The customer service here is stunningly bad. No desire to help customers or do anything efficiently at all. Very disappointing as the venue is really nice. Ok. The place is just very understaffed.

I’ve been here several times before. It is nicely located in the middle of downtown Clayton and has a beautiful skyline. Oftentimes many people only know about Steinbergs so this is quite the little gem of a place typically speaking. I’ve never had a problem with the place until my last visit and always love to iceskate here. On this particular night they had several birthday parties which meant it was a little more crowded but that was fine, I’m not overly picky. BUT, that being said, the guy on the ice did not keep people moving around the rink; instead he thought he was hot stuff and played with the middle schoolers. This makes it hard to actually skate! Secondly, they never used the Zamboni the entire time we were there. The ice was a little rough when we arrived but it wasn’t bad, Over an hour later the ice was super chunky and lots of rough marks were in it from skates making it difficult to skate. We asked the guy on the ice who was not doing his job to begin with when they were going to clean up the ice and he said soon as he looked at his watch. It took another 40 minutes before they got out the Zamboni; by this time the ice was very difficult to skate on. Right before they got out the Zamboni I went looking for someone else to ask and was told they were too busy tonight to really pay attention to the ice due to multiple birthday parties. I’m sorry, but, a few birthday parties do not override the icerink! Get your act together, have an extra person on hand to help, I don’t know, but do something else! That is one pathetic excuse for why the ice was never cleared! However, this is just one experience as I’ve been here multiple times and not had an issue. The parking is very weird and you have to park on the street at meters(free after 5 pm!) and walk a little ways to get there, but that’s ok by me.
