Oh man talk about a great find. This family owned eatery is a gem. My lunch just tasted home made. The lentil soup was full of flavor. The moussaka was made vegetarian for the last Friday in lent. Tender and not bitter, I could eat this over and over again. The basmati rice was the best I ever had. And according to the little old ladies there you could eat this every day and not gain any weight! You have to eat here at Floyd’s, I’m told it has been here for over 20 years

I absolutely love this place! Floyd’s food is the closest thing to authentic Mediterranean food in the area. Being half Lebanese and growing up in Lebanon I know first hand what good Lebanese cuisine is. I must admit, I find Reine the owners cooking to be better than my Lebanese grandmothers, and that’s saying a lot! The chicken is always moist and flavorful and not to mention all the delicious sides. The minute you walk into the place you get great vibes, from the staff and the sweet owner Reine. Unfortunately, most Cincinnati residents in the area are UC students and probably don’t know much about authentic Lebanese food. With Panera bread, chipotle and other commercial places near by it’s easy to miss this place. But the food is amazing and the prices are very reasonable. What’s not to love, a healthy meal at a fair price!

Great food, very authentic . Amazing customer service lovely people. As soon as I walked in there I felt like I was at home. I ordered the half a chicken and pepper with rice and couple pieces of desserts. The chicken was very good on seasoning and very tasty I will be back for sure

I love this place! The chicken is the great, I’m a fan of all the sides. I always enjoy talking to the owner while I’m there. It might be a little over priced but its worth it. If she ever decides to retire I want the chicken recipe.

Excellent home cooked cuisine. I felt like family from the moment I stepped through the door. This is the best Mediterranean I’ve experienced in Cincinnati thus far. Tabbouleh was amazing, I had thirds.lol. It was a while ago but… Oh ya, Turkish style coffee hit e dam spot. Just go, you won’t regret it!!!

My mom had given me a giftcard from for this place a couple years ago so I decided to give it a shot. I’m glad I did, but it was not what I was expecting! First disappointment was that my coupon was a scam and not actually valid at Floyd’s(restaurant.com’s fault). I was glad I had asked about it before my meal! The owner was very friendly about it though and told us that many people had come in last year and were quite angry about it. First of all, the owner had closed up early for the night by the time we arrived there, but she opened it up just for us! We felt so special. She said«we have chicken» so we decided to go with the«Floyd’s Special» of half a roasted chicken, two sides, and pita and just split it. The sides were ok, greek salad and hummus(even though we had ordered baba ganouj) but the chicken was PHENOMENAL. The spices they use were incredible and it was roasted to perfection. I wish we had just ordered a full chicken with the side of pita. The owner and waitress were very happy to have our business and were very talkative with us, talking about the economy and Europe, etc. We got the«full experience» of mediterranean cuisine that night. It was my boyfriend’s birthday too and so they served us baklava and some kind of cookie free of charge. Lovely people, outstanding chicken.

spit roasted chicken = amazing. if you have to call ahead for something because they might run out at 5:30 pm on a tuesday, it’s fucking good. also the lima beans are wonderful, and everything else is really good.

Before I write a bad review, let me state that I have been to this restaurant three times previously, and always had a nice meal with good service, although fourth did not work out so well. My mom and I entered the restaurant and as usual, we were the only customers in the place. Again, as usual, there were at least eight people who I’m guessing were friends in the back and everybody was having what seemed to have an in-depth conversation about who knows. 10 minutes goes by and still no service. The owner, Raenna(Not sure on the correct spelling) comes out and finally helps us. We just wanted to start with a cup of coffee, so we order that first. Another 10 minutes passes by and our ever-elusive waitress comes out to see what we want. This was a different woman and she came out with this huge scowl on her face. By this point, 20 minutes of sitting with nothing, I was ready to go, but mom is too polite to leave like that, so we figured we would get the coffee, pay and leave. I tell the scowl-faced waitress that we would only like coffee and the scowl deepened. A few minutes passes by and I over hear her saying«they only want coffee, this is not a coffee house!» She seemed pretty upset about it, which is absurd because we were there to EAT, not drink coffee. I can’t believe the nerve of this place to get an attitude after we waited patiently for 20 minutes. As soon as I heard the comments, I had enough and walked towards the door. I looked at scowl face and stated to not worry about the coffee and we were leaving. As she had the coffee on her platter ready to serve, she says«your coffee is ready» and I say«no need to worry, this is not a coffee house» and mom and I leave. The whole time the owner, scowl faced waitress and a few other patrons in the back had this stupid grin on their face like they could care less they had lost a customer. Never again Floyd’s, you are a complete disappointment! No wonder you never have customers.

