Rakestraw is another field we play on for the Unilocal softball team through the CRC. This field is in the weirdest position ever. It’s like on Farmville when you only have one more plot left and you don’t care what you put on it you just fill the space. The field itself isn’t actually in horrible condition, but the parking lot is tiny and is in a serious fly ball redzone. Also the position of the field is just bizarre. It’s located right next to a high traffic intersection that is super dangerous. Again, the location is really what I have a problem with, if you play here park somewhere else and don’t bring children.

So yeah… Read Tim S’s review… my car def got hit by a softball last night. I would suggest if you are playing here to try to find a spot on the street away from the playing area. Also… wear tall socks or pants, this place is a dust bowl.

I do not like playing softball at Rakestraw. If you’re on a team that has to play here, I feel for you. If you get asked to sub once for a team, make sure they’re not playing at Rakestraw. If they are, say you’re busy. What’s wrong with Rakestraw? First, parking. There’s not much of it in the little lot, and all of it is in serious danger from foul balls hit down the third base line. I feel like I’m taking a risk with my car every time I have to play here. Sometimes I’ll try to find street parking in the neighborhood next to the park. On the first base side, the dugout over there is almost in a heavy forest. A few steps backwards from the bench and your team will think it’s down a man. The outfield is like a ruffled potato chip, causing unpredictable bounces frequently. Ground balls through the infield often turn into extra base hits because of the poor outfield conditions.
