This place is a stones throw from my house and I have stopped in many times to try various different items hoping each time my experience will be better since this place is so convenient. The staff are very friendly but the service is so ungodly slow and the prices are ridiculous for the wait time and quality.

I’ve been going to Mountain View occasionally for a few years. There was definitely a drop in service when ownership changed hands, but overall it’s still been fine. A month or so ago, when I went in an employee came out of the restroom and didn’t wash his hands in the kitchen, which is a health code violation. A few days ago, I was in again and the same employee drank some leftover smoothie from the bottom of a pitcher, and instead of putting the pitcher into the dishwasher, he rinsed it off with water(no soap), and stuck it right back onto the blender to be used again. From now on I’m driving the extra ½ mile to go to Black Rock.

This place is the WORST. Beyond slow, and the coffee tastes like burnt rubber. The staff are rude, slow, and seriously incompetent. Do yourself a favor– go somewhere else!

Not really a coffee shop, My philly sandwich was more bread than meat. Nothing terrible, but there are better options.

When we arrived at MVCH, we were greeted by what I think was the drunk owner. A younger man took part of our order then Drunk Dude(DD) took over. In between raving about a pizza place he ordered from and telling us they were out of 4 items we wanted, he took our order. He kept going off on random tangents. It was beyond annoying. We had to tell them 5 times what drink we had ordered. Then DD gets on the phone, rants and yells at his landlord or tenant. Things were made even more backward when I hear DD talking to his employee about a fu!!$/, ahole, sh! t for brains drunk fu##er. Food was greasy, no whip on any drink(maybe DD inhaled it???) And chips were outdated. He has attacked every other customer asking if they have tried this pizza, even talking with his mouth full. Needless to say we will NOT be back. What a joke.

I went here to try to get some work done before going to a doctor’s appointment. I only had a tiny little window of time to be productive. I brought my laptop in with me. There are only two tiny little tables up front that are near outlets, and they were both occupied. I sat at the only other place near an outlet, which was a couch with a low coffee table. That is not a comfortable set-up to work on a laptop. As soon as I sat down, the owner sat down right next to me. For some reason, he thought that because he is the owner, he can have full-on SHOUTING conversations with his son and other staff members, who were behind the counter. I really didn’t come in here to hear him talk about his son bowling, or his ice-cream vendor being out of ice-cream, or that he needs to chop up the lettuce! I politely asked the owner if he could lower his voice, and he took full offense at my request. He told me that he was the owner, and that he wasn’t talking loudly, and that he had every right to «talk»(aka SHOUT) to his son. Perhaps this man is hard of hearing, or taking too many pain pills, but his concept of «talking» definitely meets the definition of SHOUTING in the world outside of this coffee house. He told me that I could go to Starbucks. Actually, I couldn’t, because I had a doctor’s appointment next door, and I wasn’t going to waste my time trying to find a suitable environment in my small window of time. In my experience, it’s generally understood that cafes are appropriate places to have a quiet environment to do some work. This place does not support that endeavor. I will never return.

I’ve been coming here almost everyday for the last week. Their coffee is good and their food is pretty good. The baked goods are tasty but never offered warm. I haven’t asked but I’m usually on the go and never offered. I’m only here early in the morning but they’re always empty. There’s also a drive up window in the back I haven’t been to but I assume a lot of business goes there. The parking lot is hard to get into but I keep coming back for a reason. Pleasant service and good products.

I can’t figure this place out. They call Mountain View a coffee shop, but they also have ice cream, BBQ meats, and they sell greeting cards to boot. Huh? I’ve had the bagels(not great) and the coffee(decent) but the place is lacking direction and ambience. Also, the service is painfully slow. It’s really big inside but it’s laid out in a strange way, with wide open floor space not being used. Call me crazy, but I don’t want to get my BBQ’d meat at the same place I get my morning coffee and perhaps my ice cream? I drive by this place a lot and never see it busy. My guess is that people are confused by all the different signs out front. My advice would be to pick one direction and stick with it.

Personally my girlfriend and I absolutely loved this place. We had a turkey bacon ranch panini, a burger, chi tea, snicker doodle cookie, and two breakfast sandwiches and every single thing tasted amazing and everything was a surprisingly reasonable/good price(all that plus a large soda came to rite around $ 26). If this place was in the city I live, I would be spending a large part of my check there every week. It was delicious and a delist full atmosphere.

