I cannot tell you how awesome this was! Great food, awesome service and friendly space. Had the mahi mahi arugula salad, amazing stuff and that dressing is addictive. I am going to be back.

Next Chapter has a secret: Chili Cheese Fries. Yes, you read that right. It’s not on the menu, but they have good fries, and excellent chili, and when you combine the two, well, BOOM goes the dynamite. You probably shouldn’t ask if they can do this when they have a full house(I’d just order a plate of fries and a bowl of chili in that situation), but my boyfriend and I found ourselves here on a very quiet weekday evening, with a huge craving for chili cheese fries, and decided to ask. We wondered if we could get an order of chili on top of an order of fries, and said no problem if they couldn’t; we would be perfectly happy with a basket of fries and a bowl of chili served separately. The dish that came out of the kitchen WOWED us. It was the most beautifully plated order of chili cheese fries I had ever laid eyes on. And one of the most delicious. Next Chapter gets 5 stars in my book for that beautiful moment in Mt. Adams culinary greatness. I might normally give 4 stars, because other dishes here are good, and I don’t hesitate to walk over for a quick dinner, but some of them may be lacking the wow factor for 5 stars. But the Great Chili Cheese Fry Moment elevates my experience with Next Chapter to true greatness, in customer service, and in Cincinnati gastronomic affairs.

Some parts of the food were good. I got the meatballs. But the best part was the mashed potatoes under them. My friend got the chicken flat bread but the crust and dough was so bland. Server was sweet… But she took forever to wait on us even when no one was in the store. Good location tho.

Okay, so here’s the deal with me and Next Chapter. It was my 24th birthday, and my first in Cincinnati. I was here, dancing, having a good time, when I spotted a crisp $ 20 on the floor. What did I do? I picked that sucker up and stuffed it right into… people’s faces asking if it was theirs. Friends and drunken strangers alike, no one took it! Happy birthday to me, and 5 stars for you. That moment was almost 2 years ago, but I still enjoy myself when here. They have a great outdoor area as well as an upstairs. You’ll only ever find me outside. The drinks are just fine and I’ve never been bothered by the Friday/Saturday night clientele. That’s huge. This is probably the only nightlife spot in Mt. Adams I’d head to less than begrudgingly. Maybe I’ll see you there. I’ll be the standoffish one with eyes like daggers.

Not a bad place and a decent beer selection especially featuring some of the local breweries. On Sundays they have bottomless mimosas which seem to be a popular thing judging by the size of the crowd during our visit. Friendly staff and a nice open area to sit in and enjoy some fresh air.

We kind of randomly came here one day — my boyfriend lives in Mt. Adams and we didn’t really feel like driving anywhere for dinner on a Friday night. Next Chapter has a nice outdoor patio, so we figured why not?! Our expectations were exceeded! They have a good drink selection for reasonable prices, and we were happy there were several good beer selections on draft. The menu isn’t huge — sandwiches, tacos, apps, and a few salads are about it. I went with the fish tacos — I saw mango salsa on the menu, and I was sold! The food came out pretty quickly. My tacos were quite tasty and came out with a side of fries — I’m not sure what it is about the fries, but they were delicious! My boyfriend ordered the pot roast tacos(yes, I agree it sounds random). He liked them so much we’ve already been back so he could get them again! If it’s a nice day, you definitely can’t go wrong with getting a seat on the patio outside.

I went here for a $ 10 deal where you get 10 drinks and 2 shots and we met some friends there and it was awesome. The bartender was amazing and worked with us to make sure we used all our tickets and cups and while we got drunk real quickly after that it only made it better. My friends won best dressed and they didn’t even know it was going on haha and got a bunch of free stuff. The place is a great outdoor bar and I am looking forward to the next visit.

Do not come here for brunch on a Sunday unless you are hungover and don’t care what kind of food you eat, or you just want to sit outside and drink again. Food is bar food and was not good at all. I will not return. Even my drink was not good. I am sure that someone who is intoxicated or wants to be may enjoy it here. I am VERY disappointed.

