I have to say it. Ok, here goes… I. Love. Renshaw’s. There, I said it. I don’t think I’m alone, either, since the last several times my wife and I have gone with friends, we have not been able to get a table. That being said, I can understand why. The beer selection is good, and the prices are excellent. This prices are even more excellent-er for the food. I haven’t had a bad meal here yet. The Breadzza(combination plate of half pizza, half garlic cheese bread) is a favorite. The boneless wings are very good too. Portions are large, so bring an appetite. On Wednesdays, appetizers are half off(and prices were already reasonable to begin with). The only negatives I can come up with are the difficulty in getting a table(seems to always be packed) and it’s not the healthiest place, as it’s standard bar fare.(I.e., pizza, burgers, and fried food). If you can find a table and you’re hungry for some bar food, there’s a lot to like at Renshaw’s.

The Renshaw Lounge is like sending your grandfather’s musty, smelly old winter coat to the dry cleaners — everything old is new again. This old-time fixture has been renovated to be larger and to actually let in light from the outside world. But it is still an old white guy’s hangout. I popped in at lunch time to see if this was really the place to day-drink in the D. If you are a white guy in your 60s or 70s you’re going to love it here. There were 20 or so old farts in the place and every one of them was drinking beer. Some were yelling at the talking heads on CNN. Others were loudly proclaiming the virtues of a Donald Trump presidency. Going to the Renshaw is the highlight of their day. Just like my father and his old friends when they retired — they found an affordable place to drink away their golden years. The only way you knew one of them died was when their designated bar stool was empty. Patron: «Where’s Fred? I haven’t seen him for a couple days? Is he up north visiting his children again?» Bartender: «Naw, Fred had a heart attack at the grocery store Tuesday. Dropped dead in the parking lot.» Patron: «Oh.» I ordered a Mac and Cheese as well as two vodkas. The flavorless but large Mac was $ 5 and looked like it came straight out of the Sysco food service can. Not wanting to be assimilated by this demographic I ate half the Mac and polished off my vodkas and left. Having said that, the staff is very attentive and efficient.

Great beer prices! Food is also very price friendly however don’t expect gourmet food. Most of the food is solid though even though it seems to be lower quality/frozen(at least the appetizers). DONOTGETTHEMACANDCHEESE. It was awful, just tasted like plain noodles.

Stopped in to watch the Cardinals vs Panthers playoff game. I was quite surprised to learn the music was being played over the speakers rather than the game commentators. I’m a huge fan of music, but it was WAY too loud. I couldn’t hear my date who was sitting two feet away from me. I finished my fries and cookie and took the rest of my meal home to eat at a later time. They also make you write your tip before they run your credit card, which was kind of awkward. I don’t think I’ll go back. There are many better options in the area.

I’ll admit it. I kind of love this place. It’s sort of like a suburban Cheers during the day and then allegedly turns into a hipster haven at night(I wouldn’t know first hand, I only ever go during the early evening). The prices are more than reasonable. $ 2 drafts(23 oz I believe?) all the time of some yellow fizzy beers and affordable pours of craft beers as well. There are a bunch of taps to choose from here as well. They are admittedly a bit skewed toward the IPA side of things and they don’t rotate their offerings as much as some places more known for being craft beer bars. But I’m not complaining. The food is also reasonably priced. Better quality than would be expected from a typical townie dive bar as well. Allegedly excellent pizza. I had a club sandwich, a really good one at that, and it came with chips and a fresh-baked cookie and only cost about $ 4. Have some drinks and a bite to eat, play some keno, watch the game, make some friends, watch creepy old day drinkers awkwardly hit on the waitresses and bartenders. There’s a lot to love at Renshaw. Stop in and good luck finding a seat at the always-crowded bar… even though the bar is freaking HUGE and must have a couple dozen barstools. Enjoy!

Stopped in on a Saturday to check out the football games on the many TV’s and select a draft from their impressive selection. Problem: no one wanted to take my order. When you sit at the bar without being acknowledge while the staff walks by, it sends a message. Not sure why the attitude.

This place is great! So cheap and great food. Above average bar food and very inexpensive. We got chicken wings, 9 of them for $ 5 and a small pizza for $ 13. They make their own dough and it’s delicious! So many drink and food specials! Come here, this will now be in our rotation. Can’t beat the prices!

I love everything about this place. The pizza is amazing, they play great music, they have the best beer deals in town($ 222oz labatts everyday, $ 3 Michigan crafts on Tuesday… to name a couple). Every server/bartender here always has a smile on. I can’t get enough

This bar embraces what it is a Dive bar. They have gimicky specials like free pizza on Monday. Basically they just throw some pizzas on a table and its an all our race for pizza. They have cheap beers and great daily specials. There food is pretty good and ridiculously cheap. I got a BLT, chips, pickle, and cookie for $ 4. There boneless buffalo wings are also on point. The one thing keeping this from being a 5 star is the fact that they only have one or maybe 2 servers working the entire room. Will service is good it’s usually few and far between.

You cannot beat the drink and food prices anywhere! Everyday 22oz Coors Light, Labatt and PBR for $ 2. You can eat and have a drink for less than $ 10. The Shawster is the best sandwich on the menu and you can’t go wrong with the BBQ pulled pork quesadilla. The soups and food specials are homemade. Renshaw is a great place to go for lunch or dinner.

This is a great dive bar and local hangout. Great burgers, wings and other bar food. Very good beer selection. Has a college campus bar feel but cleaner. If you are looking for something low key to watch a bar or hang with friends, this place is a great choice.

