I’ve been here a few times and I can tell you the food is FANTASTIC. The service and friendliness of the staff is another story. I’ve never once been greeted walking into this place. A friend and I came in today for lunch and it was NOT packed at all with at least 4 people on staff for the bar and floor. The two female servers did not acknowledge us ATALL. I think the manager had to come over and ask us if we had been greeted or helped we said no and said he was sorry. Well, if you’re so sorry you should hire people who are friendly and know how to serve properly. I’ve worked in food for over 10 years and I could never imagine myself ignoring customers because either of the way they looked or just because it didn’t suit me. You should not work in the food industry if you can’t be friendly to strangers. No one did a table touch to see if our food was alright or if we needed refills. Very disappointed. Service like this just deserves the payment of the meal. Hope my next visit is a better experience.

The band is awesome! Who doesn’t like a little dead. But cannot stand measure pours on the short side. Worked as a bartender for years and these guys are inconsiderate of the band. Will come back but want to bring in my own going forward. B

Great burgers. A nice«sister» branch of the Oakley Pub and Grill. Service could be better. I have had my order messed up 3 of the last 4 times. I ordered the Zola today and received a bacon burger instead. I would be irritated, but all of their burgers are delicious.

I really enjoyed everything at Anderson Pub and Grill. The burger was good, and so were the sweet potato fries. They have a decent beer selection, and the live music was great the night that I went. The prices are pretty reasonable for a burger/bar type of restaurant. If you’re looking to check out a new or different local restaurant, give this place a try.

I’m so disappointed that this bar was something I’d been looking forward to try only to have a very lackluster experience. To start with, they’ve used the term«pub» because they liked it better than«bar». Don’t expect anything on the menu that you might otherwise find at a traditional pub, with the exception of a Bloody Mary. The food is on par with Buffalo Wild Wings, except the price is considerably higher. The wings will run you about $ 1 each and there is absolutely nothing special about them. NOTHING. I’m a huge fan of beer battered onion rings and was pumped to see they had them, but they are so disappointing. Half of the order was under cooked and the other half was over cooked. We really should have known that we needed to turn around and walk out the door upon meeting the hostess who was kind enough to play on her phone for a couple minutes before looking up and saying, «Oh, do you need a table?» Yes. Yes we do. I’m sorry we’ve interrupted you. Luckily she was just as rude to other patrons, so it wasn’t personal. This experience was so disappointing that it really doesn’t warrant a follow up. Skip it and go somewhere else.

Many tv’s. Fries are the bomb. Staff friendly and quick. Fish sandwich was yummm… and I’m not a fish fan. Def going back.

Terrible service, less than mediocre food and beer that was not cold. Our server(Tattoo guy) acts like he’s doing you a favor waiting on you. Maybe your in the wrong line of work dude! Customer service is what is number one for my restaurant experience and this place doesn’t care about the customer. I went once when they first opened and it was bad, same issue. Thought I’d give them a second chance but that was a waste of time and money.

Good food but service was seriously lacking. Our server(young man of beer drinking age) had no knowledge of the current beer menu. Finally brought us a couple beer menus. Even then did not know the seasonal Leinenkugel on tap(it’s January, probably been on tap for awhile). Drinks were ordered and served, local craft cans were on special but served without a chilled glass — I had to ask for it and wait a unusual amount of time. Dinner was tasty, no real complaints. However, the kids menu has all the standard choices except one — a burger/cheeseburger! They have quite a selection of decent burgers but nothing offered in a kids size?! Every restaurant that has a kids menu offers that! We ordered a normal cheeseburger and asked for 2 plates for 2 kids, our server said they would cut the burger in the kitchen. Well, of course, that didn’t happen.