Spacious outdoor seating, good food, and close to Playhouse in the Park Since I love exploring new restaurants I haven’t visited, I found this one on a search. It was an evening before Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park and I wanted something in Mt. Adams close to that. It was their website which sold me. The restaurant is located at the corner of Pavilion and St. Gregory in the old Mt. Adams Fish House building. What I didn’t realize is that they have a HUGE outdoor seating area and I can’t wait to come back here during the warm summer months. The waitress/bartender was absolutely wonderful. So attentive and efficient. The food was also really good. We tried the fish tacos and the pot roast sandwich. The fries were killers — like Rally’s seasoned fries. The only thing I’d recommend for this restaurant is to expand their wine list. I’ll certainly be back. Interesting to note that they have live music, brunch, and carryout, too.

Tried Chapter tonight for the first time with friends. What a pleasant surprise! Don’t be fooled by appearance — the food is delicious and the drinks are reasonably priced. Think Freshly made American — the pot roast sandwich as well as the brisket sandwich were both fantastic. Will definitely be back to try the flat bread. HH lasts until 8pm during the week!

Cool little bar but the inside isn’t very big. Also, since it’s in Mount Adams, parking is a huge pain in the ass. No draft beer but decent bottle/can selection. The crowd is very young and very drunk. Definitely a younger, college sort of bar.

Well Mt Adams anything is already awesome but this place is double awesome!!! Sweetwater extra pale ale on drought is great day drinking beer and on a sunny, but crisp November Saturday the patio was perfect!!! Staff was great, and oh did I mention the patio!!! As for the food, I didn’t partake but it smelled great, just check it out, at least for the atmosphere!

My friend and I were looking for a place to eat in Mt Adams and stopped here. The pot roast sandwich was so delicious. The staff was very friendly and it had a great atmosphere. Definitely will be coming back.

So let me just start by saying this was my first time here, and it will not be my last! We went up to Mt. Adams to meet friends to watch the Bengals game. I had already eaten lunch and was just looking to hang out but I was sooooo surprised. This place had brunch, salads, burgers, and a cool lunch menu. They look like they are currently changing the menu but that was cool. Now for the best news you will read today… BOTTOMLESSMIMOSASUNTIL2:30PM!!! Get there when they open and get the mimosas! You are welcome!

This place is pretty spacious and we came on Friday night around 9:30pm. It was a decent crowd and they had a band which drew us in. The band was good and we ordered a round of drinks which were all good. We sat at bar tables and had to walk to the bar to get drinks. Around 11:30pm they put away the tables make room for the crowds. And the band left and was replaced by a DJ. It got really crowded really quickly. We left around midnight and the place was packed and the line was wrapped around the block to get in the place. This is a cool bar, but it definitely gets crowded and draws a younger crowd as it gets late.

Ah Mount Adams. Next Chapter is a bar that many have frequented over the years. I had the pleasure of going a few times this year on various occasions. Depending on the time of day you go, this bar can range from having a laid back, casual feel, where everyone is drinking and having a good time on the outdoor patio(with the occasional live band) versus a Saturday night rager where people are fist pumping on the dance floor. The place is deceivingly big. They have a side bar that opens to the outside, a patio area, and a 2nd story dance floor. I think of all the spots in Mt. Adams, Next Chapter has the best selection of music for those that want to go out dancing on a Saturday night. All this being said, it’s a college-type bar so if you’re going on a Friday or Saturday night prepare to elbow your way through people and have a rowdy good time.

