I enjoyed my experience for the most part. The food was delicious I had the Almost Healthy Skillet and split an order of their Cinnamon Roll Pancakes. I was really pleased with my meal and we had a very friendly waitress. The only frustration we had was a long wait. We were offered to sit at the bar but when a family of 6 comes in we do not want to be dispersed through out the bar. The do not have great sitting for large parties. Only a few settings for big parties and the parties that were occupying those seats were finished and would not leave. We ended up waiting about 30 minutes for them to wrap up their conversations. Rude on their part not on the restaurant. The staff was trying everything possible to get them to leave, cleaned the table, gave them their bill, etc. I would go back again in the future.

Ah, Jimmy’s Egg, I so wanted to be impressed by you. Unfortunately, that was not to be. First of all, let me give you a little bit of background history of me and Jimmy’s Egg. When I used to live in Oklahoma City in the 1980s, there was a little dive of a restaurant, started by Vietnamese immigrants in a rundown part of town, in an old hamburger stand that had been retasked as a breakfast and lunch place. Jimmy’s Egg, on 10th and May in OKC, was the first of what now seems to be a large franchise business(with one franchise in Clifton Park.) I happened to live in Edmond, OK at the time, and would think nothing of driving 25 miles each way, because there restaurant spoke to me: Good food, lots of it, and biscuits and gravy. The biscuits and gravy turned me from a disbeliever in B/G into a proselytizer. The biscuits were made in house, a buttermilk biscuit, almost cake-like in consistency, and a perfect match for the sausage gravy(served in a large cup). Since moving away, I dreamed about those biscuits. I spent a lot of time and effort trying to recreate them, and have, after many attempts, learned to make a pretty good approximation. A few weeks ago, while attending a meeting in Clifton Park, I stumbled across the Unilocal listing for Jimmy’s Egg. I bookmarked the location, planning to visit and see if it lived up to my memory… Today, I made the visit. Sadly, I must report that the franchise does not hold a candle to the original. I ordered an omelet with B/G as one of the sides, home fries as the other. Black coffee as a drink. The biscuits were not house made, think of frozen Pillsbury biscuits you can buy at Walmart or Sams Club. The gravy was thick and hot. The home fries were burned black on some sides, uncooked on other sides. The omelet, while large, seemed to lack any flavor. The coffee, at least, was strong, but not too strong. Bill came to $ 13.25, I left a $ 2 tip. The B/G was not as good as that at the Hardee’s franchise nearby. At least, their biscuits are house made from scratch, not from frozen hockey pucks. The heirarchy of biscuits in my universe is now 1) My own homemade recipe, 2) Hardees, 3) McDonalds, 4) Pillsbury Hockey Pucks cooked in my own oven, 5) Jimmy’s Egg So, now that I know, I will be foregoing the trip to Clifton Park, making a much shorter trip to Hardees instead. A lot of things that I remember fondly from the past now seem lessened by the passage of time.

A very nice place to have a fresh brunch. Our server, Sandra, was very helpful and friendly. We ordered the 5 egg omelet, subtracted a couple eggs and had yummy ingredients and fabulous sides. We saw generally good reviews on Unilocal and a couple nasty ones too. Our summation is that this place delivers a positive experience. Support your local business owners.

I love their food and the variety of options you get to choose from. I especially liked their sweet potato pancake, it was very moist and delicious. I usually get their breakfast combo end add pancakes to it. Their skillets are also delicious. I would recommend the Philly cheese steak skillet. I will recommend this place to be visited at least once!

Went on a Sayurday morning before 9 am. Seated immediately, coffee within 5 minutes. We ordered two traditional breakfasts. Hubby had sunny side eggs, sausage links, home fried potatoes, English muffin. I had two eggs scrambled, 3 slices of perfect crispy bacon, fresh fruit cup and mini buttermilk pancakes. My husband loved his and I enjoyed mine. Eggs were fresh, bacon was fantastic and the pancakes had wArm maple syrup on the side. The restaurant filled up after we eating but the waitstaff was attentive and free coffee refills a plenty. It took us a while to get there… we’ll be back. Prices were decent for the quality and quantity of food.

Service was slow, English muffin was not toasted, tasted like they warmed it in a microwave. The menu stated there was hollandaise sauce, but none on the meal ordered. The other meal was very blah tasting. We will not go again. Updated 4÷18÷16. We returned to give Jimmys Egg another chance. Service had vastly improved, food was tasty and we enjoyed the experience. If it wasn’t for the personal note sent to me by the owner, we wouldn’t have tried it again.

First time being there tried it out of curiosity. It was very good service was okay nothing to write home about but in a diner type atmosphere I guess you’re not expecting five-star wait staff. The food however was excellent respectable portion reasonable price a family of four we gotout of there for 40 bucks cannot complain about that. Have a nice variety of options for breakfast and light lunch we will definitely be back.

