Just came here for game 1 of the NBA playoffs with a few coworkers… The food was pretty good as I am a super fan of Bennigans menu! However, much more could have been desired from the service. The playoff game was a late one it started at 9. I was fully aware upon choosing Bennigans as the meeting place that they closed at 11 so I was pretty sure I would miss part of the end. Upon arriving there at 8:30 service was regular once the clock hit 9:30 my coworkers and I were completely rushed into finishing our food and beverages from multiple employees whom seemed to want us gone ASAP. I left at 10:30 well before 11 the closing time. I don’t appreciate this type of treatment and unfortunately won’t be returning to this Bennigans.

Made the mistake of trying their breakfast. Never again. The pancakes tasted like rubber, the eggs like reheated from the day before. Not sure why they even bother with it.

I was a long time fan of the Rockville location back in the day, was sad to see it go. I couldn’t believe it when I heard they were opening one up in Clarksburg. The restaurant is very clean, and the staff is courteous. The Monte Cristo is just as awesome as it always was.

Attended a paint nite there, loads of fun! Ordered a hamburger and one beer. The hamburger tasted like something from a freezer and very cheap meat. The best part was the pretzel roll that held the burger. Paid $ 20 dollars for the meal and left a good tip because the wait staff was super nice. I would return for fun and drinks but would not order food again.

Place is great, food and beer is reasonable. Bartender friendly, place has made a good name for itself since it opened.

I just remembered why I stopped coming here. The food is decent at times but the service is always terrible. For starters my server John spent majority of his time sitting at the bar talking to his friends while we sit and wait for him to do his job. John also Charged my card for the wrong amount then thought he was slick by not giving me an itemized copy. Zero manager presence ever and this is the last time I will go there. I can see how a 3 table section might be a bit much to handle, and that my friends is why your restaurant is always dead

A real Bennigan’s, what a treat! This location is conveniently located less than a 5 min drive off 270. The interior is clean, upscale, and comfortable. The service is also good. We had one issue where we ordered a steak salad and it came out with about half the steak that was pictured on the menu. The waitress explained that the steak is weighed out, but to their credit the manager brought us more steak(literally two bites, though… still kind of a rip off.) The salad was tasty at least. Everything else we’ve eaten there has been good. So, I would still recommend it.

My family and I go out to eat, a lot! And out of the past six months, this was hands down THEBEST experience we’ve had. Pat was our server(unfortunately today was his last day) the food was great, service was beyond great and it was just a wonderful experience!

The service was great and the food matched. Had a monte Cristo that was to die for. I haven’t had one in about 10 years I remember why they r so fattening but so good

I was in the area and have seen the sign for the restaurant on 270 many times and didn’t hesitate to go there. This location is very inviting and has a very friendly staff. The food is like I remember it from before the chain closed. I got what was and still is my favorite, the Monte Cristo and for desert enjoyed their new bread pudding. A good experiance but unfortuantely it is a bit of a travel. If you’re near by then it’s worth going.

Upon looking at the negative reviews, I don’t get it. I had a really good experience. I ordered beers that were delivered in a timely manner and our food came out fast. I split a bacon cheeseburger with my SO and everything was cooked perfectly, the fries were great and it’s a good atmosphere. I was impressed by my waiter and how fast he was as well as his good memory. I definitely received my money’s worth. UPDATE: I’m updating the review and I removed a couple of stars. I came here for a second time for my boyfriends birthday. I called 4 days beforehand to make a reservation for 8 people, I even asked if they do reservations and I was assured that they do. When I showed up the day of, they had no idea what I was talking about and told me that they don’t do reservations. The hostess was not warm and welcoming at all and kept giving me weird looks. Then what I assume was the manager came up and said that they wrote my request on a post it note that they lost. That doesn’t really seem professional at all and I was extremely embarrassed because my whole party was waiting. Eventually we were sat at a table, they worked to resolve the situation which I appreciated. Our waiter was awesome, cracked jokes with us and did a good job with the size of our group. My final complaint is that I ordered the cottage pie and I was so grossed out by it, i couldn’t even believe that I received it from a restaurant claiming to be irish. It had tomatoes and mushrooms in it. I’ve never heard of a cottage pie with that in it ever and it’s my favorite meal. The sauce was thick and tasted weird and I was pretty let down.

Delicious food, great service, always seated quickly, family friendly atmosphere. The monte cristo signature sandwich is worth the visit, but the half order would suffice cause it’s a huge serving! Note: French onion soup is too salty but chicken tortilla soup is good!

