This is now our go-to-place for Chinese food. Since we moved to Fair Oaks from the Chicago area we have had trouble finding a really good Chinese restaurant. Temple Garden has fresh, delicious food, generous portions, very reasonable prices, and a clean dining area. My wife and I got the pot stickers and two of the combo lunch specials. The pot stickers have a medium thick homemade outer dumpling and big tasty meat filled center. The dipping sauce was good but not great– maybe needs a little vinegar and sugar for my taste. The double lunch portion was HUGE(see my pictures). I got Orange chicken, general Zuo’s chicken, and chicken chow mein. The orange chicken was crispy with a sweet citrus natural orange flavor — maybe the best I’ve had. General Zuo’s chicken was medium-mild spicy and lightly sweet with a slight smoky flavor– also very nice. My wife had one different entrée, brocoli beef. The beef was high quality and tender(no tough or rubbery meat). The chicken chow mein was also good with a slightly smoky soy flavor. Each lunch special was $ 8.95. They have a $ 6.95 version with only one entrée. My wife had to take at least half of her dual combo home because it is so much good food. Come try this place.

Was excited to try since this is rather close to home. We got take-out. Ordered the dinner for two and added chow-mein. The food was bland, and came COLD. The walnut shrimp were yucky, sauce tasted like mayo. I am shocked based on previous reviews. Will not be back.

We ordered Dinner A: Broccoli Beef, Fried Rice, Wonton soup, Potstickers(4) and Kung Pao Chicken. The delivery was very fast around 15 minutes. The food was delicious. Big portions and reasonable price. Food total was $ 28.10 tax included. The potstickers were huge and delicious! We will be ordering more food for sure! Thanks for our delicious dinner Temple Garden!

Singapore noodles were the hit of the night! Decent portions with good solid flavor at a price that doesn’t wreck the wallet. Free delivery over 25 bucks too! Which came from order time to the doorstep in less than 15 minutes. Definitely would recommend.

Had lunch here today. Small location off Sunrise. Everything was fresh and hot. Ordered Temple Platter, BBQ Pork Mu Shu, Chicken Chow Mein, and Mandarin Chicken. Absolutely delicious. The Spring Rolls are the best I’ve ever had. Service not very attentive but polite.

Pretty great with the vegetarian options. The salt and pepper tofu was the best I had in awhile. We also had the vegetable chow fun. I loved it but there wasn’t a lot of noodles and I love chow fun noodles. A lot of fresh veggies though. I will be back and hope for extra noodles!!! :)

Recently moved in the area and was hoping that this would be a new favorite spot. Prices are higher than all the other Chinese restaurants we frequent and the food was extremely bland and very greasy. $ 50 for two combos and soup to go. I think I may have been over charged. Not to mention I called in my order ahead of time and it I still waited 25 minutes for my to go order and no I’m sorry I even said it was my first time. Well sorry but I won’t be back.

Had a great lunch on the spur of the moment. Ambiance was good, gorgeous mural of a Chinese temple sets the mood. One star off for the distracting TV mounted in the middle of it, though. Food was delicious; fresh and flavorful. Portions were way too large for lunch. We(two) enjoyed the tasty Won Ton soup, potstickers, and hot tea. Ordered a two-entrée lunch special for $ 8.95 with shrimp and vegetables, broccoli beef and chicken chow Mein. At least half came home! This is a must-try if you are anywhere nearby.

Somewhere, sometime, I got turned off of Chinese food. It was a frequent go-to meal. The places I would visit I noticed lacked quality of food and flavor and I lost that lovin’ feeling. Temple Garden opened in this location recently and, because of the good reviews, its close proximity to home, and my need for a quick meal-for-three option, I decided to give Tempe Garden a run for take-out grubbin’. I did not call ahead — I arrived, placed my order, and left with food in less than 15 minutes. * Spring Rolls * Chicken Chow Mein * BBQ Pork Fried Rice * Szechuan Chicken These aren’t exciting dish choices but two who were being fed with this meal are not adventurous eaters. * The quality of the food was fantastic. * The quantity of food was more than I had anticipated. * The freshness and flavors were fantastic. And, finally, a dish that’s supposed to be spicy and actually IS spicy! Better than a 4 and almost a 5 = 4.5 Stars Note: One current 2-star reviewer on this restaurant makes a reference to Panda Express(they’re go-to). Not a cut on the Panda but if that’s your high point Chinese meal, then don’t come here — Temple Garden is much better and you won’t understand. To another 2-star recent reviewer, simply ask for a different table. easy peasy.

So glad good Chinese restaurant got opened up in our neighborhood. My husband who usually is not chow mien person says their chow mien is to die for! Everything we ordered so far has been good except for Hot and Sour Soup.

