Why isn’t there an option for zero stars??? So I’ve dealt with Hanger orthotics before and they are horrible. I suffer from foot drop amd I went into a hanger clinic in northern California and had the«technician» take a cast of my leg and foot so they can make me a new brace. Two months later when it was finally ready I go to try it on and it didn’t fit right and hurt my foot. When I told the«technician» that it hurts my foot his response is «don’t worry you will get used to the pain»! Are you kidding me who wants to get used to pain? This is supposed to help not hurt. Needless to say I didn’t take it and walked out with my old brace. Now we come to this Chula Vista location. I called to make an appointment and they had one for mid Oct. I said I will take that appt but if they can put me on a cancellation list just in case someone cancels and I can come earlier. She informed me that they don’t have a cancelation list. I pressed on how they deal with people canceling and she said they just call and that’s it. So finally she said they got a new computer system that she doesn’t know how to use so maybe there is a waiting list. Low and behold there is a cancelation list but if someone cancels they can’t or won’t call patients on the list. She told me to call everyday to see if there is an opening. So I did and on monday she said someone had canceled and I can take the appt set for Wednesday. Well then I just get a call saying they not me need to cancel the appt!!! Are you serious??? «Oh sorry the technician isn’t going to be in the office» what a joke! Now I know why every one of their locations has one star! Horrible horrible horrible!!!

I’ve been there and done this and that with them for over 10 years now before they merged with Hangar. These people are very caring snd take their job seriously. Since Steve was transferred to another location, Seth took over my case and he’s still learning but like Steve, he will be soon mastering his profession. I’ve had a problem before with this new guy but I guess he’s got the boot because he’s not seen there anymore. This almost made me go to a different company but Seth convinced me to give them another chance. I’m glad I decided to stay with them. Besides that other place was way out of the way.

My son was born with bilateral club foot and needs a brace(Dennis Brown Bar) to sleep in at night. I’ve always dealt with Hanger Orthotics in the past, but had a few problems over the past 3 years. So when it was time for new shoes for my son’s brace I had his doctor send the order to Scope instead. They claim they take Tricare insurance, so I believed it would work out fine. I was contacted about 2 weeks later by a scheduler to set up an appointment for them to measure my son’s feet and order the shoes. I explained to her the trickiness of getting Tricare to pay for them and my concerns of the authorization being approved before we receive them, I also made it very clear that he only needed replacement shoes, that we in fact already had the bar itself. A day before my son’s appointment I get a call from the same girl as a reminder. I asked if everything was fine with the authorization and she said everything was approved. The next day we get up early and drive to Scope to be told by one of their technicians that my son’s shoes were NOT approved only the bar! She had a rude demeanor and told me that we needed to pay $ 150 for the shoes. I told her that I would instead try Hanger Orthotics. She then told me that Balboa hospital ONLY sends authorizations to Scope. A blatant lie! We eventually received his shoes through Hanger without a problem at all, but that is another review to write :)
