This location has easy access behind Vons loading dock. Quick and easy. The employee was friendly and helped me out with my recyclables.

Guy working this spot is a hard worker. Helped me unload all my recyclables and seperate everything into they’re bins. You have to take the bottle caps off bottles but save them because they recycle those too. Never busy is also a plus.

Not sure why people give this place bad reviews. If you think bad reviews will get people paid more you are wrong, it will cause people to stay away and thus close this location. I saw nothing wrong and the worker was very friendly and we were able to get our stuff done quickly. Thanks again and keep up the good work!

Workers are underpaid. Too much work for little money.

We don’t often have too much to recycle since we’re not big on sodas or bottled water. The last time we brought items in the store was doing it themselves… we called ahead for the hours and were directed to the location when my son went to the customer service counter. We’d not been here before so were unfamiliar with the process… there is no signage about the protocol or what to do. We waited for the employees to get back from lunch… they slowly made their way back… my son had been standing by the door waiting… people who had fills up their bins and went and sat in their cars came out… my son is still there confused… at no time did these employees acknowledge anyone, say«hey the line is over there… you need to fill the bin…» Nothing. So I got off and asked if they just ignore people who are obviously unfamiliar with the process. The supervisor then comes out and says well he’s training… we don’t have extra bins anyways… not my point? I had been watching this from my car… he left the trainee alone to go talk on the phone… so there’s 2 people only 1 working… no customer service protocol if they’re not feeling like being there I guess? Just no words at all apparently… oh yea, and this all took place in the rain so while people saved their place with the bin he stood in the rain getting wet

This is a brand new location for RePlanet recycling. There faculty is located behind Vons by their loading docks. You also cash in your credit at that Vons. Pros: there is plenty of parking and easy to enter and exit the facility. It’s much closer for the Eastlake/Otay Ranch area than the one located next to Southwestern College in the Ralph’s complex off Otay Lakes road. The staff is friendly and keep the place clean. Big plus is they take their competitors coupons. Cons: you have to remove all the caps off the bottles prior to weighing. You still recycle the caps with the bottles which wont decrease your weight, but they use a compacter to crush the bottles to minimize space. There is also a shortage of bins, about ten, and it takes time for the worker to compact the bottles to free up those bins. If you come prepared to this site you’ll enjoy your visit. If your not prepared then you’re better off going to the Otay Lakes road location.