We visited Next Chapter on Sunday afternoon before MLK day. If you’re coming here to eat with your family, DON’T. This place gets rowdy, loud, and decently drunk pretty quick. Unless you’re prepared for the atmosphere of this place on a Sunday afternoon, you probably won’t enjoy it. I was pleasantly surprised with how delicious the food was. My wings were tender, juicy, and meaty. The fried cheese is served with balsamic vinegarette and a kind of salsa/bruchetta topping, so don’t expect the regular mozz sticks. Either way — VERY tasty! I don’t want to give this place too bad of a review, but this was easily the absolute worst service I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant. It took us upwards of 45 minutes total to figure out payment for the table’s tab. Our food orders were placed twice because we didn’t think she had put them in the first time around. We watched the food sit on the counter for a solid 10 minutes before we realized it was ours(it’s not a huge place, and it was everything we ordered) so we ended up walking up to the bar to grab our food ourselves. When we tried to close our tab, the bartender/waitress seemed to have no clue what was going on. Dialogue between friend and waitress: «We’d like to close our tab and pay for(Meal 1, Meal 2, and Meal 3).» «Ok, so what can I help you with?» «…Uh, we’d like to close out the food we ate so we can leave.» (Blank stare) «So I don’t understand, what are you asking me?» «We want to leave, so we need to pay for the food we ate.» «OK, but the whole table is on one tab.» «Right, so(Meal 1, Meal 2, and Meal 3) need to go on one tab and we want to close out.» «I don’t understand what you need!!!»(While being very flustered and frustrated.) If the service was any different, and the atmosphere pipes down during the week, this would otherwise be an enjoyable place. LOTS of versatile space for any time of the year and good food. I don’t think this bar fits into it’s skin quite yet.

Next Chapter is a place that you consistently walk by and never go into. I have no idea why this is. It just is. Maybe because it’s on the corner and looks deceivingly small. Either way, most people do not know what this place is. We came here on a whim, because we were looking for a patio and the Rookwood’s was closed. Low and behold, Next Chapter has an INSANE patio! This thing is bigger than all of Mt. Adams! Seriously who knew? What I loved about it was there was plenty of outdoor seating. The draw of a patio is not to stand around and drink beer outside, but rather sit down in a comfy chair, get a bucket of beer, and enjoy some quality time with friends. That is exactly what this place it. Don’t go looking for fast turnaround because the service is not up to par. Prices are average $ 6.50 for a margarita, $ 4 for a beer, and $ 5 for a glass of wine. I will definitely be back on a cool fall night when I can stay longer.

Half price bottles of wine on Tuesday?! Outdoor patio? Count me and my crew in. While on an impromptu bar hop through a completely deserted Mt. Adams entertainment district, we happened upon the newest business in the corner spot on Pavilion and St. Gregory. Like Linsey G. mentioned, it still has that new bar smell and is very clean and inviting. Our server Meghan, mentioned that a lot of remodeling went into the bar and delayed it’s Grand Opening last year. While draft beer was not available on the patio(coming this St. Patrick’s Day), the interior bars had plenty of options. Our server was quick with answers to all our questions and pointed out that Tuesday is ½ price wine bottle night. Oh snap! There is also wine on tap too. I shared a bottle of Marcus Molitor QBA Riesling(normally $ 26 but $ 13 on Tues.) and enjoyed the crisp apple flavor on the warmish March evening. There was no corkage fee or any other hidden charges. The patio on the main level is probably going to be packed on weekends, but on this Tuesday, our group were the only ones soaking up this crazy awesome weather. I hope that smokers don’t overwhelm this great spot. There is also an upstairs that will help spread the crowd out for the busier nights. The DJ booth will hopefully be put to good use and keep people dancing or socializing. The patio on that level can be closed off when the weather is a little chilly The basement level bathroom is going to cause a few people that aren’t paying attention to fall flat on their faces. The right turn off the stairs includes a step down that is unexpected and hopefully adjusted.(ramp?) I enjoyed my time here and will have to check it out on a busy night when the fake tan girls and douchey guys with Axe bodyspray are in attendance. For now, it stands as a great place to sit outside with friends and enjoy a glass of wine. P. S. It looks like their«official» site is not working, but their facebook page is:
