This was a tough review. I wanted it to be better. Not only because we were really excited to go to a «steakhouse» on our first night in Clarion, but also because we heard such good reviews. So at our hotel, we were given a coupon to 10% off our bill at RRR steakhouse. Well, what the heck. We were hungry. This made the decision easy on where to go, as we were both craving a big meal. We literally headed over on the 1 minute car ride over to the«mall». I’m not a local, but by the looks of it, it was previously a Texas Roadhouse that came back to life as the RRR steakhouse. We walked inside on a Tuesday night and it was empty. Maybe two tables in this oversized restaurant(maybe that’s why Texas Roadhouse didn’t survive??!). We got seated by a friendly server and she took our drink orders right away. Service seemed slower after that, maybe by design, maybe not. The menu was nothing creative, your average steakhouse. We both chose the filets and we both opted for the baked sweet potatoes. However, mine came out with the sweet potato and my coworkers came out with just a regular baked potato. Although my coworker was passive aggressive about it, and gently made a comment that she ordered a sweet potato, nothing was changed with the order. Oh well, we moved on. The filet was ok. Alright, to be honest? It didn’t have that much flavor. It was cooked to my liking, but it tasted off or not seasoned. Something. And the sweet potato? Believe me, I am the biggest lover of anything sweet potato, but this one came out… and had a freakin cup of granulated brown sugar on top. Not melted down. Not carmalized. Like actual granulated sugar. Like straight out of the sugar bowl. Is that a thing? Did something go wrong? I tried swirling the sugar with the potato real quick to help it melt, but there was so much that I was chewing on granulated sugar. I could feel the cavities coming on that night! The bill ended up in the mid 70’s, and it was nothing to write home about. Disappointed. The atmosphere seriously lacks. Employees are waiting around for some life to be brought into the building and the place is too big for the business it puts out. It’s a shame. Too bad they can’t get a better business happening in there. Good luck guys, with some tweaks, I’m sure you guys could get some good returning customers!

I have been to this mediocre restaurant several times before, because it is one of the better options if you are driving through Clarion, but I will NEVER eat here again. Our waitresses were lovely(we had two since one was a waitress in training) and after a long wait our order was finally served. My husband ordered a breaded shrimp platter, but when it arrived the shrimp were grilled. Not what he expected and not what he wanted, but we decided not to complain. When the bill came it turns out that we were charged almost $ 10 more for the grilled shrimp. We pointed out that we had ordered the shrimp platter and asked for the bill to be corrected. The manager(not a people person and rumor has it the only reason he has the job is because his dad owns the restaurant), refused to change the bill and all but accused us of somehow trying to get away with something. Hard to recommend a restaurant where the manager treats you like dirt. Again, loved the waitresses & not their fault, but I am pretty sure if the manager wasn’t related to the owner he would be looking for another job. Eat somewhere else.

Went for dinner tonight, waited 15 minutes and no one came to take our drink order. Had to go to the front desk and ask another waitress to ask our waitress to come take our order. They were not even busy and waiter’s were standing around talking. My daughter ordered Shrimp scampi, noodles were extremely undercooked. We told the waitress about it and she did nothing. Will not return.

Jade was wonderful! She made the bar feel like we were sitting at home, yet we were 5 hours away. Food was absolutely delicious. Chicken tenders were spot on, ribs were extremely tender. Beer selection was great! If we every happen upon Clarion again we will come here!

Rolled up at the roadhouse on a Saturday night, looking to grab something to bite. I walked to the counter and I started to say, it’s all about getting that table for eight. Cause the boys on the farm are always hot. Looking for grub to fill my tum. I called down early, to grab my seat, found out it would be 20 for us to eat. The lady at the counter was a friend of mine. Said she gave away our table to a party of nine. The service here sucked, the place smelled like shit. Wouldn’t go here if my life depended on it.

Service was excellent. I sat at the bar on Tuesday night and ordered wings and house made chips. The chips were hot and fresh and pleasantly seasoned. The wings tasted like they had been cooked three days in advance and then fried until there was nothing left. It hurt my teeth to chew them. Very dry. Had a very pedestrian beer selection with very few craft beers on tap. Mostly colors light bud light and the same thing as every other OK bar. Won’t be on the top of my list when I’m in town.

The service here is really great and the open kitchen looks clean but that’s pretty much it. They are serious issues with the quality of the food. I have eaten here 5 times because it is so close to the hotel I stay in. Vegetables come out of a can no matter what season it is. And they must be buying the biggest cheapest can Sysco has to offer because they are bad bad bad. Lettuce for salads is pre chopped and brownedz The steaks are horrendous cuts, i don’t think it’s an issue with the cooks not being good I think they are just given such cheap ingredients they can’t do anything with them. Edit: updated my review after I ate at another spot in Clarion … There isn’t much to compete with here this may be the best in town

Decent food and convenient to the Hampton Inn. My chicken was moist and the rolls were tasty. The vegetables were lacking, but what do you expect from a place like this? Not a place to seek out, but good enough if you are staying in the Hampton Inn.

It’s alright. I’m never amazed by their food. I had chicken tenders and fries because any other meal I get is rarely good. Chicken tenders seemed over cooked. How can you screw that up? The mild sauce for them was actually delicious, but other than that? I probably could have gotten the same quality meal at Arby’s for half the price. I also got fried cheese and spinach artichoke dip for appetizers and I think they got the dip recipe off of Buzz Feed on the internet. It was alright. I’ve had better. All the fried foods also almost had a fish taste to them. The service was good and the restaurant was presentable, but the food is over priced and not that great.

