Have again: original ground beef taco is just wonderful. The cheese and beef remind me of my childhood when Mom made the new-fangled tacos at home.

I’ve been to this Jimboy’s for the past 20 years. Something was wrong the last time I was there. They took away the salsa bar!!! That’s a must with any Jimboys! I think they have new owners, but not sure. Won’t be going back!

I love Jimboy’s. Anyone who thinks they’re trying to be «authentic Mexican» is sadly mistaken. The chain was started by a couple from Lake Tahoe who decided to make some new-fangled thing called a «taco». It’s their own spin, an it’s delicious! They’re pricey if you compare them to Taco Bell, but that’s a bit like comparing McDonald’s to In-N-Out. I would recommend the ground beef over shredded beef. I usually get a bean and cheese burrito and some ground beef tacos. I’ve never had their chips. Their chile relleno is the best you can ever hope to find at any sort of fast food restaurant.

The food’s not that great, and the chips aren’t free, but I do have kind of a soft spot for the greasy enchiladas, complete with melted Velveeta.

Funny story. These two girls walk in — one goes to the bathroom and the other goes to order. A few minutes later, bathroom girl comes running out, flipping out about how there was a used syringe in there and she thinks she might’ve accidentally touched it. She’s making a big fuss about it. Her friend looks a little embarrassed and stays quiet. Bathroom girl leaves but her friend stays to wait for her food. I’m thinking, wow, the food must be hella good if she chose to stay and wait for her taco instead of leaving in a huff with her friend. It wasn’t. And I got diarrhea.

Since when is Parmesan cheese considered a topping for tacos??? Some of the greasiest tacos I have ever had. Now I do love the grease factor, but I don’t think my stomach agrees. The Parmesan cheese on the tacos is weird. Who in the world came up with that(probably Jimboy)? I guess you can consider it «fusion cuisine».
