I did the Halloween scavenger hunt this past weekend and it was a good time. I would have had more fun, if the boundaries weren’t so large! We went from the Memorial Coliseum to Milwaukie to Clackamas to deep NE then to SE. It just seemed like a lot of driving. I loved the tasks we had to do, like the thriller dance and the bouncy balls. I would have liked to see more things like that, rather than just taking pictures. Also, if I had it my way, I would have excluded the Memorial Coliseum. It was way to hard to park there! When I signed up for the hunt, I read that the bar we finished at would have food and drink specials. There weren’t any, at least not good ones. Four bucks for a well drink is no special to me. I know places that have them for three bucks regularly and during happy hour a dollar off. And after running round for 3 hours, it would have been nice to get some food. Also, the place was really small for all the people that were doing the hunt. I had a lot of fun, but would have changed the boundaries and the place that was selected for the bar.

I did the Pdx Hunt this past weekend with the Scooby Doo team! yeah! I thought it was a lot of fun. We had tasks all around the metro area, from dancing Thriller to bouncing around on huge exercise balls through a dark field. There were cash prizes and a costume contest at the end(We definitely didn’t get any cash prizes…). If I were to change anything about the hunt, I would shrink the boundaries down a bit to save on gas and possibly have fewer teams at a time doing the hunt. I know you can’t stop people from cheating but we definitely saw some people with designated drivers dropping off their teams to complete a challenge and avoid parking issues. We also had two different teams lie to us in order to try and delay us on a task! It’s a bummer when people play dirty, but that doesn’t say anything negative about the organizers. I also think they could think through the final destination a little more. The bar they chose was a little small for the masses of people that showed up, and it was hard to get a drink. Maybe some food specials at the bar too? We were hungry after all that. I didn’t see many kids on the hunt, and possibly have two different kinds: ones that are family friendly and others that cater more to the adult population. Just some suggestions, but all in all it was a great time!
