Delicious tacos. The al pastor was so so good. I’ve tried it at several other taco places and this has so far been the best. Very flavorful! The carnitas was great but I have had better. But seriously that al pastor was b-o-m-b. The place was also very clean. I would have given 5 stars, but the carnitas didn’t wow me and they had a problem with their card machine where we had to walk across the street to take out money so we could pay with cash.

Husband and I came for a drive and saw the reviews. Decided to stop and give it a try must definitely say it did not disappoint. One pound of carne all pastor, one Pound tortillas a carnitas quesadilla. One coke and an horchata drink $ 25. Can’t get any better than that. We even had left overs to take home. It was really and truly tasty no nonsense. Must visit if in the area. You order outside and can eat in or outside area. The really nice and friendly. I also take of my hat for them. The gave both my husband and I a cup of frijoles charros to try. They were amazing and for a small place this is commendable bigger don’t do such thing.

Excellent Mexican spot, good prices and authentic Mexican food. Not a fancy place, very casual but do not be deceived by the looks, the food is very good! If you are looking for an inexpensive but tasty Mexican meal, look no further, you have arrived! By the way, it is the only place worthy of five stars around the area. PS: Try the quesadillas.

Found this little gem on the way to palm beach. We were very lucky because most of the other restaurants were fast food. We had a variety of different tacos, and all of them were delicious! Be prepared to order your food outside at the cart, even if you are eating inside.

I came a few months ago for lunch with some friends after doing a health screening. The food here is just… wow! It’s a very different kind of hispanic restaurant where the kitchen or where the food is cooked is outside and you get to watch your order get cooked right in front of you. The toppings or sides that you can add to your order is at a stand next to where the cashier is. There is also inside and outside seating. While you are waiting for your order, there was someone who was handing out small cups filled with some kind of soup that tasted good and was a little bit spicy. The little cup of soup was free. I ordered a beef quesadilla and you tell the cook which meat you want on your order. The cook makes it in front of you and serves it to you on a plate. After getting your order, just walk on over to the stand where the toppings are if you want any and find a seat. That beef quesadilla was just amazing and I just devoured it. I would love to come back to this nice little place but it is so far away from where I live.

What a pleasant surprise. We were driving across the state from west Palm beach to Matlacha and« Unilocaled» some restaurants in clewiston. Not much came up but jalapeños. When you pull up you are not sure what to expect. Pretty bare bones. But the food is terrific. Fast friendly service. They suggested the Tacos al Pastor. Excellent! The three of us had lunch for $ 16. The next day we had to go back to west palm so we decided to stop again since there are not many choices and we really like lunch the day before. It was a Friday night and when we pulled up they had moved the restaurant outside under the canopy(it looks likes it was a former gas station /convenience store). It was like a party. Music blasting the stove and salsa bar all moved outside and a bunch of locals and their family’s. Again really friendly service and great food. I had the same tacos. The people there really seem to enjoy serving their food. There is a Popeyes chicken right next door. Not sure why you would go there when there is great inexpensive food 50 feet away. If you are making that boring drive across the state I’d highly recommend stopping at jalapeños if you like authentic Mexican food

Well, that was freakin fun! Belly is full and we bought food to take home! Salsa bar is brilliant and the quesadilla’s were unreal. I’ll never cook them like I used to. These guys know the real secret! The music is loud, but it was fun and festive. We found this place on Unilocal driving across Fl from West Palm to Ft Myers. So fun and so yummy! Gotta go if you have the chance. I felt like I was in Los Mochas again!

Delicious mexican food. The carne al pastor was on this rotating machine, just like how gyro meat is cooked. I also had a chorizo taco. Excellent quality of meat and they gave me a complimentary cup of soup. Good service, also. They have tables inside and outside. If you are cruising on US27 and feel like eating mexican food, this establishment will satisfy your craving. It did to me.