We dropped in this morning. well afternoon, for a quick brunch and it’s easy to say we weren’t disappointed! I had a skillet with s’mores pancakes as a side, and my boyfriend had the 5 egg omelet with toast and fruit for a side. We both had coffee as well. For a quick, inexpensive, breakfast I definitely recommend stopping in! Our server was nice and friendly, the restaurant was clean and casual, we dropped in around 12 and although it was busy we had no wait. Also portions were large and filling! My boyfriend, as usual, helped finish mine off and we both left satisfied and planning to return! Only complaint we had was that we could have used refills on water, and we had to ask for coffee refills when our food came out, but it was busy so I understand.

I’ve eaten twice now at Jimmy’s Egg and both times have been wonderful. We had excellent service and our meals were delicious and came out quickly even though the restaurant was very busy. I recommend the Mexican omelette. The owner was there when we had breakfast today and came by to check on how everything was at our table. We found out she and her husband are a local couple. They seem very hands on and we are thrilled to have a locally-owned breakfast place to support!

Nothing special, exceptionally long wait for server to even acknowledge our presence, once order was finally placed, it took way too long, 40 to 45 minutes, for our food to arrive which was really nothing to write home about — not terrible, but nothing special or noteworthy on any level on of our plates.(Three diners, all ordered something different, and one extra take home salad, which, by the way, was wrong although they did replace it but with an equally long wait.) Might give them one more shot, but probably not. We didn’t find them overpriced, but considering the under par service and the fact we were impressed by nothing, don’t know if I wouldn’t call them a good value, either. Oh, and they serve the syrup in those little square packages which is one of my pet peeves. And the coffee is sadly typical of most chains: weak, watery and tasteless.

The second star of this review was earned solely by our server Amy. Being her table was actually fun, and she allowed us to overlook the many flaws of this place. Before writing this just now I read the higher starred reviews of this egg place. They basically say we’re all dying for some interesting breakfast places in Clifton Park, so the fact that this place serves food in the morning makes it rank better than the single star the food deserves. Sorry, fellow Unilocalers, I just don’t think the bar needs to be this low. This place doesn’t hold a candle to Cracker Barrel, as frequently mentioned. Is anything here freshly prepared? Nothing we tried was. The gravy, a center piece of many dishes had the preserved consistency and taste of flavorless white goo. The only food worth merit was their hot sauce, ahogado. If I’m ever forced to eat here I will order it in buckets so whatever canned, frozen, or bagged food is squirted on to my plate, I’ll be sure something will have flavor. Sorry– the food at this loud, awkwardly-crowded(I dare you to make it out the door when there is a line), mindlessly-designed chain offers nothing. The staff was very friendly, but I have friends who I don’t need to pay to wait on me for positive social interaction while gagging on this food. We left hoping Amy finds a job at a better restaurant soon!!!

Polite, prompt service. It’s bright, clean and pleasant inside, quite a change from the previous restaurant that filled the space. Menus cover a decent option of simple breakfasts, sandwiches and diner like fare. The spouse had a cheese steak sandwich with curly fries and a coke. I was a grilled cheese, regular fries and diet coke. Food was served quickly and correctly. It was hot and tasty. Total of $ 21 for the meals, which isn’t bad. I’ll go back.

It’s a very large menu for a place that is only open until 2 pm serving breakfast and lunch. That means first-time visitors require extra time to study the menu. Fortunately, a server came to our booth promptly, after we seated ourselves, to offer us coffee($ 2.29/ bottomless cup). After deciding to concentrate upon the breakfast section at 1 o’clock instead of the lunch options, my wife ordered the French Toast Combo($ 7.29) with her eggs«over easy» and a side of turkey sausage. Her two eggs were cooked perfectly and she received one thick slice of their own white bread and a second thick slice of their raisin bread, both sprinkled with powdered sugar after being French toasted. Both slices of bread would have benefited from more time soaking up the milk before being put on the griddle, especially the raisin bread since it is rather dense. The maple flavored syrup was typical, and the turkey sausage is nothing to write home about. My choice was the Jimmy’s Garbage Breakfast($ 8.49) and I don’t recall either being asked or specifying how I wanted my two eggs cooked. Our receipt indicates that the my eggs were prepared«over medium.» Maybe this is the norm if no preference is specified. I do know now that I’ll never order«over medium» in the future. While the yolk still ran, the whites actually needed a knife to be cut. Their garbage breakfast comes with hash-browns topped with crumbled sausage and minced onion and bell pepper. There is nothing special in the flavors of either, the crumble seemed extra salty and I missed that experience of diner hash-browns with chunks of seasoned potatoes instead of the grinder-looking shreds of potato that look like they came from a ramen noodle factory. My meal also came with a side and I decided on cinnamon raisin toast. It was the same bread used for my wife’s French toast, and was very good as simple toast with butter. Service was pleasant and efficient. Ambiance is typical fast food sit down, and on a cold Winter day I suggest sitting away from the windows.