Upon reading the positive reviews, and viewing the pictures on Unilocal,I was excited to eat at Bennigan’s. Even though I came after lunch hours, around 2:30 pm, the restaurant was not as crowded as I thought it would be. There were about five people inside the restaurant with three servers. My significant other(SO) ordered the Monte Cristo, and I ordered the Homemade Cottage Pie. My SO requested the Monte Cristo to be replaced with pepper jack cheese instead of American cheese. Our waiter replied, stating that the Monte Cristo’s were made the day before, so we assumed that they were packaged and frozen for the next day. We waited for about 15 minutes. When the food came out, my SO and I were disappointed with the quality. Though it was served hot, the Monte Cristo and the Homemade Cottage Pie both looked as if they were taken out of the freezer and microwaved or deep-fried. My SO did not enjoy the Monte Cristo, as it tasted over-fried and dripped in oil and powdered sugar. My Cottage Pie tasted like microwaved meatloaf with a layer of mashed potato on top. While we were eating, there were several flies flying around us, even though the windows were closed. Once we finished eating, we asked for the check. I paid in cash, and in exact change. My waiter said he’d be back with my receipt, but never did. So we left, and we are sure that we won’t be back again.

Short story: service was pretty good, food was not. The woman who greeted us was very friendly/welcoming and seated us right away. The waiter was indifferently good, but perfectly adequate. So, food. I had a Peach on the Beach, on of their non-alcoholic specialty drinks and it was so cloyingly sweet, I just switched to water, I couldn’t drink it. I also had the Danny Boy Chicken. The chicken tasted like something that came in a plastic bag, premade and was only lukewarm and not very tasty. If they were grilled, it was a long time before it got to me. The potatoes were surprisingly good, as if they might have been homemade. The broccoli sauté was a little too underdone/raw for my taste, but was still better than the chicken. I mostly ate the broccoli and potatoes. Our first choice restaurant was closed, which is how we ended up at Bennigan’s, but I won’t be going back.

Went here this morning for brunch, terrible food and service, I do not recommend eating here. 1) The service: Hostess obviously hated her job/life. My family was a great inconvenience to her. Dena our waitress took at least 15 minutes with our drink order. When it came the coffee had grinds in it, and the orange juice was made from concentrate and didn’t have enough water added, it was terrible! Took another 15 minutes for her to come back and take our order so we could ask for water. 2) The food: Fruit cup left alot to be desired, my daughter’s pancakes were too tough, she didn’t eat them, and our waitress forgot our butter twice and by the time she brought it the English muffin was cold. I got eggs with Colby chesse he got eggs with cheddar, well the eggs were perfectly cooked, but the waitress had no clue which was which. We won’t be going back.

This Bennigan’s has become my neighborhood Cheers. Do note that I sit at the bar each time I visit so I cannot comment on the overall dining experience. I’m there almost weekly and I often see the same people as well as my favorite bartenders, Jen and Rick. They know my name, drink, and food order, and will hold hilarious and great conversations with me. The food is always good and the chef(s) will accommodate to pretty much any change I may request. I love how there’s five screens right at the bar and enough seats to accommodate busy nights. There’s only been a few times where I wasn’t able to find a seat but if that’s the only con, I’ll take it. Overall, I am pleased with the atmosphere, the food, and the service.

Having returned to the east coast after 10 years I was very excited to taste the deliciousness of a Bennigans Monte Cristo sandwich again. My how things have changed with this once hospitable restaurant chain. Lousy service(the waitress asked 4 times if we needed an ice tea refill and never brought it, etc), lousy food(lukewarm appetizer with no sauces, watery Mac and cheese that was cold, etc) and what I find most appalling is the handling of the situation by the uppermost management. After describing my experience via their website’s ‘contact us’ area I received the following reply from, I assume, their manager. All seems well until I tell you that I have yet to receive the gift card or any additional reply whatsoever. I ALWAYS choose to «vote» with my money and Bennigans will not get another cent from me.

Nothing stands out about this place. Service was mediocre at best; however when I say thank you to a server, «definitely» is not the correct response. Onion rings as an appetizer were good, very big rings. I HATED the Monte Cristo. It was just too much. Too deep fried, too much powdered sugar, just blech. My companion had ordered the cottage pie but the server brought him a Monte Cristo as well. We had to wait for the correct entrée to be brought out with no mention of an apology. I won’t go out of my way to return to Benigan’s.

The food was great we had a party of 3 but our bartender/waitress was awesome; the cool chick with the crucial hair was sweet and attentive(not sure how because my brothers were idiots). It was the middle of the day so there were a lot of older folks. We were suppose to be going to the Columbia location but realized they closed the location only after driving for 30mins(i know ridiculous right?). But the food and service we received was well worth the«omg we could get murdered on these roads and no one will ever know» ride. During the day that is lol.

Came here with the family for lunch, we all got the 2 for 30 special(one appetizer, two entrees, and one dessert). Considering I come from Texas I have to say the portions are HUGE. I didn’t even make it past the onion ring tower appetizer(delicious). Definitely feel like I got my money’s worth because now I can eat my entrée for dinner! Waitstaff was friendly, and even separated the ice cream portion of my dessert so I could take the brownie home without it being soggy :)
