Great customer service. Very personable. It’s great to still be able to go to your neighborhood hardware store instead of walmart.

I had driven by Cedar Center Hardware many times but never went in. The water line to my refrigerator sprung a leak, and I had to replace it. In the process, I managed to mangle the brass fittings that connected on the fridge end, trying to separate them from each other and the old tubing. I called Frigidaire to see if I could order replacement parts. It wasn’t even certain that the parts they were quoting were the parts I needed. One was $.78 cents. The other $ 25! I was about to head to Home Depot to see if I could locate these small plumbing parts, but I sensed that would be a fiasco. I knew I would probably never find them on my own, and finding a knowledgeable(or any) employee to help seemed about as futile, based on past experience. I decided to give Cedar Center Hardware a try. What a great decision! Not one, but two people(the owner Lenny and based on their website I believe the store manager Ken, if it was someone else I apologize) helped me right away! They quickly diagnosed what parts I needed, and found them in their bins. They took the time to show me how everything should go together. They were friendly and helpful the whole time. All of that great customer service, and my total cost was $.84 cents! I felt guilty, paying so little for such awesome service and help. I was so impressed with the great service they provided for such a small sale. The parts worked beautifully, and the ice maker and water dispenser on my fridge are back up and running. While they didn’t make much profit on that sale, they won a repeat customer for life. I will use them for all of my future hardware needs, and highly recommend anyone else do so as well!

Much more helpful than a Lowe’s or Home Depot. The staff are very attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful. You’re not standing around trying to find someone in an orange apron to half-ass your project, no no! Great little hardware store, would definitely recommend.

Just wanted to give this place some more love. I went in yesterday with a front license plate bracket for my car, trying to figure out what bolt thread I would need in order to do the install. The owner(I think?) comes out and spends ten minutes with me, looking at my front bumper, and gives me his opinion on the best way to install it. Then he sells me four bolts for two bucks. You think I would get this kind of service at Home Depot? Go see these people! I drive way out of my way just for this kind of help. So good!

Cedar Center Hardware saved me twice in the past month.(Full disclosure: I worked here some 15 years ago.) Approach Lenny or Ken with a problem and you’ll feel like they’ve taken your problem on as their own. I think of them as personal hardware coaches. And, they have they have the knowledge and experience to guide you to a solution. Incident 1: I ran some 20 feet of copper pipe in my basement. My incompetence resulted in a basement sprinkler system with all the leaks. Ken gave me a soldering lesson and my second attempt was leak-free. Incident 2: Loose toilet was caused by a bizarre flange issue. Lenny is the only guy in town that knows the idiosyncrasies of old homes around here. Sure enough, he had a fix.

I’ve been here twice — very conveniently located for me. It’s an old school hardware store, a small space stuffed to the rafters with paintbrushes, wire, tools, etc. The first time I was on an all-afternoon hunt for mason jars(I suppose they were out of season) to put my smoothies in — Target, Whole Foods, Giant Eagle, Joann, no one came through for me, but I found a dusty box of 12 — two options of sizes! — at Cedar Center Hardware. The second time, I was looking for blue painters tape because my landlord was worried that the plastic I was planning to put up around the windows would peel off the paint(whereas I was worried I’d go broke paying for heat). The gentleman who ran the store was incredibly helpful and friendly and actually talked me OUT of buying the tape — it wouldn’t have worked. Friendly staff and everything you need, plus a mini parking lot in the back — what more could you ask for from a neighborhood hardware store?
