This place is the worst ever! I called about 8 times and left voicemails, wrote emails just as the voicemail instructs, we even drove to the address which is just a house and knocked on the door and NOTHING! I don’t recommend this service to anybody! Don’t trust a company who can’t even answer calls to handle your property. I’m only giving them one star because Unilocal won’t let me give them –5 I did however find an awesome guy that seems to have his business together called the knife merchant in San Diego, give them a call! I’m so happy I did :)

Like Jaron S. Stated I have called and left multiple messages for Sharpening Shack, as well as left emails as the recording tells you to do, but have had no response. I unfortunately sent a $ 80.00 straight edge to be sharpened along with a check for payment. They cashed my check and not returned my straight edge. I have pleaded on voice mail and email to return my money and razor. Lessoned learned, I would not be trust giving this company your tools or a check.

I have called and left messages for this place 4 or 5 times over the last 2 months to get a straight razor honed. They haven’t even bothered to call me back. I figured if they were the official sharpeners for The Art of Shaving then they would have some level of professionalism not sure I would trust them any of my stuff if they can’t pick up a phone to take business though.

I had a really abused chainsaw. It was not cutting like when it was new. but when I tried sharpening manually it it was a real pain and I didnt get past like three teeth of it. A new chain is $ 30 at Home Depot. The whole thing is $ 50 new. I was bummed and filing away. The sharpening shack charged me $ 10 dollars and not only sharpened the chain but also filed the depth gage(or what ever you call it). As long as I was there I also got my Entrenchment tool(Army E-Tool) sharpened. I pitty the fool or tree that takes on my E-tool now. It was $ 7 for the E-tool. it is really cheap! It was great. The guy really knows his stuff. The chainsaw cuts better than new!!! He advised me it can be resharpened 2 more times. That means I will spend $ 30 on sharpening vs almost $ 100 of getting a new chain each time it needs sharpening(I also wont have to figure out how to change it out). if you’re in Chula Vista he pick up for free!!! He sharpens anything and everything. I normally do averything myself but sharpening that chainsaw on my own or even my E-tool is not worth the wasted time.