Having a non-chain option on Beechmont Ave. Is always a welcome thing. Arthur’s, Silver Ladle and Anderson Pub and Grill offer good alternatives to the sameness of Friday’s and Applebee’s. Anderson Pub and Grill is a step up from the former Anderson Bar and Grill. New owners from the popular Oakley Pub and Grill and a spruced up interior are a nice and welcome step up from the former restaurant. Food is standard bar fare. Burgers, pizzas, sandwiches, appetizers. While the menu is similar to the big chains around, the variety and taste is definitely a step up. On my first visit they were offering a Jamaican Jerk Shrimp PO boy. I ordered it and it was fantastic. The sauce was spicy and flavorful and complimented the shrimp very well. It was served on a crusty French roll with remoulade and shredded lettuce. Very nice sandwich. On subsequent visits I’ve tried various burgers and the cheeseburger pizza. The burgers have all been fine. A step up from Friday’s a couple of steps down from Arthur’s. The pizza was good but the crust is bready. Live music and average beer selection and a nice outdoor patio make APG a great option in the spring and summer. Unfortunately the rest of the menu has never matched the outstanding po boy special. If you want a good burger in Anderson go across the street. If you want to sit on the patio have a fine meal and run into two or three of your neighbors APG is a far better choice than the chains.

I went in to Anderson Pub and Grill on a slow weekday afternoon to check it out. Full disclosure, this was about a year ago, give or take. They really upgraded the look of the place from its previous owner, now a bright, open space. I sat at the bar, a bit disappointed with the beer selection. A few domestics, a few common euro beers, and a few crafts, one of which was a terrible pumpkin(way too watery, I wanna say it was the Shipyard one, but it might have been the New Holland, which I also don’t love). Original bartender was friendly and talkative. I ordered the blackened fish tacos. They were terrible. The fish was bland, and they didn’t even cut it up or shred it. It was like they defrosted a giant plank of fish, broke it up into three huge chunks, and carelessly threw each on a tortilla. It came with a side of avocado cilantro sour cream, but not enough for all three tacos, and it was underwhelming as well. I would also note the menu does refer to it by the generic nomenclature«fish.» After I finished my tacos the bartender on duty left and the new one came in. Trying to spark up a conversation, I wondered aloud why they named the establishment the«Anderson Pub and Grill» since it was so close to the former business in that location called«Anderson Bar and Grill.» If they wanted to differentiate themselves from a dive bar that had closed its doors due to poor business, why not just call it «Oakley Pub and Grill» since they shared the same owner. I had, in all honesty, stayed away from APB because I thought it was the same owners and they had simply refurbished. I don’t know if she was one of the new owners, but she took umbrage to my implication that their naming scheme was less than ideal. She replied snippily, «Well we aren’t in Oakley, are we?» I pointed out if Oakley Pub and Grill was a flourishing business, name recognition was more important than physical location. I noted that a restaurant down the street from me was called«Great China» but it wasn’t in China, and all«Old Chicago» restaurants weren’t in Chicago. She neglected to come back for another drink order.

We have ate here three times in the past 2 months and only once was a good experience. After this last stop, we will not be returning. We came, we tried, we decided to stop trying. Tl;dr– Atmosphere is nice, beer selection is the usual for Cincinnati but menu is small, food is inconsistent and service is spotty. Bartender is a good dude though, can’t recall his name. First visit, burgers were good, bartender took good care of us and was an all around good experience. No issues. Second time, burger was undercooked, pretty much raw in the center. We sent it back, got a new burger which was better, but still not medium. Manager on duty was very apologetic and gave us some gift certificates to come back and try another time. Service was okay, but still not the best. Our most recent visit, last night, Monday night football, we decided to give it another try. Dining room was nearly empty, but service was pretty slow even though we were eager to drink and eat. Burger was fully cooked this time but the turkey wrap tasted… Off. I won’t say much further since everyone’s tastes are different but the wrap just didn’t meet expectations set by the good burgers we had(once) before. We sent it back, they took it off the bill and a manager talked to us for a bit but honestly we were pretty much done at this point. Paired with the slow service on a well-staffed and slow night, this visit will be our last. In conclusion, There are other more consistent bars in the area, I don’t really want to give APG another chance after these experiences. Granted, they have been very helpful when things go wrong, but we shouldn’t have to send food back in the first place. Also sorry for the small novel, just wanted to share my experience!

