I had a coupon for Samuel Hoffman’s, buy one get one 50% off, I think, so I decided to try it out.
I had a grilled turkey reuben with sauerkraut. The turkey was sliced ultra-​thin and tasted like lunch meat, unfortunately. I guess things have changed since janelle w.‘s review in 2007. The sandwich was otherwise okay. I also got some fries on the side, which were fine. To sum up the food — nothing special, but nothing offensive either.

Hoffmans excellent deli and a Clawson fixture. I dare anyone to find a better bowl of Chicken Noodle soup in the tri-​county area.
I will admit, its one of those places that gets better the more you go and know. I wouldn’t expect someone from NYC to come here and give this place a 4 star or higher. But for me I’m exercising my right to be bias for my town. If you are around 14 & Crooks and want a stack of pastrami on rye, coming here is a no brainier.