A spacious spot with plenty of seating, but its identity seems a little confused. It seems more like an ice cream shop than a coffee house, and there’s a lot of signage for their meats and sandwiches. While waiting for coffee, an employee handled a bunch of raw meat in front of us. I guess the employees have to do what they have to do, but maybe that kind of(unappetizing) work can be done somewhere less out in the open. They sell Stumptown coffee and offer two different types of chai. There’s promise here if they want to establish themselves as a coffee place(from the name, it seems this is their goal), but they’ve got work to do.

I LOVE this place. The staff /owners are so friendly. Their food is great, they are willing to improvise to support my diet needs. The coffee is fabulous and Sean is an artist. If you are going anywhere for coffee in Milwaukie, this is the place!

Favorite Coffee spot in the area. Delicious specialty drinks, great service and tasty bites! If you do get something to eat, try Steve’s Portobello(chicken) Sammy. They use mushroom caps for bread then grill to perfection. A great low carb, GF, Paleo friendly sandwich for anyone who is trying to stick to their New Year’s resolutions. This place is so good I wish I could give it a 6th star!

Would have berm five stars except the drink makers that completed my order was unfriendly and rolling here yeast everything. Just moved to the area, don’t care for Starbucks so looking for a good coffee house. The coffee was great, cashier was friend and store was clean and pleasant to relax in. They also have a drive through.

Better caramel macchiato than Starbucks. Very friendly service, my new go-to when I am in the area.

Once again a place too afraid to make a cappuccino as it should instead of like Starbucks. Sigh. Hot milk with a dabble of espresso… espresso so weak I drank half the bev and had them add two more shots to no avail. What in the world would a 20oz cappuccino be? At one point staff was at 3 members even though I was the only one in the joint and the drive through saw a dozen people in the 4 hours I was there. Not open on weekends and a hodgepodge of items with nothing sticking out as their main focus. Without a feature thing to bring people to this place I don’t see anyone stopping by other than because they are close or happen to pass by(or because they hate Starbucks). Smoothie was good. Good luck Mountain View!

All my experiences with the younger employees at Mountain View Coffee House have been very enjoyable. They are all very friendly and personable. If I only dealt with them then I would give Mount View Coffee House great reviews. However, the older woman, most likely the owner, is rude. On my first encounter with her, I mistakenly asked for a «tall» instead of a «12 oz». If you work in the coffee industry(esp. in the Pacific NW) then: a) You should probably know that a «tall» is the same size as a «12 oz». b) If not, ask POLITELY for clarification. She failed at both points. I let that one go until today on my second encounter with the rude owner again. I came in and asked for a «12 oz, non-fat chai; Big Train kind». The young employee at the counter was nice and took my order. The rude woman was behind her and told the young girl at the counter she’d take care of it. I was given my chai, walked out to my car, and then noticed I was given the other brand of chai that I don’t like and specifically asked for the other one. I came back in and told her, «I’m sorry to be a pain but I asked for Big Train».(Hey, I paid $ 3.00 for it and should get what I asked for). Instead of apologizing for her mistake and just fixing it, the rude women turned to the young girl and asked, «Did you hear that»? The girl told her that she had and they fixed my drink. The rude women handed me my correct drink and I thanked her for fixing it and I said, «Sorry about that.» Yes, I apologized for her mistake(it was a hassle to fix it so I appreciated it and felt a «thanks» was in order). She just looked at me. No apology, no have a nice day, nothing. It’s called customer service and a smile!

We moved in across the street last summer and it is wonderful to have a decent coffee shop so close to work! Their sandwiches, bagels, smoothies… all top notch. and plenty of room to sit and chat or work if needed… oh and ice cream for children too. They have catered a couple of lunches for our office and also bailed us out once or twice when we needed a lot of coffee, quick, fast and in a hurry. and they delivered. Nice people, even early in the morning… drive up for quick stops… headed to the mountain? Stop here on the way… oh. and …need a birthday card and a gift? Get a card, a gift card and a pound of coffee… perfect.

I typically go once a week to grab breakfast from McDonalds’, but in a state of un-caffienated stupor I missed it and noticed the dirve thru sign for this spot. I ordered an Oregon Chai(they also have Big Train) and a bagel sandwich and went again for my weekly treat today. The staff is super nice and friendly, the food is pretty great– the cheese on my sandwich was«real» and not that brick of unmeltable cheddar most places serve. The staff gives this place a very nieghborhood feel for a drive through, and I will for sure be back next week!

This is a new shop and they are great! The staff is super friendly, and they serve Stumptown coffee. Free Wi-Fi, and a really nice flat screen over a spiffy little fireplace. Clean and efficient. Though not open on Sundays(bummer) they do open at 6am during the week and 730 on Saturdays. Highly recommended!
