The food and service was amazing. Every year I go to Cincinnati I have to eat here. Everything is cooked to perfection and guaranteed an excellent meal.

Seriously the reason this place keeps getting such high scores from me is their management team. Melissa(another manager) is also on top of everything and very personable. If you want to go somewhere that treats theirs customers great.: this is the place! Oh and food is exceptional but that’s because the managers pay attention!!!

I have visited Ruth’s Chris Steak House twice, on two very different occasions. Once was in their upstairs dining room for a full meal, and the second, in their bar area for drinks. For each, I had impeccable service and the food was to die for! For the upstairs dining event, I took my boyfriend here for his birthday. Per my request, the front host sat the two of us at(what I think is) the best table in the house — we sat right by the window and was able to look out over the Roebling Bridge and the banks. They decorated the table with candles and small«Happy Birthday» confetti. Our server was attentive to our needs and recommended some of the best options on the menu. They brought out a special birthday dessert as well, and ultimately made us feel like we were the only patrons in the restaurant! If you are looking for a special night — and can afford the prices — this should be your top option! I stopped by again this past weekend with my boyfriend. We sat at the bar, just there to get some drinks before dinner, and our server was again welcoming and gracious. Even when my boyfriend decided to order a single baked potato to enjoy with his drinks, they accommodated his request and brought us the best baked potato I have ever had!

I don’t normally review chain restaurants, but being in town for the Allstar game was a special occasion. After passing on a few jam-packed sports bars, we did not have to wait for a table here. We did not enjoy all the animosity toward anyone wearing St Louis Cardinal’s memorabilia. The whole town was really hateful. I did however enjoy my Moscow mules and delicious Chilean sea bass. Don’t think I’ll be back though, much nicer people in other towns with baseball stadiums who aren’t such sore losers… and I like Brandon Phillips!

I went here for an anniversary dinner. That night there was a Reds game and a Kevin Hart concert so downtown was insane. Luckily we were seated next to a window so we were endlessly entertained. The cocktails were good but maybe a bit to sugary sweet for us. I wouldn’t normally excited about a salad but I thoroughly enjoyed their harvest salad. My wife ordered a fish of some sort and she shared some with me. We both agreed that it was really good. I ordered a steak medium with shrimp on top. The steak came out well done with no pink in it and no blood on the plate. I should have complained. The staff was extremely nice and always helpful. I’m sure they would have brought me a new one. I’m just not the sort to complain unless I think the food will actually harm me in some way.

This is the BEST Happy Hour ever! The tasty $ 8 food specials are like a mini meal and SO good! I got the Spicy Lobster and it was big chunks of real lobster lightly breaded & lightly fried, with a little edible garnish. My friends got the Tenderloin Skewer Salad and Crab BLT with Zucchini Fries. I tried the fries and they were SO crispy & tasty, and the mushrooms that came with the steak were yummy too! They also have about 5 $ 8 special drinks, and my Pomegranate Martini was so well made, and potent! The service was also terrific and friendly. We can not wait to do back again!

This review is only for their HH and not dinner. The new Banks area of Cincinnati is a great idea, though their are some empty stores on this strip, it doesn’t seem to have impacted Ruth’ Chris business. I went to HH on a Friday AND just before a Reds home game. The parking was a bit tricky given the sporting event, otherwise the parking garages are close and inexpensive. The menu consist of two sides… one side has both food and drink for $ 8 and the second was all drinks for $ 13. There were 5 – 8 food options that varied from a steak sandwich and fries to spicy fried lobster, there was something for all palettes. I ordered two spicy lobster dishes as the portion size was quite small. The best food(in terms of portion size) for your $ 8 is either the steak sandwich or the ahi tuna sandwich. If you are a cognac drinker like myself then the menu was very light, but there are plenty of other options worth trying. I highly recommend trying the coconut ginger lemon drop martini(trying saying that after drinking your first one) it’s very refreshing. There were approximately 10 – 20 drink options when combining both $ 8 and $ 13 side of the menu. The staff were friendly and attentive and the ambience was as expected from a true steakhouse. The bar had a good mix between professionals and those just looking for a good HH. On Friday, HH starts 30 minutes before the restaurant opens to serve dinner and I advise getting there on time. The bar area does hit capacity really quickly and with only a two hour window for HH, you don’t want to miss out.

