Sycamore Place Lofts

After loving the time I spent at a sister-​property, I thought I’d check out Sycamore Place as it was managed by the same leasing company. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the wonderful Downtown home I was looking for.
Upon arrival, the leasing agent made my roommate and I feel like we were a burden: from scoffing at our rent budget to showing us two apartments that were in disarray although they were both listed on the market. The first apartment we viewed was pretty messy… like, piles of clothes, dirty dishes, and seeing underpants on the end table «messy.» The second actually had movers packing up the previous tenant’s furniture. Talk about feeling like we were in the way.
The layouts of the apartment were not as depicted on the website, which led me to believe there was more open living space. Both apartments had a rat maze of walls that led from the front door to the den or bedroom. We actually learned that there are no two bedroom units here, just one master bedroom and one den. Both were pretty small and could fit a queen bed and tiny dresser. Neither had walls that reached the ceiling. Neither had bedroom or closet doors.
Things I liked:
— Gigantic walk in closets
— Jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom
I have the impression that since Sycamore Place is located across from P&G, that the company is housing their traveling employees there or offering some sort of corporate incentive. For what is offered, the rent is extremely high. The lowest available rent was $ 1,500, which is way too much for such a small space.
My roommate and I found a great place a few blocks away with twice the space for $ 500 less. Same upscale quality, more amenities, secure access, and covered parking garage. If you’re looking for Downtown living, shop around. You’ll find better.
