I’m a little obsessed with this store! It’s tucked around the corner from the square so I probably would have never come across it, but a friend and I were taking a long walk around Hyde Park on a nice day and came across it.
They have great gifts, jewelry and home accessories that you won’t find anywhere else. The owner/​manager was there and was so warm and friendly and was totally cool with us just browsing since we had left our wallets at home (either fortunately or unfortunately for me since I wanted to buy everything).
This is a great place for baby shower/​wedding shower/​housewarming party gifts, or just to find a unique gift for a friend. Prices are a little steep but not unaffordable. Can’t wait to return (with wallet!).

The Nest is a quintessential gift shop boutique located on Michigan Avenue just off of Hyde Park Square. Originally located in Oakley, I have been shopping at the Nest for years and they never disappoint. They carry merchandise that is both unique and creative. The price points tend to be on the higher side but in line with the quality of the products they sale. Heather, the store owner, is always engaging and willing to help you select items. The shop has a full spectrum of items from baby to home décor. On my last visit, I was impressed with the selection of clutches and totes.

With unique jewelry, loads of home accessories, unusual monogrammed items and tons of baby and wedding gifts, this mostly «girly» shop is a great place to know about!
It’s located on Madison Rd. in the Oakley area and I easily found parking on the side street on a Monday afternoon. The store was larger than I realized (two storefronts, I believe).
I admired the jewelry and saw many items that would make great gifts, from humorous wine-​themed dish towels to unique monogrammed floral tiles. My favorite item was a topiary-​type tree made of beautiful blue eggs… a little pricey, but I may go back for it!

Nest is one of those wonderful places that stock unique items to beautify your home. I’ve been to plenty of stores that have a bunch of stuff that would look nice on your mantle or shelf, but they never seem unique or exciting. With Nest I felt like every item probably had a good story behind it, and that made me want to buy. In particular, they have these hand-​made tiles which are amazing. They are hand made by the owners of Nest, and they are a very unique gift for almost any occasion.
There are plenty of other neat shops in the area, so it would be worth an afternoon of strolling the area.