Disclaimer: This is a Happy Hour only review. Happy Hours are great. The actual hours that Happy Hours occur… usually not so great. But if there’s a Happy Hour worth ducking out of work a little early for — it’s definitely the HH at Ruth’s Chris. From 4:30 — 6:30pm in the bar area, it’s the Sizzle, Sizzle Swirl Happy Hour. Help yourself to a select menu of kitchen offerings and specialty drinks. It’s a great deal. Food: You can get a delicious steak sandwich with fries or a steak salad or even a crab BLT with zucchini fries for $ 8.(They’re all amazing — I’ve tried them.) Drinks: They are also only $ 8. You can get certain types of wine or cocktails. I’ve had their cosmopolitan and pomegranate martini. They’re deliciously potent concoctions that can take the edge off of a rough work week or temporarily ease you from the PTSD of the overbearing, micro-managing boss you might have.

We went here for our anniversary and the food and experience were worth the price! When we made reservations we requested a private table and told them it was our anniversary. They delivered with a table with no one around overlooking the river. We did the Ruth’s Classic menu with salads, sides, a filet and lobster tail for me and full-sized filet for my hubby. We paid $ 4 extra to choose a different dessert and got the molten chocolate cake for him and bread pudding for me! It was delicious! The BLT salad was tasty. My only flaw, if anything, was that the green beans were nothing exciting, but this place was great for a special night!

Went here for my birthday and I loved it. They seated us promptly and our waitress was nice. Although my boyfriends water had little specs in it, one server said it was Material from the shining cloth and offered no further explanation. He promptly got my BF a fresh glass. Before we left they refilled his water once more and there was the same issue. We didn’t say anything since we were about to leave. Also, the Porter House is the BEST option when dining for 2! They even gave me a special birthday dessert. Overall a wonderful experience.

I’m always open to tying new steak houses in Cincinnati, however this one was quite off putting. We had undercooked veggies and the service was lacking.

I had a bit of a rocky start with Ruth’s Chris in Cincinnati but they have steadily improved over the past year. Ruth’s Chris offers sizzling steaks with family style sides. The steaks come out on a super hot plate with a pat of melted butter on top. At our most recent visit steaks were cooked to our desired levels of «doneness». Previously we had trouble with steaks coming out cooked more or less than desired; they were all right on at this last visit. Sides(broccoli, asparagus, creamed spinach, etc) were nothing to write home about but accompanied the steaks well. The steak is the star. Service is prompt and unintrusive. Ruth’s Chris is a great place for a steak in Cincinnati.

Ruth’s Chris isn’t my favorite national steak chain, and I would have thought that they’d have trouble in a downtown with two other chains and a couple of local heavy hitters all duking it out, not to mention places like The Precinct and Capital Grille just a few miles away. But they seem to be doing just fine based on the crowd my wife and I saw here last night. Like the other RC’s I’ve been to, everything was solid but unextraordinary. The service was quietly efficient, without the«Big Brother is watching you» overattentive style of the Ruby’s places that can be tiresome. They lost our reservation, despite having called to confirm it, and were a bit spacey in handling the oversight though they eventually got us to a table. Very nice environment, upscale without the cliched dark paneling of many steakhouses or the Vegas glitz of Ruby’s. But the food just isn’t as good as the best high-end steak places. The menu is somewhat dated, with Iceberg heavy salads, predictable starters and sides, and very«safe» steak treatments such as Oscar. The steaks were alright, delivered with a lot of unnecessary hype about the 500 degree plates, but I’ve had better. I understand they have a terrific happy hour, but at rack rate, this place is just as expensive as Ruby’s and not as good.

Location, location. The only reason I come here is because it is within walking distance of Paul Brown Stadium and Great American Ballpark. My last visit, the restaurant was packed after the most recent Bengals game. We had reservations, so we were seated immediately. But because you’re busy does not mean that your service can suffer. We waited and waited and waited for our drinks, for our appetizer, for everything. I wouldn’t have been too upset if the food was worth the wait. My medium rare steak was more medium well. There wasn’t a touch of pink in the whole thing. I would’ve sent it back, but really didn’t want to wait again. There are two reasons that this didn’t get one star, location and the macaroni and cheese. I could have just eaten the Mac & Cheese. It was very good. I would like to say I won’t be back, but it is one of the few places walkable from the sports venues that take reservations.

