First time here… Great food, clean and friendly! Had hot roast beef sand and fries. Best home style in a long time!!! Hopefully we’ll be back this summer.

Went on a Saturday night they were extremely busy we waited an hour for a table then another 1 ½ for food. Service was almost none existent. We had to go to the bar to get our drinks and we were only drinking sodas. The manager was rude when we asked why the food was taking so long. Once the food came it was quite good. I would go back one more time on a less busy night with hopes to get better service.

Updated review: December 2015 Always a pleasant visit to the Iron Mt. Grille. no matter what day or time. I love bringing newbies too and seeing if they fall in love as quickly as I did. Before I get to the food — I have to add again .I just love the thick square coushins on their bar stools. very comfortable. I love siting at the bar and meeting new people — everyone is always so friendly. I even played the jukebox this time. nice selections. I was excited to hear there were new wing flavors. The Sweet Ginger were OUTTA this world and had the zig that I search for. It was definately a flavor that I have not ever had. Way to go for a new flavor Iron Mt Grille! Chipotle BBQ — were a good match for my taste buds! They had the heat and the flavor that I search for. BBQ is probably my least favorite wing flavor because its just wing sauce. This flavor definately had a kick. They have the larger size(whole wing) and the smaller size. just be sure you order the right kind that you prefer. I ordered to share — hot pepper cheese balls. They were good and fun to share but I would look to fill up eating something else. They were good but just basic. Ok so the fresh cut fries were a must for this visit. I ordered a «side». It wasnt an appeitzer to share it was just a side and for me it was too small. The fries are large in size but I could have ate two side portions. The size is basically a handful. They are really good fries. My friends were also pleased with the quality of the food and thanked me for bringing them there! Thanks for another great visit Iron Mountain Grille! — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — This bar/restaurant has a rustic yet modern feel type of feel. I love the personality of the décor inside. it’s not overdone. This review is long overdue. I have tried the mountain burger and steak hoagie and their pizza in the past.. all fantastic. Each trip is actually better than the last. This past weekend I had the boneless wings. tried the«new york» flavor wings. This flavor is a hot tangy buffalo sauce — more like a «medium» based hot sauce. The amount of meat on these wings was astounding. They were perfectly shaped wings. FINALLY! The french fries are fresh cut! If you are a french fry lover these are for you! So delicous. They also have sweet potato fries but I prefer just regular fries. Since I am such a french fry lover I have been on the hunt for fresh cut fries. and found them! I am often very disapointed at the lack of regard for the great«french fry» at some restruants I have visited. Frozen. You can always tell when they are«Frozen». The menu is quite extensive. theres something for everyone and different items too which I love. My friend and I grabbed a seat at the bar. Comfortable –cushy bar stools! Our bartender«Rose» was great. She was friendly and was on the ball with all of our questions and even took a few pics for us. I enjoy talking to the other patrons when I visit — everyone is ALWAYS so friendly. Plenty of televisions for any sporting event and just a good feeling over all when you are at the restaurant. The restrooms. very clean and spacious! I plan on visiting every time I head to our family cabin in Corsica which isn’t far from Sigel. Iron Mountain is so charming and a must see if you are in the area. you won’t regret it. 5 stars easily … Cheers Iron Mountain Grille!

Having a camp in Lucinda, I decided to try this restaurant. We went on a Friday night and had no problem getting a table right away. Actually several tables were available. It took a while for our server to take our drink order and the slow service continued throughout our entire visit. We ordered two appetizers, jalapeño poppers and mild wings. The poppers were nothing special and only four. We were given the wrong flavor of wings, Old Bay, which were good but not what we ordered-again the service wasn’t good. I had a steak, which was cooked as ordered. My date ordered the Haddock, which I tried and it was very dry, overcooked. All-in-all this place is mediocre at best. But this was the first time I had been there and I would give it another try.