Let’s see. Pros and cons. My wife and I went out for a valentines breakfast and this was our first time at Jimmy’s. Pros: — Atmosphere — Seat yourself. Nice touch — Staff. Friendly and pleasant. — Menu. Lots to choose from and everything sounds delicious. — Coffee & side dishes. — The company. Happy Valentine’s Day my dear! Cons: — My meal = Meat lovers skillet. HOLYSALT! I love salt but this was a crazy amount. Couldn’t handle it. It did come with a side, which I chose buttermilk pancakes and they were great. — My wife’s meal = Country skillet. COLD and undercooked mushrooms, onions and bacon. Hash browns were not crispy but the biscuit & gravy were delicious. She ordered a cinnamon roll which she seemed the throughly enjoy. For the record I will certainly come back and give them another try. Hopefully the cooks get it together. Also for the record, we told our waitress’s about the food and she took 20% off. We weren’t expecting anything bc we did eat our fill.

All right already. It’s a chain yea, but breakfast places are the exception to the«no chain» philosophy I endorse. That said, great menu and service. Clifton Park has been screaming for a place like this where the sole focus is breakfast and lunch… closed by 2. Do one thing and do it well, and these guys do that. Will definitely hit it again when I have a hankering for an omelette.

I approached Jimmy’s Egg cautiously having read the handful of negative reviews decrying its slow service. Luckily, that issue seems to have been resolved. I ate there this past Sunday at noon. Upon my arrival I immediately met the challenge of finding an open parking spot. This place was jam packed. I had to wait about ten minutes for a seat, but I was promptly served and handed the huge menu. Breakfast alone occupied three legal-paper-sized pages with another two for lunch. Deciding on an entrée proved taxing with all the choices. I finally decided on the two-meat combo($ 9.79) for which I picked sausage links and corned beef hash. It also came with two eggs and two sides. Premium sides were only $.99 extra. Feeling adventurous, I went with one of each: cinnamon raisin toast(standard) and smores pancakes(premium). It was a nice surprise to have real corned beef and not the canned version I have occasionally gotten elsewhere. My eggs came out just as ordered(sunny side up), and the sausage was also fine. The cinnamon raisin toast was thickly sliced and went well with apple butter, which is automatically supplied at each table. I thought I was up to the challenge of eating those smores pancakes, but holy cow were they filling. They were definitely delicious, but I couldn’t make it past halfway before I was stuffed. The coffee was fairly strong, too, which I personally appreciate. For the money I think this place is well priced. It’s a tad more expensive than Cracker Barrel, but the food quality is better, and there is even more variety. It is certainly better quality than Friendly’s breakfast, and they charge just as much while serving smaller portions. Side Notes: Jimmy’s Egg apparently has an e-club. If you sign up, you get a coupon for $ 3 off your next visit. My one gripe about this location is the entrance, which makes the flow of customers bottleneck. If they simply tear down the partition right after the door, the flow will improve. Overall, Jimmy’s Egg is a really good place to get breakfast and presents stiff competition for the existing local restaurants.

I stopped here for a late breakfast during the recent holiday season and was blown away by the quality breakfast food we got. This location is the only location on the east coast(as of now) and Clifton Park is lucky to have it. I really wasn’t expecting that much due to all of the mundane breakfasts served in the area. Cracker Barrel, anyone? But this place is different. Jimmy’s really does try to use quality ingredients and puts care into all its offerings. You won’t find cheap egg mix here — only real eggs — and that makes a difference. Jimmy’s also shows its quality in its home fries, which are simply baked and salted cubes of fresh potato and its pancakes, which are far superior than the usual grease-laden disks that are usually offered. My Cinnamon Roll pancakes in particular, were terrific with a cinnamon sugar swirl baked into the pancakes and a swirl of icing on top. Better yet, they were a side dish to my egg and meat platter(for an extra buck)! So Jimmy’s turned out to be a good value as well. I didn’t have any coffee so I can’t tell you how that is, and the juice is not fresh-squeezed(but still fine). But that’s OK, because if it was, my head might have exploded! Service was attentive as well, not withstanding Greg W. water problems(get a grip, dude). Well done, Jimmy, and watch out other breakfast places!

Excellent menu, with lots of choices. We went in for breakfast and everything was excellent. Great service too. My coffee cup was never empty, which is high praise.
