This place is great! The broth is always hot and delicious, and the service here is awesome! If I have one complaint it would be that the to-go portions are smaller than the dine in portions, but that complaint isn’t enough to earn a lower rating…

I am not going to lie, when I first heard the name of this location I was a little skeptical. I thought this placed wouldn’t be authentic. But since it’s located right across from my home I decided to give it a try and boy am I happy I did. The food is delicious and cheap. The fresh spring rolls are my favorite they are above average in size and below average in price. I give this place two thumbs up!

Great food. The phở is super bomb and so is the sandwiches. The service could be a little better but still okay.

Phở, spring rolls, egg rolls and stir fried seafood noddles are all on point. So far best Viet food in Chula Vista. Will be coming back to try all the stuff on the menu.

Great, friendly and fast service. The food was okay. Super large portion of the vermicelli beef salad. The spring rolls were decent sized, but I wasn’t feeling the peanut sauce to dip them in. I’d come back again to try something different!

Being Asian and raised in LA, a good bowl of Phở is hard to find. This Phở restaurant was a nice surprise in Eastlake. The broth is pretty on par with Phở Cow Cali’s in Mira Mesa, although the meat in the Phở could be more tender and the fried eggrolls could be larger and more flavorful. To not have to drive 45 minutes to Mira Mesa or 2.5 hours to LA, this place is a quick answer to getting a Phở fix. This is a typical Vietnamese restaurant and isn’t fancy, unless you want to count their crème brûlée dessert, which we were too full to try this time. All in all, it has great service, reasonable prices and a delectable broth; all is worth returning for in the near future.

— phở is good! Not a phở snob, I know what’s good & what isn’t but this place is good. My daughters agree. — BBQ chicken/vermicelli rice noodle is the best one I’ve had! I hope they stay open!

Very good phở. Most people will probably say they can’t tell the difference in flavor of the broth, but I can. The phở here is really delicious and the price can’t be beat. I also like they serve fried rice(we usually order BBQ pork fried rice) and the portion is enough to share for a family of 5. The employees are really friendly and we always come back. Give it a try!

No smoke and mirrors or any fancy stuff. Just flat out good food! Better than Phở Hiep.

After my first visit, I found myself craving their phở constantly. Their broth is rich and flavorful yet not overwhelming and their spring rolls are fresh and tasteful. The service is efficient, attentive, and the employees are very kind. The atmosphere can be updated and may look a bit elementary but the food and service definitely makes up for it. Restaurants in this area become very competitive and I hope this restaurant prospers.

This place is okay. I tried the egg rolls, spring rolls and fried dumplings. The egg rolls were good but this is something you can’t mess up. The spring rolls were passable I would like to have seen more fresh herbs in them. I thought that the dipping sauces for the spring rolls and dumplings were too sweet for my liking. I can’t really speak on the service since I haven’t dined in but they are friendly. It’s reasonably priced for Eastlake. I live in the area but I would gladly go to Phuong Trang in Kearny Mesa, try that restaurant if you’re looking for flavorful Vietnamese food!

The family had a craving for phở. Our usual place is a good half hour drive from our house. We decided to give Otay Lake Phở a try. So glad we did. Fresh ingredients. The perfect blend of seasonings. All the fix’ns you could hope to put in your broth. Absolutely delicious. We’ll definitely be back and our«usual» spot just became unusual

Bún is one of my favorite Vietnamese dishes, so whenever I visit a new Vietnamese eatery, I just have to try their version. At this place, I ordered the Bún combination with grilled chicken, pork, beef, shrimp, and one Vietnamese egg roll for $ 9.95. The serving was quite generous and all the meats had a great glaze and color. The chicken was very tender, semi sweet, and had a good smokiness about it. The beef and pork were both very tender and well seasoned. There was more pork than beef. Although the shrimp were a little on the small side, they did have good flavor and well prepared. The single Vietnamese egg roll that came with the Bún was terrific. It was very crispy and filled with tasty ground pork and vegetables. The vermicelli noodles were abundant and well cooked and arrived cool as they should. I really liked the freshly crushed peanuts and the chopped scallions that garnished the Bún. The service was very reserved and soft spoken but very nice. The place was very clean and had simple yet comfortable inside seating.

Wanted Phở since I haven’t had it in awhile and I saw that this place had great reviews. It’s a small little spot in the area and it had friendly staff that were consistent with helping and asking if I needed anything. They recommended the #1(which had various meats). I also ordered crab wontons of course(which were delicious!). The phở was amazing and I can not wait to try the others! If your looking for a good spot for phở and great price(which was $ 7.99 for large and $ 6.99 for regular) come here if your in the area. Thank you!!!

Economical eating. House special fried rice and a strawberry smoothie ran me $ 13. I liked the spices they sprinkled on to the rice. That was different. Smoothie was good… think they may have mixed in some milk into it. Not overly sugary like a jamba juice would do. Next trip I will try the phở.

This place is ok. It has potential for sure. The service is friendly and great. I am Vietnamese. I grew up eating and loving traditional Viet food and I also cook Viet food at home. I was excited for a go to Vietnamese restaurant in the area. A bit disappointed. I know this is not a 5 star restaurant, but my thing is the restaurant should have great food so people really know what true Vietnamese food is about. I like that this restaurant offers more dishes than just phở. The phở broth is clear, which is what you’re trained taught to cook at home. Hours of labor in a broth. Anyway, at Otay Lakes Phở it’s a bit salty for phở broth. I didn’t get much of the spices that are infused into the broth like star anise, cloves, and etc. The bun bo nuong and bun ga nuong, which are the vermicelli noodles with grilled beef or chicken are way too sweet! They don’t even offer bun thit nuong, the grilled pork, which is the main vermicelli dish. The meat was tender, but I don’t know what marinade they used to make the meat a little red. The taste should be both savory and a slight sweetness. The mi xao or stiry fry in the crunchy noodles bird nest was also sweet. My family and I wanted to love the food, but the items were mostly too sweet. Great service, friendly, and fast. It seems like the dishes are catered to American taste buds.

I came here for the first time tonight and it’s so good! I ordered the rare beef phở and the broth was yuuuuuummmmmm. The shrimp fried rice is the best fried rice I’ve ever had. The egg rolls and steamed dumplings are delicious. The servers are so nice and attentive. Its super clean. It’s right next to baskin robbins and can get hidden, but trust me, don’t pass this place up. You won’t be disappointed. Will definitely be making this a regular spot.

Really good Phở! The broth is flavorful and you get good amount of beef slices… I ordered the small #6(phở with rare beef slices) and it was delicious. The servers were very attentive and my food was at my table very fast. The best Phở I have had in East Chula Vista
