughout the restaurant. The have a modest but clean bar in the front of the establishment that serves up in house cocktails and some imported Asian beers. The bathrooms are well maintained and very clean and the there is no odd stench anywhere to be smelled. The parking is very accommodating and plenty of spaces out front for a large number of patrons. Overall: This is a great place to go to have some tasty and well priced Vietnamese cuisine that is executed with timely service and a relaxing atmosphere.

This place has the best service in all of clifton park. Their phở is delicious and i would say lemongrass beef is the favorite. This is my favorite restaurant in the area and the waitresses remember my favorite dish Phở Chin even if it’s been a month since I’ve been there last. I’ve seen them make mistakes sometimes but they make up for it right away as long as you let them know. They always have a smile on their faces

One of Clifton Park’s hidden gems, this Vietnamese restaurant has become a regular destination for me. I have tried most of the items on the menu at this point and have never left unsatisfied. The prices are very reasonable, and they even have a great selection of wine and craft beer. I am never surprised to see that the dining room is completely filled any given day for lunch. They serve a quality product, and they do it QUICKLY. The servers really do a great job of skillfully keeping up with the volume, and are always happy to answer any questions regarding the content of the menu. If you haven’t already, try it!

My fiancé and I keep coming back for the food and the service. The food is extremely fresh with unusual combinations of tastes. Every meal has been delicious. The hot and iced tea are delicious and the shrimp salad are unexpectedly tasty. We’ve tried many of the soups and enjoy them all. The meat dishes we’ve tried are tender and flavorful. We liked the fried calamari dish so much that we make it at home every couple of weeks. The cilantro, hot peppers and pineapple go very well with the calamari. The sauces are unusual and tasty. We tried the green tea ice cream and enjoyed it a lot. The prices are very reasonable and service is fast and attentive. We look forward to introducing more friends and family to Saigon Spring!

Delicious Vietnamese food. My fiancé and I came here the other night and really enjoyed our experience. We came on a Wednesday evening so despite making a reservation, there was plenty of seating. Between the two of us, we ordered the pork summer rolls and chicken wings with a sriracha butter sauce. My fiancé got the phở with flank and I got the phở with oxtail as our entrees. The summer rolls were decent(nothing to rave about), but the chicken wings were awesome. They were really crispy and super flavorful… I would definitely get these again. The broth in the phở was delicious, and the portions were pretty healthy. The oxtail, though, was a little tough(they could have benefited from stewing a little longer). Service was pretty good overall. We got checked on a couple of times throughout our dining experience. Good food, good service and good prices… we’ll definitely be back.

Having been a fan of Saigon Spring since they first opened, I occasionally like to return to enjoy their Phở. But on this visit I wanted something different. The Chicken Claypot($ 16) seemed like it might be just what I was looking for. Pieces of thigh meat are cooked in a clay pot in oil and soy with minced garlic and ginger. It’s very simple. The server brings the covered clay pot to the table, removes the lid, steam rises and the aroma welcomes your senses and appetite. A bowl of white rice accompanies the chicken, but brown rice is available if you choose. This dish is probably more appropriate to be shared with several others. Not just because of the portion size(about 16 decent pieces of chicken in the pot), but because of the singular flavor experience throughout the meal. Two or three other tablemates sharing different dishes would give much more variety to your taste buds. SS also offers a nice selection of tea. I decided to try a pot of Lychee Black Tea($ 5) knowing that it would be on the sweeter side. That is something I enjoy. They use loose tea leaves that are placed in a bowl shaped screen that sits inside the pot, so you can let it steep for awhile to get stronger and not end up with leaves in the bottom of your cup after you pour. The only downside is that if you like your tea on the weaker side and decide to remove the screen bowl, you’ll have to ask for a plate to place the screen and tea leaves on. Service is very pleasant and friendly and there is a nice variety of Vietnamese dishes to choose from.

Heard about this restaurant from a co-worker and it works. I had the crispy vegetarian spring rolls to start. They were good, nothing special, but what I would expect. For my main dish I had the Sauteed Spicy Lemongrass Beef. Good flavor and plenty of food. A little salty, but many restaurants like this tend to have dishes a little more on the salty side. Overall a good experience, I would be back.

Not enough servers! We had to wait for nearly 10 – 15 minutes before our server took our order. The three servers were running around and clearly overwhelmed. This is a busy restaurant with good food – please hire more servers! You obviously have the means to do so.

The place looks OK, yet there was not enough servers, food has too much MSG, and tend to overcharge customers. We were there Jan. 3, 2016, which was a Sunday, around 6pm, six of us. They were not that busy, and after we closed the menu for 15 minutes, no one came to take our order. We waited, and I had to speak out to ask for a server. Later on, we ordered spring rolls and soup with phở, found that too much MSG was in them, our head feeling funny and sleepy and mouth tasted funny. When the check came, we saw there was a 20% surcharge on it. It was not written on their menu for a surcharge though, and it was on top of the 9% tax rate. That doesn’t seem right, cause service charge should be on services only, not over the high taxes too. Seems like they are not honest about that, guess not a good idea for big group to go there.