It was a nice quick dinner at Ruth´s Chris Steak House during the weeknight. We took advantage of the Happy Hour menu. Due to Pearl Jam´s concert at the US Bank Arena, the place was packed and luckily we were given a regular table instead of the bar/lounge seating, yet we could still go Happy Hour! Judging from the previous Unilocal reviews, the prices must have changed. Currently the Happy Hour is available between 4.30 and 6.30PM and includes several full dishes(protein + fries) for 8USD each, beer(4USD) and some cocktails(I believe they were 10USD). We had a Prime Burger with Fries and Steak Sandwich with Fries. It was a very good dinner as for 8USD, that´s all I can say. It was not mind blowing, but given the price, nice interior and extremely polite and gracious service, it was great! I especially enjoyed the fries, crunchy and not oily! The burger bun was fried, which made it very crispy too. Well done!

I am an admittedly overzealous Jeff Ruby’s advocate. I think their steaks and service levels are in a league of their own in Cincinnati. Having said that, it’s nice to have an option for prime steaks cooked at 1800 degrees(ie., you can’t do this at home!) that doesn’t measure up to a car payment. If you drink wine, it’s difficult to get out of Ruby’s for under $ 300 per couple. Enter Ruth’s Chris… and their criminally under-priced three course Classics menu. You can choose between a petite filet or a 16 oz. rib-eye(go for the big’un), and you get a salad/soup, personal side, and cheesecake dessert… all for between $ 43 and $ 56 per person. At those prices, they’re not just trying to undercut Ruby’s, but they also differentiate themselves from Morton’s and Capital Grille. In fact, I’d argue that you could spend almost that much on a meal at Longhorn and/or Outback — neither of which should even be mentioned in the same sentence as a legitimate steakhouse. At these prices, I’m comparing Ruth’s Chris to J. Alexander’s… and I have to say that I think Ruth’s comes out comfortably on top. Go here for the good deals… don’t get suckered into paying $ 60 for their bone-in filet. If you feel the urge to go into that next price stratosphere, just pay the extra few bucks and get the best that Cincinnati has to offer. But, if you want a very good steak at a very reasonable price, Ruth’s Chris will definitely fill that niche. Big props to them for recognizing the opportunity and accepting that they are a tier below the Ruby’s trio. That’s more than I can say for Prime 47/whatever it becomes next.

We came here for restaurant week, but quickly found out that even though it’s a pricey place, we could come here again for close to the same price! In addition to the wonderful happy hour deals that Cindy pointed out($ 7 for all the things), Ruth’s Chris has great prix fixe menus– for either $ 43.95 or $ 53.95 you can have a salad, entrée with side, and dessert! We arrived early for our reservation and the service staff was really apologetic that we couldn’t be seated early. It really didn’t matter to us because it was beautiful outside, but they don’t really have a waiting area inside– only a couple of seats– so I’d recommend arriving right on time so that you don’t have to stand around. Once we were seated, our server, Scott, came over quickly. One thing we kept saying about Scott– he clearly loves his job. Which is awesome. To eat, we both had the ceasar salad, which was pretty big. I had the crab cakes– which are not the mayonnaisey crab cakes you probably know, but rather basically huge chunks of crab loosely put together and perfectly crispy on the bottom. I loved them, but I’m not sure I would get that as an entrée again. I’d definitely recommend them as an appetizer. Boyfriend had the 6oz filet which was came out a little more rare than he asked(some of the outside of the filet was still pink when it arrived), but was sooooo delicious. Everything is served on a super hot plate, which is a cool gimmick, but honestly made the food too hot temperature wise for me. And I like my food to be piping hot. I had to hold every bite in the air for a bit before I could eat it. I think the hot plates work better for steak than something like fish which is going to get too hot quickly. For sides, he had the mashed potatoes, which were ok. I had the sweet potato casserole. It was really awesome but super sweet(which is normal), so I’d probably try a more legit vegetable next time. Dessert for the restaurant week menu was a raisin filled bread pudding which I didn’t like at all. They have something called a chocolate explosion that I’d definitely like to get next time. Overall, the service is what puts Ruth’s Chris over the top. Our server could recite the menu by heart and knew the answer to every question. The food is delicious and worthy of a celebration. Speaking of celebrations, they make a big deal about celebrating there! If you are there for a birthday or anniversary, they decorate your table, which I thought was really nice. We even saw them bring out a special dessert with a candle for a couple’s anniversary. I definitely recommend, especially knowing what a great deal the prix fixe menu is.

