Ughh i really do not like their food. I’ve only been here once and it was really dry; they did not do my burger like i asked them and i felt really pressured because the waitress just kept staring at us eat and kept bugging us i get it you should check up on your tables but not to annoy us ! I honestly don’t think I’ll be coming back. And to top it off the bathrooms were nasty.

My daughter and I stopped here on a Saturday night after a day of shopping. The clientelle gets a little loud and obnoxious after 10pm. I had the steak dinner and she had a steak sandwich. I should have run for the hills when the most pleasant waitress asked if we wanted them seasoned. We both requested seasoned and boy were they NOT seasoned. I will say I generally ask for my steaks medium, outside of a steak house, and then I get what I want, which is medium well. The little old mama on the grill may not have seasoned that steak but she sure cooked a perfect medium. There was a lot of food that was just kind of bleh. I had a dinner salad, wheat bread, corn and green beans from a can that were obviously unseasoned, and fries. I did not care for the taste of the fries, I’m sure it was the grease. Maybe they are better for breakfast food. We did have very good service.

Just got back from taking my son out for a b day breakfast. We sat down, they took our order. Eggs pancakes and corned beef hash. 57 minutes later, we gt served. When our food came, the hash was barely cooked. Have to say, that was the first time I never left a tip. Nobody checked on us, apologized or discounted our meal. When I confronted the waitress about the long wait, she said, «everyone came in at the same time». That was bullshit. The staff needs a douching. I’ll never go back.

This is a nice small and cozy greasy spoon! You get twice as much food for the same price that you’d pay at IHOP or Denny’s! I highly recommend this place. All they need are some nice big screen tvs!

My friend’s and I came here around 4am on a Saturday morning and had awesome food. My egg whites were scrambled perfectly and the ham was nice and not to salty. The potatoes were awesome as well. I will definitely be back for more late night eats.

Nice greasy spoon in the Cicero area. They offer large and delicious portions for really great prices. They also have a really friendly and fun staff. If you are looking for way to stuff yourself for breakfast you can hit this place up. The pictures people have left you dont do this place justice. The price per portion is ridiculous and the dining room is a very no frills truck stop that is as comforting as the food.

I work close to steak and egger and I am randomly able to trick someone into picking it up for me. When I can get it I am always happy. Biscuits and gravy with a giant ham steak is always delicious. I can’t speak to the service because I get it delivered to me but never seems to be a problem. Cash ONLY ATM inside.

It’s a good thing that this place is rather far from my place, because I will be leaving my other favorite breakfast spot in park ridge. I used to frequent this place when I was still in the Navy, since one of the recruiting station is right down the road from this place. Anyhow, shall we get to the food? It’s your typical breakfast diner and everything is made to order, it’s fresh, fast and coffee is freaking delicious. Ham is little bit on the salty side, but when you are eating with your over-easy eggs, it’s all good bro! Biscuits and sausage grave is awesome too, nice thick gravy on grill toasted biscuits. A definite yes from me! And they have pretty extensive menu so I will be trying something different next time. If you happen to swing by the west side(near roosevelt and central) you should hit this place up. I wouldn’t recommend at night though. This place can get pretty shady quick. Morning would be a good bet!

I can only comment on the few times I’ve been here after a long night out, so if you’re not in that shape, your experience may vary. I haven’t been in since about March of 2010. Steak ‘n Egger is a local institution — they have several near-west locations, but this location in particular was briefly featured in an episode of Patrick Swayze’s final TV series«The Beast.» They’re open 24 hours, serve breakfast any time like most all-night diners, and the prices are fair. That I am sure of, drunk or not. I will usually either have the pancake & eggs. Nothing like even more carbo-loading before bed. It’s your typical diner-style breakfast. I’m not sure if it includes bacon/sausage or has brown, but I would guess one or the other. It’s good. On the other hand, the one time I ordered the namesake steak & eggs, I watched the cook pour about 6 tablespoons of salt onto my steak as he was cooking it. It was all I could taste when I bit into it. It was even worse that the meat was actually pretty tender and really didn’t need that sort of «tenderizing.» When I used to frequent here more often, the waitress would actually remember our usual orders. I doubt she would now, but it was nice. Even at 3:30AM this place can be pretty crowded, so you may have to wait, but be warned that some people who may partake in some illicit drugs(especially marijuana) may visit while high as well as the people with the beer munchies. Police occasionally come in and eat but not too often in my experience.
