Rapid Run Park

This is a Price Hill institution, just around the corner from the epic Price Hill Chili and a short jaunt from Elder High school. It has a few swing sets, a pond, and some grills, but this park exists solely for GCL cross country championships. On any given day you might find Elder grads reliving their glory days of short purple shorts, wheezing up cemetery hill for the brutal last half-​mile of the varsity course.
If you’re not a running reminiscer, you can still enjoy the swings, the grills, and the shelterhouse above the pond (which is not a very good place for swimming or wading or anything involving clean fun). You’ll probably find some old shoe spikes along the course, which is easily noticeable in fall based on where the grass is trampled as though a stampede has gone through. Which is pretty much true.