Came into Roadhouse on a Monday night. They were slammed. But were short one staff member. This threw the entire operation into chaos apparently. We were told the order would take 30 minutes to get to us. After 30 minutes and no food. It turns out that the order had never been entered. One waitress was so frustrated said she was done serving tables to not seat her anymore. All these conversations going on in front of customers. I was told that the owner decided not to franchise because he could do it better. Well Bud, apparently you cannot.

Food is good but heavy on the deep frying. Our service started out good but then our waitress disappeared and j actually had to ask another employee to have our waitress come back to our table.

First, I have eaten at this place once a year for the last 3 years and most times the service and food are both pretty decent. My review is basically summarizing my experiences from throughout the restaurant. Dining room experience: wait staff is good and attentive Bar staff for booths: not good. bartenders didn’t pay attention to tables and seemed clueless how to serve tables. Only seemed interested in serving drinks. We had to track her down to pay our bill and actually had to find another waiter to be able to pay our bill. We saw her talking at the register with what seemed like a friend rather than wait on us. She actually looked over at us(as we all stared at her with our checks) and she didn’t come over to take our checks. Food: not bad, yet not amazing. The rolls they bring are pretty good and they have peanuts on the table. In my most recent trip, my father and I both got French Onion soup and by the end of the meal, we both thought we were going to get sick(I actually had to walk outside and sit on their bench). The feeling passed after a few minutes and we were fine, but that was the only thing we had in common with our meal and we both had the same feeling. If I were basing the review solely off the recent visit sitting in the bar, it would be a 2 star at best. The previous meals where we sat in the dining room, I would rate it as high as a 4 star so that is why I’m averaging to 3 stars.

So back to their opening day. sweet potato went back 5 times. Was not even slightly baked. This was for all four of us at our table. The steaks were all opposite of what we each ordered. Since that I try to go back with various friends family different times. just one question how does a steak place run out of steak or other times potatoes? Each time out of something. Quality is extremely bad on food and availability. Please save your bucks unless you have no idea of what quality food is. Owners need to focus on one adventure and do one thing well as opposed to having a ton of places and do nothing good. Sorry kept trying but we won’t give it any more shots and Dave our bucks

I shouldn’t have gone here. I read the reviews and took a shot anyway. Bad decision. Pros: Wait staff is WONDERFUL. Got food quickly. Very attentive. Cons: Food well below average. More like going to a Ponderosa or Hoss’s. For the money, I’d expect something more along the lines of Outback or Lonestar. The 7 oz sirloin steak was thin sliced and overcooked. I didn’t feel like sending it back. It did have a charcoal grilled taste. The ONLY green vegetable I could have included as a side dish was spinach with bacon and onions! Had to pay $ 3.00 extra for a side salad. That«honey butter» didn’t taste like butter. Maybe margarine?” Rolls were okay. HUGE baked potato, again with non-buttery tasting butter. And I’m sorry, but for a place that caters to people from all over, having to see right off a stupid sign that said«God, Guns and Guts,» three things that made America strong, or words to that effect, I felt alienated right off. How a steakhouse can serve such lousy, improperly cooked steak is beyond me. Fool me once …

The customer service is very good and your waitress was very helpful with the menu. I ordered the«Porterhouse Steak» that was a very thin cut. Where the problem was… The Chef has no idea how to cook a steak medium-rare! The first steak came medium-well and they replaced it with a steak that was once again overcooked. I understand that the other people in my party that didn’t order a steak, enjoyed their meal. They do serve a very large glass of cold beer that helped me wash down the overcooked steak!!!

Well, where to start. We arrived at around 930 on a Saturday night. There was no one at the host stand, at least 3 servers looked at us, but no one sat us. As we were waiting for a host, a server was sweeping up the peanut shells while people were still eating around her sweeping area. We finally got a booth and they said the wait was due to their being busy earlier and had to clear a table. BUT there was a TON of cleared/cleaned tables they could have used. The server was extremely nice and approached our table right away. I got the sampler and it was HUGE. Don’t get a meal in addition to this! The half rack of ribs was also very good and the meat just fell off the bones. After the initial issues, it was a good dining experience.

Good service, great food, reasonable prices, casual atmosphere. What’s not to love? They serve rolls with honey butter that is amazing. They have paper on the table which is great for kids and they have peanuts for the table. The service is good but not too intense. The only thing is it can be hard to order. You kind of have to piece together what you want instead of it coming together.

The RRR Roadhouse in Clarion has a rather odd smattering of cliental. There are the locals, people traveling on I-80, and college students who have convinced their parents to take them out for dinner. Honestly, locals in this area expect small town service, which is far too personal and creepy for my taste. This place has a bit more of a corporate restaurant chain feel, but I’d rather get my food quickly and enjoy eating with the people I came there with. If you want actual ambiance, drive to a city. The food is fine. This place is comparable price and taste wise to a Red Robin or similar type of burger/steak chain. For the area, the prices are high, but they really are not that terrible. They get their beef locally, and I’ve never had a bad meal. It’s not going to be a memorable meal, but you also won’t hate your life afterwards either. I would say play it safe and get a burger here. I think a ½ pound Cheeseburger is $ 9.99. In a small town, I don’t mess around with upscale dishes. They just don’t usually come out well. However, my father ordered shrimp here twice, and he was really happy with it. And to all of the people complaining about salad out of a bag and frozen burger patties… have you ever worked in a restaurant? It’s a RARITY that that isn’t the case… even in upscale restaurants. Do your research.

We have seen this place a few times when traveling and decided to stop in. Wow, the food here is excellent and service matches the food quality. We will be sure to stop here again next time we are driving through. Looking forward to those warm rolls and honey butter again. Mmm!