Shortly after it opened, Saigon Spring became our go-to Vietnamese restaurant in the area. The food is delicious, but importantly, the service is friendly, helpful with suggestions and always well-paced no matter how busy the restaurant is. We completely abandoned another area Vietnamese restaurant after waiting over an hour between ordering and having food arrive(simple bowls of phở!) for very hungry and cranky kids(and adults) despite the restaurant having excellent food. In addition, Saigon Spring is impeccably clean from the bar area to the dining room to the restrooms. Back to the food, everything we have had has been good and most items have been great. Everything is flavorful, well-presented and portioned generously. Every meal starts with crispy spring rolls which are always piping hot, perfectly crispy and never greasy. Most nights we order a pot of the lychee tea to enjoy through the meal(always promptly refilled, if needed) though sometimes get the iced tea when the weather is warm. The kids alternate between noodle soup and the crispy half chicken. The bowl of soup is so big that it easily gives an adult a nice lunch the next day. We like the curry(chicken or shrimp), pork slices over vermicelli, the shaking beef and everything with lemongrass we have tried. New items pop up on the menu from time to time so it’s always worth taking a close look. A recent discovery was the shrimp and wonton soup. I should have typed this up after dinner. I’d love to be enjoying Saigon Spring now.

We have been going to Saigon Spring for about five years. I can say they have great food(Vietnamese with a modern fusion twist). They have good service and are attentive on a consistent basis. We like the beef over vermicelli with spring rolls for comfort food. Their noodle soups are always nice and fresh. My guilty pleasure is their curry chicken. They had to raise their prices a bit lately but it is still a good value for the money. I’m writing this at 3:21 in the morning — now I’m hungry for the lunch menu.

Having moved to Mechanicville last year and being too lazy to hoof it down to Albany for phở, I was thrilled to learn of Saigon Spring in Clifton Park a few months ago. My Sweetheart and I have eaten there a couple times now; all great experiences. We’ve enjoyed the summer rolls and Phở Bo. The boyfriend really liked his lemongrass mussels and we both love the beef carpaccio. An enormous bowl of Phở will run you 9 – 10 bucks and most entrees 13 – 18. I had a lemongrass grey goose martini last visit that was delicious. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated and extremely clean and the waitstaff is by far the friendliest I’ve encountered in any Vietnamese restaurant. We’ll definitely be back.

First time at Saigon Spring last night. Meh. I’m sure when I go back a second time I’ll have a better experience. We ordered the crispy spring rolls(4) to start. They were so tiny! Dipping sauce was tasteless. Pickled veg on the side was good. I ordered the shaking beef based on Unilocal reviews. I was seriously disappointed! The portion size was extremely small: six small squares of filet mignon; I’m talking less than 1 inch pieces. It was«fluffed» with grilled onions and watercress. Sauce on the side was basically lime juice, which is fine. The beef had a nice grilled flavor but the portion was severely inadequate. Wouldn’t recommend. It was nothing special. Hubs got the noodle stir fry with chicken. It was tasty; similar to a pad thai. His portion size was substantial. Our waters weren’t filled once. Friendly service and the food came out quickly. I’m looking forward to going back for the phở and stuffed chicken wings.

Yes it’s a little out of the way but I knew there would be great things to come from this place when I saw it was located in a strip mall next to a Halal market(which I will be back for on another visit). We were seated immediately and service from start to finish was excellent. We started out with apps including the fried octopus(served with sweet pineapple and spicy jalapeño) and shrimp spring rolls. The spring rolls were excellent and I could have made a whole meal out of those although I’m glad that I didn’t because every part of this meal got better. I ordered the scallops, shrimp, eggplant, lemongrass and crispy egg noodles. Mind blown — the sauce was delicate and sweet, the vegetables fresh, the noodles enticing. Phenomenal! The grilled beef dish was also good. Savory and flavorful. Lastly the duck was very tender as well. So if you’re looking for good Vietnamese this should be at the top of your list.

After reading other great reviews, we decided to come here for dinner and get our much-needed Vietnamese fix. We were not disappointed. From the hostess to the servers, the services was friendly, efficient and excellent. The food was no slouch either. We decided to go Family style and ordered spring rolls and summer rolls to start. Both were delicious. The spring rolls were perfectly crunchy on the outside with steaming hot and tasty pork filling on the inside. The summer rolls were generously stuffed with rice vermicelli, sprouts, and shrimp but of course lighter, as they are not fried. For main dishes, we shared the lemongrass beef and the crispy duck. Both were excellent, but my dad and I liked the duck best. For dessert, we shared the fried banana and vanilla ice cream. Everything was plated beautifully. I ordered a Singapore Sling-it was strong, but tasty. Others got Thai iced tea(should have gotten the Vietnamese coffee, but they’d have been up all night). We had arrived at the right time. The place was jam packed starting at 6pm. Clearly the locals know where to eat. As fans of vietnamese cuisine, it was nice to find this great place near our hotel.

Wonderfully fresh flavors, prompt service and reasonable prices in Clifton Park. Bypass the wall to wall chains and find Saigon Spring on a strip mall off Rt 9 across from The Crossings. Fine craft beer selection, Thai ice tea, sticky rice and crème brûlée for dessert. Excellent vegetarian entrees and crispy duck. Try the summers rolls, spring rolls or crispy calamari appetizers. Great addition to the Capital District’s more diversified dining scene.

What fast paced service! We went during dinner time about 35 diners to service with only 3 waiters. We got to our tables quickly. Orders came within 10 minutes with appetizer and our Phở soup. Flavors were good but I do perfer for a more beefer broth. Check swiped and signed in 5 minutes! What speedy service! Prices on the Phở is quite expensive imo.