The best I can say about Jalapeño’s is that it’s definitely authentic roadside Mexican right down to the blaring television set, plastic plates, eating utensils and cooking service usually moved out of doors and onto the patio. As for drinks, it’s basically beer or soda pop which you fetch from a refrigeration unit and drink out of the can or bottle. So, you can forget about having a margarita. I’ve had both their beef and their pork tacos and must say they were good, but not exceptionally so; rather exactly what you would get at a roadside place around Mexico City in size, taste and flavor. On the good side, the place is spotlessly clean and the staff friendly and helpful.

My buddy and I stumbled upon this little spot by chance. Heading south on 27 and looking for a bite to eat in lake Placid but by the time I had Unilocal pinpoint our location we had blown through the town already. So I looked ahead and chose Jalapeños. What a surprise! Authentic Mexican tacos. Carne, Pastor, Pollo, Carnitas, corn tortillas… food was fresh and awesome! Next time I go I’m hitting up the Torta. I’ll be driving on 27 again for sure.

Blown away by the buche! Took a tip from the local guy at Walgreens on a place to get some real Mexican food and it REALLY turned out great. Was not familiar with buche(pork stomach) but loved it and horchata. Must find a way to return again.

Driving from West home to East on US27 this is a great stop for authentic Tacos al Pastor! I walked in right behind some workers coming off the sugar fields and their was a line and the orders were long. This was the first chill Florida night at 60 degrees and everyone had a hoodie, but the woman taking orders handed out free pig-ear soup(I don’t know the true name) to everyone on line and it was so yummy warm and delicious no one cared about the line! Check this place out! Yes, they have tables, bit don’t expect a posted menu or prices or any instructions on what’s to eat, just walk in and order up some tacos the way you like them! One star off because they had no tamales, my favorite! The bathroom was SUPER clean! I’ll be back next time I’m in Clewiston!

I am not sure you can get more authentic Mexican than this place. Lots of meat choices. You pay first then go to the guy cooking and select between steak, chorizo, pork, chicken and I think there was tripe, for your taco or quesadilla. There is a little salsa bar that you can get slice cucumbers, onions and cilantro and limes. Little outdoor tables are available or you can sit inside. A little tip– the shaved ice shack is not far away, pick up a shaved ice then come here and get tacos. We enjoyed our steak taco and caritas taco but our favorite was the chorizo and cheese quesadilla and my husband enjoyed the tamale. This is a little gem in a little town.

They guided us «first time» visitors through the menu, gave us bean soup taster and chips with a very mild home-made salsa, while waiting for our burritos to arrive. We really enjoyed the bean soup. The burritos were excellent. Fresh and delicious. All of it, from the seating, to the cooking to the food presentation … very different … and very nice. We’ll definitely come again.

Amazing Tacos for an amazing price! Not fancy by all means but extremely clean! Located in the middle of state road 27 where there are not too many restaurants. I am so glad I took the time to check the reviews !

An amazing find. This place is one of the best Mexican joints you will find in South Florida. You will not find a burrito here, but you will find great tacos, Aguas frescas, fresh salsas. The staff is so friendly which ads to the charm of the place which is literally a dive.

Two days in a row… yes please! So this place is no fancy restaurant by any means… think of it as a taco truck with an area for indoor eating area… if you aren’t looking for ambience, but you are looking for some delicious authentic mexican food, this is the place… you order outside and bring your ticket inside and let the chef know what you like… he cooks it in front of you and serves it up piping hot on Styrofoam plates… they have a little salsa bar with all the fixings needed to enhance your tacos and quesadillas! Come here for the food, forget the rest… take it to go if you can’t do the heat… you won’t be sorry!

Wow. Some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever eaten. True street vendor style tacos in an outdoor indoor restaurant setting. Ordered tacos and cashier handed us cups of beans with pork that was truly delicious. The tacos were made right in front of you and a salsa buffet was filled with fresh toppings. Best stop we made on our weekend trip.
