This restaurant had okay food — nothing special. Price was okay. The service was horrible. Not only was there absolutely no wheelchair access, but when I entered the building, carrying a wheelchair up a step and opening the door at the same time, NOONE(not customer or employee) offered even a bit of help. The service was probably the worst I have experienced at a restaurant, just about ever. The waitresses were rude, no one smiled.

Great breakfast food! Had to wait a little longer than I thought but it was worth it. The place was packed so it was expected. If you wanna change up your typical weekend breakfast spot, try Brotherton’s. I’m looking forward to going back for sure.

This is another great neighborhood diner. If you don’t want to hurt the wallet but want tasty food, this place is it in Mt. Healthy. I grew up in this city but never went in! I regret that but glad I finally made it. The interior is a bit dated but I was not there is their décor. I am there for the food and love how the staff knows the patrons that come in the door. I felt welcomed there. My friend and I did 9 miles that morning and we needed some food to recharge. We could have ran to this place because it is only a mile from her house ha ha. She got the rueben and I got breakfast! We also had a little one and he got the grilled cheese sandwich. The portion we a great size. The hash browns were a bit greasy if there is anything to complain about. the funny thing is that the grilled cheese tasted the best ha ha. If I want a great simple grilled cheese sandwich I know where I am going.(i don’t do well making grilled cheese sandwiches). Would like to come here again to explore their menu. It pretty extensive.

Brotherton’s is a neighborhood diner like every neighborhood should have. You get diner food like you would expect. And what do I think when I think diner food? Breakfast. For me the perfect diner breakfast is two eggs over light, hash browns, white toast and bacon. But wait, this is Cincinnati, so you have to get the goetta(with or without the bacon). Brotherton’s goetta is the best I’ve had in town. It’s sliced thin, pan-fried crispy on the outside and slightly crumbly and juicy on the inside. DELICIOUS! The eggs are always done exactly as ordered and the hash browns cooked very much like the goetta – crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. But, Brotherton’s is not just for breakfast. They make pretty tasty lunch and dinner fare as well. I’d suggest trying whatever is the special on any given day. You can always get a nice burger as a fall back, too. We’re not talking five-star dining here, but if you know what you’re getting into, you’re sure to have a satisfying meal every time. Plus, the service is always friendly and efficient. That there is a winning combination. ORDERUP!

I’ve eaten here several times and usually get the same thing. I was here on Sunday and ordered the breakfast sandwich(egg and cheese on a croissant), a side of corned beef, hash browns, and rye toast. My husband ordered eggs over easy, biscuits and gravy, and hashbrowns. I’m assuming his meal was good because he was silent for several minutes while he devoured it. My meal was decent, with a couple of standouts. The corned beef hash is made from scratch and is very tasty without being too salty. The rye bread is the real standout– it’s thick and fresh and toasted perfectly(although this time, I had to have it re-made since the first order was burned). I order both of these every time, no matter what i’m having for breakfast. The hashbrowns are slightly crunchy, which I love, and I always add cheese and onions, which is no extra charge. I was disappointed in the egg sandwich — the eggs were not seasoned, and they used«cheese» slices to melt over the egg. Also, the croissant should have been toasted, then it wouldn’t have been so soggy and would have held the contents better. Service is pretty good most of the time, and the waitress pick up each other’s slack, so you’re never left alone too long. I’ll be back soon!

This is our local go to! They have great breakfast and my husband loves the wings! The staff are really friendly and awesome people. We love it when we meet up with the 85 year old who was born in our house and it is such an example of the history and community in this neighborhood. They serve goetta… Cincinnati…what more can you ask for. They also have a great repeat customer program!

Food is decent. Service is not friendly. I am a regular pick order and the only good interaction I’ve had was with the actual owner. Also it’s been months and still no take out menus as their menu online is outdated.

I’m a night shift worker, so I cannot describe just how great it is that this place will cook a steak sandwich at 7am! Fan-freaking-tastic.

I finally got to try this greasy spoon. I ordered the pancakes with a side of corn beef hash and loaded hash browns. The service was good and friendly. I waited about 10 minutes for my food and it arrived hot. The pancakes were just ok. The corn beef hash was good, but I expected it to be more flavorful. The star of the meal were the loaded hash Browns. They had the perfect ratio of potatoes to cheese to onions and green peppers. They were outstanding! I’d go there again just for the hashbrowns. I’ll give them another try.