After recently getting dinner to go from here for the first time, I wish I had discovered this place much sooner! The half chicken, although quite small, was very flavorful and juicy. It almost had a lemony flavor. The hummus, which came with 2 fresh pitas, was also excellent… you could tell it was homemade. I wasn’t a huge fan of the green beans. For some reason they reminded me of applesauce(not the texture, just the flavor). Skip the basmati rice, unless you like yours cold and tasting like a bag of rice you could just boil yourself– big disappointment. I’ll have to remember to come get my fill of roasted chicken and hummus from this restaurant when I’m in area again!

The employees were great, The green beans and lima beans were the best thing on the table. The rest of the meal was awful! We ordered a chicken that was so dry I could not eat it(probably made the night before and should have been thrown out the night before). The Kibbi was flat and while it tasted good had a horrible texture. I have heard nothing but rave reviews about this place from the people in the neighborhood, they really missed with our meal! Also, it was much more expensive that it should be, especially for the portion sizes.

Went to Floyds after many years gone by. My memory must of glamorized the experience. The chicken was dry and grey, I doubt it was cooked today. The kibbeh was also dry and not pleasant to eat. The lima beans and baba ganoush were fine. The 50 dollar check was a bit of a shock. I think I will stick to rotisserie chicken from Costco.6 bucks for a whole one, and its fresh and moist.

Fun, funky, family-owned small restaurant near UC’s campus, serving Lebanese and Turkish food. We took our chances by not pre-ordering our chicken and lucked out with literally the last one left(at 6:45pm on a Friday). One friend is a vegetarian and there were lots of good options for her. The other friend is a fellow-carnivore and we each enjoyed«Floyd’s Special” – ½ a spit-roasted chicken with 2 sides and a piece of very good pita bread. The chicken was flavorful and tender; the hommus/tahini was good, and the lima beans were quite unique(but not my personal favorite). Food seems to come out sort of as it is ready – I got my hommus first, followed by my lima beans about 10 minutes later and then a few minutes after that, my chicken. With a tiny place and one server(who was nice, but a bit spacey), it’s somewhat inevitable, I guess, but didn’t bother me. I finished with an almond cookie, which wasn’t particularly memorable. My tips would be: 1) get take-out; the service and ambiance don’t add anything, 2) go early or pre-order your chicken to avoid sell-out, and 3) if you do dine in, BYOB. Oh, and parking is a pain because it’s close to campus – your best best is probably just to keep driving around the block until a street space opens up. Lastly, I’m not sure when the official closing time is, but they start shutting down when people stop coming in/are finishing up(around 8:30pm when I was there).

Some of the best roast chicken. Over priced is my only complaint. Byob ok! Call head to reserve you chicken cause it sells out.

Had Carry out the other night, for the first time in a long time. I had forgotten how great their rotisserie chicken is! The herb rub is fantastic. The Hommos is very good and the baba ganouje is nice and smokey. Everything was done right. Can’t wait to get more.

I’d rather give it 3.5 but that’s not an option. Good prices — great for Lebanese food. The chicken was okay — but I really enjoyed the other items even more(spanokopita, lebanese pancakes, tabouli).

Floyd’s is convenient to UC students. The menu leans toward classic Lebanese cooking and includes Kibbi, Roasted chicken and other classics like hummus, etc. The food is reasonably priced and the family is friendly and helpful if you are new to middle eastern cooking.