Typical bar atmosphere. Great for bar night :) When you walk into this place, you will definitely get the vibe that there is a lot of drinking and partying that goes on here. It seems like cleaner and like someone recently vomited. Not very appealing for eating but I did say that it is your typical bar atmosphere. The food is pretty good. They are very well known for their pizza which we opted out on this past visit. They do have great drink specials, lots of TVs, games, and lots of tables. The food is a little bland for those who like a little spice in their life. You will definitely be adding salt to your fries or chips. You get for what you pay for here but overall it isn’t great or bad.

My friends and I enjoyed great drinks and apps at this place. There are tons of great food specials for the hungry folks. The staff is inviting and the atmosphere is inviting as well.

Exceptional. Reminds me of LA, upscale, yet cheap… clean, good food, awesome bartenders, busy, yet organized. Go here, ask for Simone.

Want Tater tots and a cookie with every-meal as a flashback to childhood? Try it out. It smells like Lysol and bleach when you walk in the day after a Friday or Saturday night, so you know some partying has been going on. The place has tons of seating and many TV’s, keno, pool table, and even some arcade games to keep you busy. They offer great food and drink specials throughout the week and even when there is not a special the food is pretty cheap so it won’t break your budget. The antipasto salad is my favorite — I always get a full order just for myself! They do not skimp on any ingredients for any dish. Plus, each dish gets a chocolate chip cookie — which I think is a cute touch. The service is fast and quick. However, on a Friday or Saturday night have patience because it can get pretty busy and servers take a little longer than usual. They also have outdoor patio seating, which is awesome in the summertime. If you want quick food or a place to hang for a sporting event — then this a go to.

Just straight average. Honestly. Server never smiled but got our order correct, kind of. Food runner got the food to the table but ran away so quick I couldn’t tell her when something was wrong(two times). Some other dude circulating, taking empty kegs out back and checking the bathrooms and such, kept the bathroom clean but didn’t wash his hands on the way out. Food. Well, you get it, the food was straight average. The beer was ok. Decent selection. Fair prices. I’m rather sensitive to dirty draft lines and after one tall beer I had what feels sort of like a hangover the next day. If you have the same problem, you know what I mean. Anyways. Place was packed but simply average. I don’t get it. I just don’t get it. I might go back here if it wasn’t busy and I wasn’t hungry. Otherwise, na, no thanks.

Really good beer specials, good food at great prices, friendly and efficient service(even willing to put on an out of market hockey game on one of the many TVs on a busy Saturday). It is a really big space and is loud when full(like on a Saturday night). Even though the parking lot was packed, we were able to find a table. And despite the full house, our server was able to bring drinks, food, and a check without us ever feeling like we were waiting around. There is an excellent selection of craft beer and specials on some more mainstream brews. My husband and I had a check of less than 20 dollars. Definitely worth a repeat visit…

Went here for the first time and wish I’d tried it sooner! This is a great sports bar. We will be returning! They have great deals every day of the week… we went on a Tuesday so it was free pool day. The food was all solid, delicious bar food. My boyfriend ordered a sandwich and it came with a chocolate chip cookie, which was a really cool touch. This may be a new go-to!

The renovations are awesome. Have not been here in a year and a half. The crowded place seems to approve. I live almost 70 miles away and Renshaws Pizza is the best I have had in a while. We have a place in Dundee(Near Cabelas) called Rivers Edge Pizza and its the BEST around these parts. But around Royal Oak /Clawson I have to say Renshaw’s is really really good. I wished I lived closer… this would be my neighborhood hang out. Kudos to the people responsible for the renovations. You went from cool to awesome.

Since their renovation a few years back, Renshaw’s has taken on a new life as the go to bar on 14 mile. They stay open as late as the law allows every single night except for a few choice holidays so you can count on them whether you want to get crunk, chill or drown your sorrows. The bar food here is glorious for what it is and competitively priced. Everything here is competitively priced. The shots are large and the beers are cheap. Budget ballers can get a pint of Labatt’s for $ 2 or you can step it up to a good Michigan craft beer for a few dollars more. They must have 40 beers on tap. They serve a damn good round pizza that is superior to many local pizzerias and they’re cool with you ordering one for carry out. The burgers are sizeable, delicious and hard to beat for $ 6. $ 7.25 if you get the tots which are a must. I have friends who swear by the Shawster(massive Corned Beef sandwich w/swiss) and monumentally portioned Calzone’s. They’ve also got all the fun stuff to keep you occupied(i.e. a ton of large LEDTV’s for sports, 2 pool tables, darts, video games, juke box, lottery, etc). Renshaw’s kind of lives a double life. It’s a family friendly bar during the day for the older crowd but at night on weekends, Mr. Jeckyl comes out to play and you’ll find a younger set at least a hundred deep mixing, mingling, smoking, singing and laughing while partaking in the good drinks and loud music. There is always a decent crowd there when I drive by after work so they stay busy but you can still get your drink and food in a timely fashion as they run a tight ship. Some of the bartenders have been there for years and there’s a cooky cast of regulars. Clawson cops are always nearby and they have a small surface area to cover so do consider Über X or a DD if you drink too much. With these prices, it’s easy to do.

This bar is decent. A few years ago it was a real dump, but after renovations they have turned their business model into a power house. It was packed there last night! Mostly 20-something’s. The brew prices are ok. They range from $ 4-$ 10. The well drinks are the same. Our waitress was a bit slow. We did not try the food they have on the menu(they didn’t have all those yummies a few years ago). We left about midnight and the place was still rocking.