My wife and I come here often for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu has something for everybody. For breakfast I enjoy goetta and eggs with rye bread and it’s always good. The chili, onion rings, chicken strips, fries are always fresh and tasty. I end with the cheesburger, it’s one of my favorites, my other favorite is the servers, they are all so friendly. Oh, almost forgot, my son’s likes their wings. Great place in the heart of Mt Healthy. .stop in and grab some grub!

Wow! Best chicken tenders I’ve EVER had! Fresh chicken tenderloin prepared in the kitchen, not some greasy frozen finger!, These are cut, dredged and lightly breaded and fried. I was craving chicken and waffles. Not on the menu, but they kindly served it up anyway! Waffle straight from the iron, crispy and golden. I love Brotherton’s! Oh and the Up N Gone burger is amazing, big enough for two. A grilled burger with bacon egg and goetta. Yowza!

A nice little diner. An exceptional value for the money. Offers breakfast all the time(and their breakfast is very good), the atmosphere is what you expect from a family diner.

I ordered pick up. It was quick and easy and what I wanted. I got the build your own omelet with sausage mushrooms onion green pepper swiss and cheddar, home fries, and biscuits instead of toast. I also ordered one pancake and a cup of sausage gravy for my biscuits. Everything was awesome and at $ 13 not too bad.

A decent local Mt Healthy restaurant. I had a burger and some fries. The burger was tasty and juicy. The fries were… fries. It is clearly a locals place. It is a good place to grab a quick lunch near work but I wouldnt go out of my way to eat here.

Continuing my search for the best omelet in Cincinnati with thanks to Unilocal,we ventured to Mt. Healthy to find this little gem. It’s a down home country style family diner. It seems like everyone in here knows one another. One thing I noticed right away that was different from other diners what that they sell alcohol and also have a few TV’s scattered around. Not sure what this place turns into at night, but we were here for a good ol’ fashioned breakfast. I ordered up the Western Omelet in true Cindy fashion. The bf ordered the country fried steak because let’s face it you don’t get a whole lot of chances to eat country fried steak… it also came with toast, two eggs, and hash browns. I had a bite and it was decent. The gravy wasn’t my favorite but I wasn’t expecting a whole lot either. The hash browns were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside just the way I like them. These were probably some of my favorite hash browns I have ever had. Now onto the Omelet. Whoaaaaa. Money. This thing was KILLER. It had everything I love about an omelet. 1) It was wispy thin and folded over three times and tucked into a little pouch of deliciousness. 2) The ingredients inside were REAL, none of that fake frozen stuff here. AND they were sautéed on the greasy delicious flat top yet still had the perfect bite to them. When I bit into this thing, I felt like all when silent and a loud orchestra played booming music in my head and my tastebuds exploded. I also want to mention that the service was great. Our server was smiley and very attentive. A+ for cozy booths, and cheap home made goodness. Seriously hats off to the chef for straight up workin’ it back in the kitchen. So to sum up, COMEHERE — order the western omelet with hash browns and die a happy soul.

Very good traditional breakfast. I had a bacon and cheese omelet. It had a good amount of crunchy bacon. The hash browns were very good as well. Nice folks, very good service. We’ll be going back.

I feel like I belong here. Like I can show up un-showered in sweatpants and not be judged. Like I have a little bit of flavor, but don’t have to impress the joneses. Like I went to Finneytown High School. Location: Brotherton’s is nestled between a couple of other retail establishments at the intersection of Hamilton Avenue and Compton Road in Mt. Healthy. Its location makes it easy for patrons to take any popular thoroughfare to it, as well as provides convenience from Ronald Reagan Highway(take the Hamilton Avenue exit north about a mile). Additionally, there are a lot of street parking spots as well as a parking lot in the rear, so finding a place to call your car’s home for an hour or two is not at all difficult. Atmosphere: Outdated is the word that comes to mind. Unassuming, too. Yet oddly charming. There is nothing spectacular or special about this restaurant, which boasts counter seating, tables, and booths throughout. I will say, though, that window seating to enjoy the passersby is probably the best, most«ambient» choice. Food: One of the least expensive breakfasts(or dinners) around. And, as in any greasy spoon diner, Brotherton’s does breakfast right. My brother, mom, and I(and sweet baby nephew who didn’t eat the food there) met for brunch for a mere $ 20, which is extremely tough to do anymore(seeing as a pop is $ 2+ itself). As an example, I got two eggs, toast, goetta, and fries as my «potato» for $ 4.70! Brotherton’s is your average, dingy, greasy spoon diner that looks like it’s 100 years old(it’s not) and like people still smoke in it(they don’t), but the food is well worth the cost, and its convenience makes this local establishment a wonderful option for any meal(but mostly brunch).
