I really miss having them at Gladiators. The nana butter smoothies were something I looked forward to after a hard workout.

Sharee Amour is a great business that continues to get better and better! I love that all the food is fresh and made with quality ingredients. There are great options for all diets not to mention everything is full of flavor. I’ve had the turkey burger wrap and the(seasonal) sweet potato pie smoothie which was to die for! I’ve also enjoyed the steal cut oatmeal which was slow cooked overnight to perfection with delish toppings. Before having Sharee Amour steal cut oatmeal, I was a fan of Jamba Juice’s steal cut oatmeal, but Sharee Amours has taken the number 1 spot for me. I wish I had the option to have it on a daily basis! The staff and owner were both very friendly and my food was prepared carefully and the presentation was on point. The juice bar was very clean which is always a HUGE plus! I will definitely continue to come back to try more items on the menu whenever I find myself in the East Orange area. I look forward to seeing this new establishment grow and continue to provide quality and healthy food options for those in search for it in the area.

Um… I’m really not even sure where to start. I first heard of Sharee Amour through , where I had a $ 200 voucher to spend. Being a vegan/gluten-free/clean-eating health freak, this seemed like a logical option through which I could redeem part of my voucher(fortunately only $ 10 worth). Let’s get down to it, then, shall we? I’m going to start with the positives because I think it’s important: 1. The gentleman there preparing the food/juice was personable and customized a few things for me in order to expedite the process(I had to get back to work). As for the negatives: 1. I knew through reading that Sharee Amour was located inside of «Gladiator Gym.» My navigation brought me to the spot, but make no mistake, this place is not visible from the street. It’s set far behind Karl’s Appliances with no signage whatsoever. 2. In my attempts to find the juice bar, I decided to try calling them – nobody answers. I also attempted to call the gym – again, no answer. Already, I have a bad taste in my mouth. 3. Finally, I find this place and make my way inside. Four words… is this real life? Set right inside of this EMPTY(not a single person there working out – granted it was midday, but I can guarantee my gym – NYSC – would not be empty), rather sketchy/barebones gym, is the juice bar(and I use that term loosely). It’s really some shanty set up with a few table/chair sets on super old, cut-up carpet(just see my pictures – it’s difficult to even verbalize). Not that I’ll be returning, but if I ever did, I would never eat in. 4. At this point, I’m pressed for time. I have 20 minutes to spare before I need to be on my way, so I ask the guy there what would be the most expeditious option. I wanted a juice and something solid to fill me. I think they have 5 solid dishes, 2 of which contain meat, 1 veggie burger(though I surmised this would take too long to make), and 2 salads(both of which are vegan). I settled on a kale salad and green juice. Oh, where do I start? The kale salad featured on the menu contains a base of kale(great!), walnuts(awesome), craisins(yay)… along with raw mushrooms, tomatoes, and onions. Wait… what? Listen, I love raw veggies – heck, I love all veggies! They compose 90% of my diet, but what a bizarre(and frankly gross) combination! In a salad with walnuts and craisins, I’d expect perhaps some avocado, root veggies(roasted sweet potato, carrots, etc), but mushrooms, onions, and tomatoes? No. Just no. So, in an effort to avoid that combination and save time, I asked for the walnuts, craisins, and some carrots and avocado in place of the other veggies. The server agreed to this – fine and done. While there was nothing wrong with the salad, and I can appreciate that the ingredients appeared to be fresh, $ 10 for what was essentially a few handfuls of kale and small servings of carrot/avo/craisins/walnuts seems a bit crazy, and keep in mind, I am quite used to paying a premium for my food. As for the«dressing,» it was a very thick avocado spread-like concoction. It was very good, but so thick that there was no way to disperse it throughout my salad – it would be much better suited as a condiment for a sandwich or wrap. Moving on… the juice. Your typical green juice. $ 9.50 for 16 oz., however, is a bit much. This isn’t some fancy juice bar in the city using certified organic produce. This is a shanty set up in a sketchy gym using non-organic produce, so would I return to pay $ 10 for this juice? Not a chance. 5. I don’t want to knock the gentleman there making the food/juice, because he honestly was very nice, but I spent 25 minutes in this place – TWENTYFIVEMINUTES! For juice… and a kale salad that required zero cooking of any sort. If I’m going to wait around for 25 minutes at a juice bar, I better be in for a treat. Not so at Sharee Amour. 6. Finally, adding to the disorganization/weird set up, it was obvious that the owner never trained her employees in procedures for validating vouchers. The kid there had no idea what to do, so I had to validate it and write down the certificate number on a scrap of paper. Not a big deal, but if you’re offering vouchers(through various sites, no less), you should have a procedure in place for training your employees on validating them. So… that’s that. I was hoping to have found yet another place close to work where I could grab lunch – but this is NOT it. I’d rather spend twice the time driving to Whole Foods(I could create my own salad with more veggies and better dressing for the same price) or any of the juice/health food restaurants on Bloomfield in Montclair(several of which charge LESS for juices made with ORGANIC ingredients). Maybe this place will find its way? I don’t know, but as it’s currently set up – I’m sure it won’t be receiving«amour» for much longer.