Here comes a review from a guy that loves Jeff Ruby’s. I was thoroughly impressed with this place. The experience here is fantastic. The waiters do a great job of making sure each guest has a perfect meal and enjoys their time dining. I’m going to do a little different take on my review for this meal because as I stated above, I’m a big Jeff Ruby’s fan. If you enjoy the upscale dining that you get with a Jeff Ruby establishment you will enjoy the same at Ruth’s Chris. The same level of detail for meal execution, perfectly prepared entrees, scraping the crumbs off of the tablecloth after dinner, great desserts, etc. The appreciation for the perfectly timed course transition during your meal is top notch. We were paying top dollar so if we didn’t get this level of service I would be a little disappointed to be truthful. We ordered a few broad street hurricanes for $ 12 each which tasted great. Sugar rimmed martini glasses with an orange and cherry in the drink. A little sweet for some I would guess, but I enjoyed it as did the rest of the table that ordered one. The meal was great. We were there for restaurant week which meant we were able to choose a salad, a side, an entrée, and a dessert for only $ 35 per person. That’s a great deal and actually you can get a similar deal throughout the year for only $ 10 more per person and that has a few more choices on that menu. Everyone went with the filet. If you are coming to Ruth’s Chris for the first time and don’t get steak then I’m thinking you should have went with a different choice of restaurants for the night. The meat was excellent and served on a 500 degree plate. The butter that surrounds your steak on the plate while it is still hot makes for a perfect bite of steak. To compare Jeff Ruby’s to Ruth’s Chris I found that the meat was seasoned with butter, salt, and pepper here leaving the meat to speak for itself. At Ruby’s they spice it up a bit more. Having no dog in the fight here I enjoyed both, but if I was going to order a steak I would want it prepared like Ruby’s and served on a 500 degree plate like Ruth’s Chris. It would be the perfect recipe. The sides of mashed potatoes and sweet potato casserole were great. I enjoyed the sweet potato casserole the most. We each had bread pudding for dessert and it was a nice light way to end the meal. I’ll give Ruth’s Chris credit. They have given me another place to choose from on a future special occasion. That was by default always Jeff Ruby’s. If you make that list, you are doing something right!

Came for my birthday and it was awesomeness! I made a reservation because it was super busy… walked right to my table! They had«happy birthday» confetti on the table and a card which was a nice touch. The food(very pricey) is ala carte and piping hot and amazing! The chicken is my favorite thing on the menu! They then brought out a complimentary dessert with«happy birthday» on it and a candle! I was so happy and it was truly a great birthday dinner. Not sure id come here on a regular basis simply because of the price but for special occasions, heck yea! The staff is so nice and very accommodating!

THISIS A PUBLICSERVICEANNOUNCEMENT. EVERYONESHOULDHAVETHERIGHTTOKNOWABOUTINSANELYDELICIOUSHAPPYHOURS.(Said through a mega-phone) GOHERE, GOHERENOW. Ruth’s Chris has always been a 5-star establishment for me. Their steaks are sizzling in so much garlic butter you can hear the plate coming out from the kitchen. Their cocktails are over the top incredible. Their service is thoughtful and friendly and their mission just to serve downright good quality food is where it’s at. But the real reason I am writing is to let you know about their«Sizzle, Swizzle, Swirl happy hour!» A.K.A. «The best of Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse food and drinks for $ 7, Monday-Friday which includes: SIZZLE: Prime Burger with Fries Tenderloin Skewer Salad Crab BLT with Zucchini Fries Spruce PointTM Smoked Salmon Filet Sandwich with Fries Seared Ahi Tuna Spicy Lobster SWIRL: Classic Cosmo Pomegranate Martini Ruth’s Manhattan Blueberry Mojito Rocks Rita select wine & beer And yes, again EVERYTHING on this list above is only $ 7. Seven dollars. As in, I just bought a pair of socks for $ 7 when I could have been eating a filet sandwich. Get your priorities straight people! Everything on the menu is great. I personally love the filet sammie. The bread is buttered and grilled the filet is tender and so juicy! Another highlight if you are a «sharer» like me. We ordered up the lobster mac and cheese which is $ 16. I asked the bartender, is this real lobster mac and cheese? Like is it baked and worth the price? He responds, «Oh it’s worth it all right. There are huge chunks of lobster in it.» SOLD. See the picture attached. This lobster mac and cheese is not only the best in the city, but the best I have ever had in my life. The flavor from the green chilies against the rich and creamy cheese was spectacular. And there was indeed an entire lobster in this mac and cheese. Juicy, comforting, buttery, ooey gooey goodness. If I were you, I would get this so you can experience the satisfaction that we felt. It is like no other. One of the most solid 5 stars I have ever given. YUMM!

Wumms!
