Steak ‘n Shake

It’s was my first time at this store. I was checking these reviews and we decided to go anyway because we went to other stores by Orlando and we know that the long waiting happens a lot so I went with my family, expecting a long waiting. I went before we were hungry. LUCKY US! We received excellent service and a great food even with almost every table occupied. The service was quick in general because I noticed that a family arrived after us and they were served and eating before we finished. My only complaint would be that the ladies restrooms needed attention. But, hey! It was Sunday between 11:30am and at 12pm. (For me IT was very fast or maybe I felt time flew by because I was enjoying a good conversation (no cellphones) with my family before eating and because we were not too hungry.)

While visiting from Wyoming, this is my first trip to a Steak N Shake and no this location has mediocre reviews based on service time, I was greeted and seated within 2 minutes and my order quickly taken at 12:55 p.m. at 1:04 p.m. my double burger with cheese arrived and so I ordered cole slaw instead of fries, they quickly brought me a complimentary coleslaw. With as many cooks working in the grill I thought my burger would have arrived hot, but it was lukewarm. Tasted OK, but I wish that Florida’s Royal Castle hamburgers we’re still available. OK for the money, $ 6.19 for double burger with cheese, and fries or coleslaw, and a soft drink. Actually came in looking for a real steak sandwich but I guess everyone today is calling hamburger steak.

I have to echo the «wait» problem here. While I don’t consider ANY Streak n Shake fast, this one is exceptionally slow. What’s worse is they aren’t understaffed or overly busy. Just inattentive.

Always out of shakes recently. You’re literally a shake place. How do you not have shakes. Then, they finally get shakes and have no lids so they were putting coffee lids on everything. They have turned into a disaster! The manager stands around looking around while 2 out of the 5 waitresses run around like crazy.

We have visited this place twice this was second attempt. I’m telling you people this is waste. Staff is unresponsive, a plethora of tables and wait staff available. Non could be sat apparently. Does not eat that type of food so it already was going to be a long night with Paula talking our ears off about a perfect mind and body. So I’d buy this place but ain’t bout that life.

I LOVE Steak ‘n Shake but I have to say this one in Clermont has some of the longest waits for seating and food that I’ve ever experienced in a Steak ‘n Shake anywhere. And this has happened on numerous visits spread out over the last couple years. I’m not sure what’s happened in this one, but clearly management either doesn’t care or just can’t get a grip on things to give customers a much better experience. The waits are ridiculous — for seating, for food, and the wait to pay is absurd. Once the food comes out, it is always very good — just what you expect from a Steak ‘n Shake. But the rest at this particular restaurant desperately needs help. I suspect at this particular restaurant, their business is relying mostly on tourists at this point because locals are just fed up with the whole mess there.
Once you get your food, it’s very good…

Hands down, worst steak and shake I’ve ever visited. Literally took them 23 minutes from the time we ordered for two for them to even realize that we were still waiting, at which point they confirmed our whole order and started cooking. As we waited for take-​out we watched countless people come up to the counter with problems with their orders also. Will not return. As a side note, it’s Thursday night at 8:00 and the dining area is practically empty.

I love steak and shake they got great food but the food takes a long time I hope gets faster there not that much waiter they need more but sometimes it takes a long for food I wish they had a great service

Please get new management! The wait times and service are the worst. Drive through is a joke. Sat at the speaker for 5 minutes. The first 2 minutes no one said anything. After saying hello 10 times someone finally said «hold on please.» Then 3 minutes later they were ready! The only reason they get 2 stars is because my food usually turns out good. The service keeps me away usually though.

So, I love steak and shake. For cheap food, it’s pretty good. Love the Nutella shake and cheese fries. Here’s my gripe… Every time I come here, the drive-​through line takes forever. I literally just sat in the drive-​through line for 40 minutes waiting for my food. If I wasn’t so hungry I would’ve drove off. That is completely ridiculous. This wasn’t the first time, but it will definitely be the last time this happens.

Steak-​n-​Shake is all that’s advertised as but then I had the NUTELLA milk shake and my heart wept for all the times I hadn’t had that everytime I’ve had a milkshake and that is a staggering amount of milkshakes! I’m usually not a fan of the speciality flavors at chain places but this was on point! Living here in Clermont they will get me back simply for the milkshakes! The burger is ok nothing overly amazing about it. The place is clean and staff attentive. Would be nice to have a larger bar area (line cooks table) if you are solo but it’s all good wasn’t expecting the four seasons!

Best hamburgers in town! Shakes, too! Everything’s made fresh to order! Love happy hour; the long line is worth the wait!

Jeez. This place still sucks. Stood around for ten minutes. No one wanted to help us or even seat us… or even acknowledge that we were even there despite there being a bunch of open tables. Terrible customer service.

«Midnight to 11am breakfast» was not available at 3am. Grilltop was Disgusting! Worst kitchen staff I have ever seen. Cursed at the server and argued with her about missing orders. Fries were cold and soggy.
The only reason we did not walk out is because our server Angie was polite and kept apologizing for the delay. There was no manager to void the order and we did not want to risk her having to cover the check.

Had a craving last night at 11 pm and my husband said «wanna go to steak and shake for a treat»… «ok» I said. Waited in the drive thru behind 2 other vehicles for 20 minutes for 2 milkshakes. The line behind us continued to grow but we didn’t move. After waiting for 10 more minutes or so after ordering, we decided to go to McDonald’s and take our business elsewhere.

There are never enough employees working to handle the customers. They really need to redistribute sources and be open fewer hours but with more staff. Kids that work here hustle their asses off for low wages and it’s not their fault. Corporation should be ashamed of continued poor service and low wages.

I must admit, Steak N’ Shake’s food isn’t that bad. It’s just it takes forever to get your food. I would be here more often if the service is better. Other than that it’s pretty good.

Great for breakfast nice size portions for a good price. Your selection for lunch and dinner is pretty much left to your imagination. The shakes are really really yummy.
The service at times however is really, really spotty. You can go one day and it’s the best ever or go next and wonder if your server ever cares. Once had to go get refills myself for our party. Server was to busy flirting to worry about any other tables. At times they seem over whelmed by the amount of guests they have. This is more so shown on the weekends.

I have never been stressed out by a meal. Never have I wanted to bad to hug a waitress. This place is a complete disaster, and was unquestionably the worst restaurant experience I have ever had.
We sat down at 2:15, but were ignored for 10 minutes. Our chewy, but still semi burnt cheeseburgers took half an hour, during which we watched terrible staff argue basic logic with each other. Our poor server looked so stressed the whole time. The other servers did too. They need a serious management change at this location.

Insanely slow, overpriced, worthless portions, and mediocre quality. After they finally give you your small portions and overpriced food expect to drive back because they gave you the wrong order.