I’ve tried this place a couple times now and liked the chow mien and fried rice more than most places. They are a little on the dark side so you probably wont need soy sauce. 4-stars Lemon chicken– 4-stars Mongolian Beef– 4 stars Kung pao chicken– 3.8 stars and the sauce is a little different than I’m used to but still good. Walnut shrimp– 3.8 stars and I could of done with out the orange flavor, I think it came from the orange slices under the shrimp. General chicken– 3.3 Black pepper mushroom chicken– 3 stars and this was not bad but a little bland, and for how much black pepper flakes you could see you couldn’t taste them. They do have lunch specials written on a board inside, I think they were 7 dollars and I’ll be back. P. s. The fried rice in the lunch special has bbq pork in it that’s good, but the chicken in the lunch special chow mien I didn’t like.

Love this place. Every dish we tried! The meats were tender and jucy. The Flavors were well developed and what you would expect with really good Chinese food. We ordered so much food we had plenty of left overs too. The food was even better the next day. Oh My! I’ll go back to this place. Oh! And they will deliver in the local neighborhood!!!

Other Chinese restaurants should take a lesson from this one. They’ve only been open for roughly a month and are a really impressive operation. Inside is spotless and contemporary. No dusty Buddha statues or smelly plastic plants. A good vibe all around. We were promptly greeted and sat even though the restaurant was busy — no Seinfeld moment here. Didn’t wait for more than a minute before our drinks arrived(another good sign). Oh and their water tastes really good here by the way — I’m pretty picky about that. The two person Dinner B is a great deal for $ 15/pp. You get a giant bowl of ridiculously good hot and sour soup. There is enough soup for a Suburban load of people(no joke) and it is take-out-worthy delicious. Then you get a bunch of cream cheese wontons(thankfully crisp and not greasy) and some fried prawns. The amount of food right there is enough to stuff you, so pace yourself amigos, there’s more… Entrees in the combo were honey walnut prawns, which were tangy and not overly sauced, and House Chicken — which is basically chicken stir fried with zucchini, carrots and onions in a light sauce. Then(oh yeah, still more) your choice of chow mein vs fried rice. We went with chow mein — which was listed as chicken chow mein on the menu but it’s actually combo with chicken, pork, and shrimp. They need to fix it on the menu in case someone who isn’t a fan of shrimp(for example) gets a surprise bite. Luckily that wasn’t us. A word on the service. It’s really not ok anymore to JUST have good food. And sadly, with a certain other Citrus Heights Chinese place in the area, I think that people have resorted to really low expectations in service with their Chinese food. Temple Garden is refreshingly different. Young, energetic and friendly people frequently checked on us and were easy to communicate with. They filled our waters consistently, were quick to clear away plates, and even boxed up the leftovers for us. It feels like a family run operation here because they truly care. Ask yourself the last time you went out for Chinese and were sincerely asked how satisfying your meal was by the staff serving it. We couldn’t remember, and look forward to coming back.

This place was a long time coming. As a close neighbor, I have seen the construction of this restaurant for some time. I was out of town when the grand opening occurred but yesterday we gave it a try. We ordered Kung Pao Chicken, House Fried Rice and Chicken Chow Mein. Kung Pao Chicken, a staple at most Chinese restaurants. To me, this is the test of the quality and execution of the food itself. This Kung Pa Chicken was absolutely amazing. Rich in flavor and color! Most of the Kung Pao Chicken I have had in the surrounding area looks drab, tasteless filled with poor quality chicken and vegetables that look dark and not crisp. Temple Garden get it RIGHT! The color was bright. The chicken was fresh and not full of scrap parts of chicken. The vegetables were crisp and obviously not frozen. The taste was overall a truly authentic Kung Pao Chicken. Highly recommended! Chicken Chow Mein had a very good texture and same quality chicken. Vegetables were again fresh and flavor of the chicken was not smothered over in the sauce. Noodles didn’t taste like rubber but how noodles are supposed to taste: steamed chow mein with a softer texture = al dente = perfection. Another fine dish to enjoy at this location. Finally the House Fried Rice. Usually when I order this at most places, the shrimp isn’t fresh and they are small. These shrimp were LARGE and FRESH and didn’t taste fishy or frozen. The rice was cooked perfectly and the other accouterments were just as fresh as the shrimp. Add a little soy sauce and you are good to go. Now knowing that this place exists so close to us, I plan on making this my GO-TO Chinese restaurant. STAFF: They are very friendly and make sure that the quality of food is good by asking us «how was everything?» Very polite and nice all the way around. In speaking with the owner, he told me he has been a cook/chef for over 30 years. The quality of the food show the results of all his years of training and preparing honest, quality food and the staff attentiveness serves to make sure you are satisfied as a customer. RESTAURANT: This location is brand new and no expense was spared on the presentation of the dining room. Inside it looks as if the place is a pagoda. Very clean, nice looking walls with murals and a register/drink station with red subway tile underneath a green like pagoda roof.

Fast delivery! Delicious hot fresh food. Love the temple platter appetizer. Black pepper mushroom chicken hit the spot! Tasted just as it should. My son loves the tomato beef chow mien better then our usual spot! I can’t wait to order from temple garden again! Their delivery drive was very polite and friendly as well.
