Moultrie Academy

I don’t like to leave bad reviews so I’ve waited a few months since my Moultrie experience to post this. The first time my daughter took a dance class, all I heard the whole time was the singers in the other room getting yelled at. A girl was crying. Mrs. Moultrie came out and apologized, saying that it never happens and that it was just a bad day or something. A couple weeks later, a mother was upset at the way her daughter was being treated, so she went to talk to Mrs. Moultrie in the back room. Next thing I know, the two are screaming at each other for the next 20 minutes, curse words being thrown around– this was all when classes were going on. The students were left on their own while having to listen to all this. Then the dance teacher comes out and starts yelling at the mother too. And then, again, I’m told «Things like this never happen». It was the most unprofessional thing I have ever witnessed. The teachers were trying to make it seem like the mother was crazy. It seemed like I was the only parent that ever stayed for classes, so I wonder if other parents know the way their kids are being treated? I am all for discipline, I understand that kids need it for these types of activities. But this is not healthy discipline– they are being constantly berated and talked down too. The only reason we stayed for a second month was because my daughter liked the ballet class, but I pulled her out because it just wasn’t a healthy environment. I felt uncomfortable every time I was there, having to listen to the yelling and the kids crying. We go to a much better, professional dance studio now, where the kids are actually learning and growing as dancers, and for a much better price.

Simply the best! 30 years ago I was in one of Carly’s musicals! It was the best experience! I can still remember my parts and the choreography! I always said, if I have children I would want them to be apart of the Moultrie Academy. Now, I have three young daughters. Two attend the Moultrie Academy. And as soon as my two year old turns three in October, she will be enrolled as well. I could not imagine sending them anywhere else. Carly is a musical genius! She truly puts 100% into the students. Melissa is an amazing gifted dancer and singer! She also puts 100% into the students. I cannot say enough positive things about the Moultrie Academy. I pray it is here for generations to come:-)!
