I always enjoy Mediterranean food because it fresh and healthy but after I have visited this place it made me fall in Love Turkish food! We started with Hummus, chicken kebab and the best thing is there Lamb Pizza!!! The best ever. The waitress said that this restaurant open 20 years ago and it first in this areas. So authentic every aspect from the food and there places. Thump up:)

I’m not a fan expensive lacking vegetarian options except for salad appetizer and bland spinach pie. Rest of menu is lamb chicken lamb brain soup tripe soup baby lamb. I thought turkish food was veg friendly as there are some items but the meat is obsessive. Even the bread has egg wash all over it. I’m sorry not my cup of tea.

I’ve been here once and now I want to try every single thing on the menu. I don’t like to write too much on here. All-in-all, the food and service was great. BTW, I had the Iskender Kebab.

No parking but plenty street parking. Went there around 8. Never been to Turkish restaurant before. Order few appetizers, Turkish pizza, combination Kebab and Yogurt chicken Kebab. It was all great and delicious. Service was awesome, especially business owner was super nice! Definitely coming back soon. BYOB — so bring your good wines too!

You may not think to make a reservation at a spot like this but but it is highly recommended that you do. Also it is BYOB. You know it’s good when it’s jam packed with people speaking Turkish and hard to hear eachother over the din of laughter and plates clanking. This is not a super romantic spot but if you want some authentic and quick middle eastern fare, this hits the spot. Try the yogurt with walnut on almost anything. Only 3 stars though, becuase the water they served us was absolutely gross tasting. Go straight for a can of seltzer.

Came here in a Friday evening around 6pm with2others and got seated immediately. They have ample seating, just simply decorated. Quality food, fast and friendly service. Here’s what we got: Special bread– delectable! Topped with sesame seeds and by light Lamb sish– perfectly cooked. So tender! Shepherd salad– well seasoned and evenly so. Ezme– too oily and spicy Whole Bronzino– portion great to split

Definitely. Definitely. One of THEBEST Turkey RestaurantS I have ever visited. I was hanging out with my friends in the bergen county, and we were craving for something very exotic. We Unilocaled the restaurants near by, and Dayi’nin Yeri caught our attention. Although the parking space was limited, we were still able to park our cars and enter the restaurants. Upon our entrance, the kind staff members welcomed us and helped us to get seated. The waitress was willing to help us out with our orders, and we pretty much ordered everything she suggested. I still cannot believe how amazing the foods were. EVERYSINGLE Dishes we ordered, THEYWEREALLGREAT. I have no doubt that all of their other dishes would be great as well. I wish I could give 6 stars for this place. Because 1) FOODS were AMAZING. 2) THey were AFFORDABLE3) Staffs were super nice! Great Dine-In experience!(Actually, one of the best dine-in experience!

Decided to try something new with hubby on our date night, and we chose this Turkish restaurant to try after reading the wonderful Unilocal review. Since we have never had Turkish food before, we asked the waitress to recommend the dish for us, she suggested we ordered 1 mixed plate which includes 5 small appetizers. We let waitress pick all of the appetizers for us and I love almost every one ! I especially like #14 Acili Ezme, which is hot & spicy chopped veggies. It was not overly spicy so you can still taste the sweetness of chopped veggies. The mixed appetizer plate is very light and make you feel like you are eating something very healthy(but still delicious!). The bread came with appetizer is also so delicious ! For main course, we tried mixed combination, it has 3 – 4 different kinds of meats so we got to try a bit of everything, and among them, My favorite is chicken kebab. It’s well seasoned and it is so juicy. Our waitress is very young Turkish lady, she is very sweet and very polite, I really enjoy dining here and had such wonderful meal. I definitely would like to return again to try more items on their menu. Take off 1 star because street parking is not very convenient in that area and it took us a while to find the parking.

Appetizer: small sampler. We really enjoyed the yogurt/cheese portion(yum), no idea what it was called. The other options were good. Main dishes: chicken kabob(absolutely amazing), lamb chops(top notch), grilled fish(very good). Alas, no room for dessert

Cinar was packed so we decided to give the other 4.5 star top rated Turkish restaurant in our area. I took a star off because of their décor — what the heck? the place is tiny(smaller than Cinar which is also not that large) and is SUPERBRIGHT. It also looks like we’re eating in someone’s 80s styled back living/dining room who clearly gave zero Fs about decorating a place. This place can use a serious facelift. Cinar was probably packed and has far more dine-in patrons because it actually had a nice feel — dark, candlelit type of dinner. So Cinar will get a 5 star when I dine-in there next(but definitely make reservations for that place). I thought the same thing would happen here but to my surprise, when I called them before arriving, they said they had a lot seats available. I can see why now, and if Cinar wasn’t around, I wouldn’t be doing the comparison and maybe DY would’ve gotten 5 stars from me. As for the dinner itself — Cinar and DY are both very good. In fact, I can’t say one’s better than the other. SO thought the lamb kebob was better in Cinar. I think the chicken tasted the same in both places. The moisture is absolutely necessary on grilled meat — this place gives you that, which is simply amazing. I hate dry meat — it makes chewing difficult and the overall dish would lack flavor. Not here, my friends. They really do a great job in cooking. I’m going to have to try the grilled bronzini next time — looked like everyone was ordering and wolfing that down when we were there last night. Ask for their hot sauce — it’s not all that spicy and I love me some sriracha when eating Turkish food, so I was disappointed at first when they handed me «vegetable hot sauce.» Think of it as a Turkish styled salsa. While not spicy enough to call it «hot sauce,» I loved it. Loved getting extra yogurt sauce to add to the raw onions on the side. Rice pudding was also good but if it was cold, it might’ve been better!