I’ve been three times and it’s gotten worse each time so the third was most likely our last. The service is awful. Whoever is training the staff is completely inept and the food has fallen off as well. The medium wings we ordered were virtually without sauce and my burger was way over done. It’s unfortunate because my first experience there last summer was great. Bring back the ground round.

Shame on me for trying this place again. I thought the first time I came was a fluke. Unfortunately I was wrong. The service this time was nonexistent we saw our server to order our meal and never saw her again. If you like a place where you can get your own condiments, check, box and everything else then this is your place. I will never be back.

Wait staff was marginal, felt like I was invisible, order came out wrong and got charged for wrong order, wish I were sitting at the corner table that got all the attention

Oakley Pub gets married, has some kids, and moves to the suburbs. Gets a bigger house, but keeps its soul. The menu is damn near identical, so get a burger, or a cheeseburger pizza, or wings. They’re going to be good. The only knock I had on the spot is that the staff wasn’t wearing aprons or other identifiers, so random people came to check on us, which made me want to get up and go table to table to see how things were going. Some Younger, unseasoned staff, but this place is HUGE. so bring the family, and be patient, you’re killing a couple of hours anyways.

I had the Mushroom Burger and a small Crackling Salad. Both were very good. My husband did his usual Loaded Nachos. We were hoping they’d have another Pig Roast because that was awesome but tonight the treat was the band. They were called Backbeat. Food’s consistently good and better yet, they serve Cole products! There are plenty of TV’s and if you don’t like what is on in one side of the house try the other. But we found them to be very accommodating, if you want them to turn the channel. Fun place.

Definitely cleaner and more up-to date than the previous owner. Food is meh at best. I do like the blackened fish quesadillas. I wish they had a more varied menu, not just the typical bar food. My only complaint with this neighborhood bar is it is too bright and too loud. Turn down the volume and the lights and it would be just fine. Very glad that they also brought trivia back, it seems to be very popular.

The two times I’ve been here have been on Saturday evenings both with a big crowd(16) seated on the left side as you walk in and with a smaller group seated on the right side and I had great service each time. While I do like the booths of the Oakley location, it is nice that there is so much room here, but both locations run the same specials so there’s no risk of missing Wednesday burgers, Thursday wine or Friday tacos among others. What I especially like is that Anderson Township has welcomed some non-chain places and I hope more come this way!

Anderson Pub and Grill is the Eastern offspring of Oakley Pub and Grill. This location is much bigger than the Oakley location, and has basically the same menu. If you’ve seen my photos or reviews of the Oakley location, then you know I’ve had virtually every item on their menu. Definitely above average bar food. Solid burgers. The Soul Burger was named #7(I think) on Cincinnati Magazine’s top burgers list a few years ago. Their Unique Slaw is NOT to be missed as a side item! I recognized a few staff members from Oakley P&G. The location itself is decent, but this place is laid-out in a odd way. You walk in in the middle of the place, and there are 2 bars and two dining areas, basically mirrors of each other. 1 to the right, one to the left. There is also a patio off the bar/dining room to the left. So there’s a lot of room(x2), almost like two separate restaurants with the same menu. Lots of big TVs, so this will be a good place to watch the game, eat some decent pub-grub, drink some local beers. Arthurs’ Anderson location just opened diagonally across Beechmont, and there are HUGE lines to get in. If that’s the case, hit up Anderson P&G, there’s more seating, their Burger Madness night is Wednesday, and they have food/drink specials every day. And that’s The Rest of the Story. Good Day!

Nice to have another place in Anderson even if in old Feldys/Anderson Township grills location. Chicken philly was ok. The bread was cold almost raw. Should have been grilled. My wife liked the fish tacos and chilli. Onion rings were ok but not the giant ones i expected. Noise level was too loud. Speakers were right over our table. We moved and it was still too loud. Service was good. This place was just opened by oakley bar and grill owner.
