Our Memorial day week-end special lunch: tasteless fish tacos for me and greasy molcajete for my husband followed by a strong heartburn. And it was not cheap. Well, at least we tried this place. No mas.

We found this place when we were traveling through and there was so much snow in the parking lot we weren’t sure if it was even open. We parked and went in and were so pleasantly surprised at how delicious everything was… fresh ingredients well-prepared. We will remember this place for sure next time we head over to Seattle.

Skip this place! New owners about 7 months ago and it has gone from our favorite Mexican restaurant in central WA to aweful. I ordered Borrego, as usual and it looked anemic. The sauce was watery and nearly tasteless, but that was better than the lamb shank which was obviously reheated, as the color was cooked, but the inside was stone cold to the touch. The waiter was obviously embarrassed and took it away quickly, asking if I would like to order something else. I ordered a basic chicken enchilada & tamale. It was completely lacking taste and barely warmer than room temperature. As we were leaving, the waiter admitted the Borrego had indeed been frozen when I ordered. If you want a frozen Mexican dinner, save yourself time and money by stopping at the Safeway next door.

Amazing Fajitas… we were a group of 12 who went there twice consecutively, mostly because of the fajitas!

Stay away!!! This place is racist. We came in a big group for lunch & were told they are out of chips. We ordered & noticed that they were serving chips & salsa to other tables. We had to fight with them to get the damn complimentary chips & then again ask for salsa. I would give a zero star if possible. Stay away!!!

A-ok Mexican American comfort food. Like most similar places, there’s nothing really innovative or different, except the volume of food. Even the lunch plates were enormous, which might require a nap before heading back out onto the highway.

Honestly, since Los Cabos switched owners the quality has gone down a lot. I don’t know if it is because I just really liked the way José ran it or what, but these new owners… Ick. The prices have become outrageous. The food is bland. Quality — not that great. The workers are friendly ad the building is clean. If you are new to going to this restaurant –too bad you didn’t come six months earlier. Oh and the salsa now; is gross. However, I am pretty biased because I am so used to josé’s old ways!

Great food and service. This place is off the beaten path and they have great authentic Mexican food. They also provided great service and we’re very kind. Would highly recommend to others.

Love this place! When we go to Suncadia, we make a stop here. Great food and atmosphere from a family owned place. Highly recommended!

This place is great. Super, unbelievably good service. The staff is very friendly and there are a lot of them. There were six in our party and one of the burritos came out a little slow. After it arrived our waiter came by and told us he was comping it because it was late. This was very cool and totally unprompted… and it was really no big deal, just a few minutes behind the rest. As for the food, it’s good as far as Tex Mex goes. Big quantities, good flavors and everyone enjoyed their meal. The house margarita kills, btw. Drink half of it and you’ll be on your lips. Four adult and two kids meals was $ 91, but $ 20 of that was the booze, so I’d say the prices are about right. The restaurant is quiet and clean as well. This place is reliable for a quality meal and it’s 2 minutes from I90 so pretty convenient as well.

What would I do for a two chicken enchilada meal with a Roy Rogers from Los Cabos? Pretty much anything! Even though I now live in San Diego, I STILL can’t find better Mexican food than Los Cabos and I can literally see the border from where I live… The prices are unbeatable, the customer service is the best in town and the food is delishhhhh. Take it from a hometown girl of Cle Elum(instead of the out-of-towners reviewing) and eat here!

Oh, yes! This is what I love. Great good, great service, great prices! There are two Mexican restaurants in Cle Elum now, and both are excellent — though this one is the better option for visiting with friends as it’s not as noisy. I don’t live in town anymore, but I am still remembered(by name!) when I walk through the door.(OK, the owner is friendly with siblings and their husbands, so that helps!) Still, they’re just as friendly to everyone else who comes in. I opted for a chicken enchilada with rice and beans on my last visit(mole enchilada and chicken chimichanga for my friends) and I enjoyed every bite. We skipped the normal nachos appetizer because we were heading to a football game where we planned to nibble on popcorn, so I was actually able to clean my plate for once.(Generally, I fill up on the free tortilla chips and cheesy nachos before my main meal arrives!) It was busy but not noisy and the service was fast and friendly. My water glass was kept filled and fresh, which I always appreciate. I hope to make another trip before my holiday home is over — maybe with margaritas this time! Highly recommend for families and groups as well as casual dinner dates.(Privacy booths throughout so you can enjoy quiet conversations easily.)

Tasty food, good service, family friendly, I was pleased. I told myself I wouldn’t forget what dish I got, but i did. Sorry Unilocalers. It was very tasty– and somewhat unique. Its one of their signature dishes I believe and it may have said something about carne/steak in the title. All I know is it was tasty! The tortilla seemed to be sort of lightly coated in a salsa-ish flavor. Subtle but perfectly executed. The price was a tad more than I like to spend– but I’m cheap. I think my dish was $ 11 or something.

This place is a much, much. muuuchh better idea than Burger King or any other fast food joint. Even if you want quick food in Cle Elum– do a sit down place. Trust me. My boyfriend and I were trying to make it to Ellensburg, but between the snow and traffic we decided to pull over to stretch our legs and for me to have a margarita(!!! snow + ice + other drivers on the road make me nervous). Last time, we stopped at Burger King(horrible idea– so gross, but that’s another review!) but this time we were smart and came here. Its nothing special but it wasn’t bad. Margarita had that typical pre-mix, the salsa was spicy, chips served warm, guacamole was just ok(too smooth, I prefer chunky) and we both had tacos. He got 2 carne asada on corn tortillas and I had one chicken hard taco. Doesn’t sound like much but it filled us up! Service was on point, until we needed the check. We sat in the bar thinking it would be quicker, but it took our waitress way too long to bring us the check. Honestly, it probably was just a one time thing since everything else was great.

Stopped by here because it was close to our hotel. I wasn’t a huge fan of the chips as they were too thick n crunchy and the tortilla soup was extremely bland, even after adding a lot of hot sauce. The service was prompt and pretty friendly and my enchiladas and taco were good.

I honestly can’t even remember if I ate here. What I DO remember is that it doesn’t matter. I ordered the Cadillac margarita and the waitress sneered at me. Then she returned with a margarita and two shots of tequilla. To my bewildered look she responded, «That’s the Cadillac. Extra strong!» It was a good day.

Pros: Salsa, clean and nice lively décor Cons: Food was extremely bland, even after adding lots of salt and hot sauce. Shrimp were small and sparse. Apparently there is a better Mexican place in the heart of Cle Elum, further from the highway.