Thanks to the fantastic reviews on Unilocal,my boyfriend and I decided to try this place out for lunch. Believe me, it did not disappoint! Service was top notch– the waitress was both friendly and resourceful, giving us helpful suggestions and answering our questions with a smile. We ordered the Lentil Soup, Tuvak(chicken) kebab, and the Kunefe for dessert. 1) Lentil soup: Lemony and fresh. Soup was thick and filling. Paired with the complimentary pide(Turkish pita), it was a great starter to the meal. 2) Tuvak kebab: Wow. The chicken was cooked to perfection– Seasoned and flavorful on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside. 3) Kunefe– the highlight of the meal! It was simply divine– a perfect blend of savory and sweet, and crunchy and chewy. The waitress also gave us complimentary tea, which washed down the decadence(and maybe a little bit of guilt) down very well. MUSTTRY! Overall, reasonably priced restaurant with attentive staff and great quality food. Definitely coming back again to try their special bread and the yogurt dishes.

Small little neighborhood restaurant. I heard about this place from a few different people, had to go check it out for myself. Probably has about 10 tables at most. We walked in and luckily we where able to be seated. A few people who came after had to be turned away since they were fully booked. Service was amazing! Food came fast, and me being the fat ass that I am ordered 2 main dishes and an appetizer ending it with dessert. The server even brought us lahmajun on the house since it was something their well known for. Overall food was a solid 4 stars but the service put them over the charts.

Very satisfied meal — shepherd salad, eggplant in tomato sauce and we ordered Dayi’s Combination which comes with varieties of meat. Our favorite were chicken, Adana and Doner. Very authentic food, great service. Make sure you make reservation before you come. Small place and great food! The hostess even offered us some complimentary baklava — excellent, best baklava we ‘ve ever had! We will be back very soon! Next time we will come starved!

An absolute gem. Heard about this from a soccer Dad in my daughter’s team, so we headed up from JC as we wanted to catch a film in Edgewater. Seats maybe 25 people, nice location, friendly service, very homey with some cool music in the background. And the food — OMG. My wife had the Lamb chops and even before she was halfway through her meal she was already talking about going back. I had the grilled Branzino — perfectly done. The lamb chops were deliciously seasoned and so tender there’s no need for knives. The branzino was serves with salad, crispy skin and moist and delicate inside. Outstanding. We had Baclava and rice pudding for dessert, washed down with some tea for a perfect lunch. BYO! Next time we’ll bring the whole family for a feast. Can’t wait.

My girlfriend and I beat the Saturday dinner rush in this small restaurant. One of the best rates restaurants in the area and it didn’t disappoint. The food was delicious and fresh. My girlfriend got the doner plate, which was massive. I got the yogurt Adana kebob. The meat mixed with the yogurt sauce(think gyro sauce) all on a bed of pita was a great combination. To end the meal, we got the cefene(birds nest) dessert. Never had anything like it. There’s a tasteless cheese in the middle of this subtly sweet warm dessert. This place is a byob. Also, there are limited seats and high demand so there is a potential to wait. I would say it is a tough place for big groups. Even having an intimate conversation was tough because the next table is right on top of you. The waitresses were nice and always had a smile on their face. I would definitely come back. I would recommend this to everyone I know.

Well better late than never for this review. Dayi’nin Yeri serves up some great Turkish food. One of the best Iskender Kebabs I’ve ever eaten, and I’ve eaten my fair share of this famous traditional dish! The Iskender here is slightly different than some of the other Turkish restaurants I have visited, as the yogurt is placed on the side which allows one to mix in the yogurt in whatever ratio once chooses with the tomato sauce. The doner was nice and tasty, with fresh crunchy pita chunks. Well seasoned and fresh doner paired with a nice tangy tomato sauce was another highlight of the meal. The true shocker was that my mother, who is a very picky eater(being Asian she prefers Asian flavored foods) loved the grilled Branzino! Rarely finishing any plate when she eats out, she finished the entire Branzino which was a healthy sized fish too. To top the meal off, we ordered one of my favorite Turkish desserts which is Sutlac(rice pudding). It was a great Sutlac; not too sweet, rich, creamy, and with a nice crust on top. The restaurant seemed to be pretty darn authentic with all the patrons being Turkish. Unfortunately, Day’nin Yeri is pretty far from my house, so I cannot visit as often as I would like.
