Go at your own risk. As soon as I got home tonight after a horrible experience at this seemingly normal salon, I reached out the board of cosmetology to verify that India is indeed a licensed stylist since Kyana Robinson, the owner, had to finish my style since India simply could not perform as a licensed, experienced stylist should. Although Kyana’s customer service skills are seriously lacking, she was able to minimize the hair crisis that India had caused. This business does not accept credit/debit cards which I found utterly unbelievable. When I asked why was I not told that cash was the only accepted method of payment, I was told that they didn’t share this before since there were so many ATMs nearby. I felt very unsafe going to the bar across the street from the salon to retrieve cash at 10 p.m. I also had to walk two deserted blocks to another ATM since the first ATM had a very low limit which they should have known since they stated that their customers use these frequently. I have never experienced anything like this. I was very disappointed with India’s skills and even more when the owner threatened to call the police because I didn’t want to use ATMs in the middle of the night. That’s just so unsafe and a waste of fees and time when Hair Café could have simply informed me that they have the type of customers who cancel their credit cards before payment is received. I would have known that this salon would not be a proper fit for me.

GOTOTHISSALONATYOUROWNRISK! and if you go do NOT go to JASMYN! I saw that she was a recent graduate of Paul Mitchell School and saw her instagram of hair pictures and thought I would give her a shot based off of those things but I sincerely regret trusting her and going to her without running it by other people before that know hair. She told me to come last Thursday, 10 – 22 at 6pm. I arrived right on time like we discussed, 6pm, and I didn’t get in her chair until 7:30pm! I waited 1 hour and 30 minutes! When I walked in at 6pm she was only just getting started sewing in the current girl’s sew in. When I finally sat in her hair 1 hour and a half later she never even acknowledged or thanked me for waiting or apologized for the long wait; I should’ve left by then but unfortunately didn’t. She then proceeded to take out my current sew-in, wash me,(didn’t wash my current sew-in hair and told me to wash it it would be an extra charge which wasn’t told to me prior to the appointment) and then brushed me out. I sat under the hair dryer to dry my hair, then her chair again where she braided my hair — 1STMISTAKE there. She braided few too little braids, she braided them super THICK, not thin and didn’t even braid down till the end of my neck, instead she stopped halfway, left a lot of hair out, and braided the end of the braid into the top braid. She didn’t use a net,(everyone else that has done my sew-in has used a net before) and after I was braided she QUICKLY sewed-in the hair, SECONDMISTAKETHERE. She didn’t sew in each track into the braid, instead, she sewed in the track like Christmas lights! Leaving a lot of space in-between where I can literally put my fingers underneath and feel nothing below it. It is the WORST hair job that I have ever had. Before going to this person, I had my hair done by 4 other girls who did a GREAT job. They all took their time with me, and used a net and did a great base and sewed in the hair tightly. It was my birthday that weekend and 2⁄4 are moved out of Cincinnati now and the other 2 girls were booked and could not fit me in before my birthday so I took a chance with JASMYN. I left with more hair than I came in with! Luckily, that Saturday(my birthday) my friend who does hair came into town and sewed in the remaining tracks for me to make it look more full since it was looking very light. All in all, the braids/base/foundation were a total wreck and the sew-in itself was a HORRIBLE job, when you touch my scalp you can FEEL the bumps/lumps! After she was finished with the sew-in I even asked about the braids and how I could feel how thick and bulkly they were, and all she said was that«you cannot see it» from just looking at my hair. I am so extremely dissatisfied and disgusted that she actually took all of my $ 145! It was NOT worth that price after her horrible job. After telling this story to other people I was encouraged to talk to the owner of the shop and I have been trying to call the shop to talk to the owner but no one seems to pick up the phone and they do not have an answering machine. I will never go back and hope this post with help out anyone else looking to try out this place. JASMYN even knew she did a horrible job with me as the next morning she sent me an email telling me that she will re-do my hair if I take it out and have it washed for no charge; I will NOT take her up on that offer as I never want her going near my hair again. After my friends looked at her instagram page they could tell some of her sew-in’s weren’t great so next time IF I go to someone else based off their instagram I will let my friends who know hair look at it first.