Even though the reviews are really split on this place, I decided to give weight to some of the 5-star hidden reviews from locals. Mistake. The food was not good and I wish I wouldn’t have wasted my calorie budget on this place. I asked the waitress which appetizers were prepared fresh(not frozen) and she said just the fries. We ordered the sweet potato fries and jalapeño poppers. The fries were the best thing I ate, although they were missing a great dipping sauce. The jalapeño poppers did indeed taste frozen — as if I had gone to the frozen section of my grocery store and picked up a box to cook myself. There were only four, so it was pricey too. I was craving a pizza, so I ordered a custom veggie pizza with extra cheese. It was horrible. The crust was so obviously originally frozen. You know when you pick up a slice of pizza and the cheese just oozes and strings? Not here. It was weird, the cheese was just not melted, and I even ordered extra! Again, I think it must be because they build the pizza on a frozen base. I will say that the beer selection is decent(all bottled though). I had a great local IPA. My dinner mates ordered steaks and that looks like the way to go. They seemed cooked well to order. However, the sides of asparagus were grossly overcooked(soggy) and left uneaten and the mashed potatoes were not impressive. On top of it all, the service was SO slow. Sorry, locals, but we have to agree to disagree! Next time I will go to the Forest Nook(I went there for a painting class and confirmed they make their pizza dough from scratch) or to the Lodge(eaten there before and thoroughly enjoyed it).

The food was ok. Service wasn’t that great. I probably may not go back. They said their ranch dressing was homemade but I tasted Kraft dressing all up in it… not very good

You know, this place isn’t that bad really. It’s just kind of… cliché. It looks like it would have more than regular bar food, and more than regular bar service… but it doesn’t. I don’t know why they crammed what is kind of a dive bar idea into such a beautiful building. I think it really sets people’s expectations high for the general area, and then people expect like a classier dinner/Perkins/Eat’n Park experience when nothing could be further from the truth. I’ve eaten here a few times and our food was fine and our service was just fine. Nothing to write home about. We went at dinner during the summer, which should be their peak time, and we didn’t see anything that wasn’t pizza or deep fried. I don’t expect there to be anything super healthy, but one REALLY nice salad with grilled chicken or something would be nice. I dunno. I guess I typically eat healthier than not, so it’s not like I was really surprised to see the kind of menu they had… but again, I think it goes back to this big beautiful building they have, and then expectations that set. It’s funny, the Forest Nook Café is like a shack with a porch… and their food is killer. This, this is like… a waste of good architecture. They do have quite a few TVs and seem to be showing all the Pittsburg games and such. So I guess if your wife makes you go camping and you’re going to miss a baseball or a hokey game or something… go here, at least you can eat touristy food while you watch the game on a big HD screen. *shrug*

Too bad other reviewers have some axe to grind. They both had«terrible» experiences but go on to recommend the same other place. Sounds like a cheap way to advertise. Sad!!! I bet that the 2 reviewers describing this establishment as «terrible» have never been inside the Iron Mountain Grille. Checking out their profiles I discovered they recently signed up for an account and have this as their only review. Hmmm? Makes me wonder. The owners bought the old Jefferson Inn and completely remodeled /added on. They both do a fantastic job at managing the restaurant and keeping standards high. Judging from the crowds, I am not the only one that appreciates a nice restaurant, great food at fair prices. I have eaten at the Iron Mountain Grille many times and have had a very positive experience every time. The décor is rustic but tasteful, the place is always exceptionally clean and the food is reliable, good every time. It is obvious that the owners take a lot of pride in their restaurant. This is my first choice when in the area. Located just outside Cook Forest State Park, they are conveniently on Rt. 36 with plenty of parking. The Grille gets very busy, especially on the weekends but well worth the wait for a table. Try it for yourself, I am sure you will agree that this is the place for a lunch or casual dinner. On the weekends they have entertainment that always fills the place to the rafters. I believe they are open Wednesday thru Sunday. Don’t let a couple of fake reviews keep you from discovering one of the best finds in Cook Forest. Trust me… would I lie to you?

Terrible. If you like stale and burned food this is the place for you. Had a BLT with burned bacon and burned toast. Boyfriend’s burger came on a bun stale and hard as a hockey puck. Won’t be back. Try the Knotty Pine instead.
